Tamil Nadu Assembly Passes Anti-NEET Resolution As DMK, AIADMK And PMK Back Abolition Demand

Tamil Nadu has renewed its demand to abolish NEET after the state Legislative Assembly passed a resolution urging the Union government to scrap the medical entrance exam. The DMK, AIADMK, PMK and Left parties backed the move, while the lone BJP MLA walked out. Health Minister K G Arunraj said NEET undermines social justice, equality and state rights, while highlighting concerns over paper leaks and student distress. Tamil Nadu argues that NEET disadvantages rural and socio-economically weaker students and supports medical admissions based on Class 12 marks. The resolution comes amid renewed national debate over NEET-UG examination irregularities.
