US Exposes Pakistan’s Secret Military Budget | Generals Prosper, Civilians Lose | #axisfocus

Pakistan is hiding something – how it spends its military budget.The United States has officially called out Pakistan’s lack of transparency in military and intelligence spending.In its 2026 Fiscal Transparency Report released recently, Washington said that Pakistan’s military and intelligence budgets are not under adequate parliamentary or civilian oversight. This comes just as Pakistan has raised its defence budget by nearly 18% to a record Rs 3 trillion (around $10.8 billion), with military pensions adding another Rs 822 billion. What’s even more striking - major weapons purchases often stay outside the main budget, hidden from public view. Ordinary Pakistanis face high prices, joblessness, and daily economic pressure, the military establishment remains protected. And that is why the economy is in such a mess. Strategic affairs expert Sushant Sareen summed it up bluntly: “Pakistan’s economy is not even in the toilet. It is worse than that.”Will this American report force any real change?
