Did China interfere in the 2020 US presidential election? US President Donald Trump has made a stunning allegation, claiming that China accessed data from 220 million US voter files ahead of the 2020 election. Speaking from the White House, Trump described it as the "largest compromise of election data in history." China has strongly rejected the accusation. Chinese Embassy spokesperson Liu Chang said Beijing has "never and will never interfere" in US presidential elections, insisting that America's elections are an internal matter decided solely by the American people. The allegations come at a sensitive time as Washington and Beijing attempt to stabilize ties following President Trump's visit to China and ahead of a crucial summit on trade, tariffs, and rare-earth exports.
