Iran has issued a major warning over the U.S.-led sanctions campaign, with Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei reportedly warning that regional states supporting the sanctions could see their oil transportation routes and economic interests targeted. The warning raises the stakes around the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, with alternative energy routes and pipelines also potentially facing pressure if the confrontation escalates.
