Band and startup name generator

Staring at a blank page trying to name a band, a startup or a new product? This tool builds a batch of candidates from three patterns real names actually follow: an adjective plus a noun ("Crimson Wolves"), a fused compound word ("Byteloop"), and an invented, slightly stylized form, optionally with a trendy startup-style suffix like "-ly" or "-ify" ("Vaultify"). Pick a genre or industry — rock, metal, electronic, tech, finance, food and more — and every word is drawn from a vocabulary that actually fits the mood you're going for.

Options control how the batch is built. Choose how many names to generate and how many words each one has: one word gives a single fused or invented form, two or three give an adjective-noun style name. A start letter narrows the first (or, with alliteration turned on, every) word to that letter, which is handy when a name needs to fit an existing initial or logo. The suffix toggle switches trendy endings on or off for single-word names, and the exclude list keeps specific words out of the results entirely — useful once you've ruled a term out for trademark or taste reasons.

Every generated name comes with its character length and a rough pronounceability guess (easy, medium or hard to say), based on vowel ratio and consonant clusters, so you can shortlist the ones that will actually be easy to say out loud or read off a marquee. Turning on the domain suggestion appends a lowercase ".com" form for each name — this is only a suggested spelling, never an internet lookup, so it never tells you whether that domain is actually free.

Everything runs locally in your browser: no name, exclusion list or option you set is ever sent anywhere. Copy the whole list, download it as a .txt file, or send it straight into another tool's input to keep refining your shortlist.

FAQ

How are the names actually built?
Each one follows one of three patterns: an adjective plus a noun, a fused compound word, or an invented single-word form with an optional "-ly"/"-ify"-style suffix. The word bank changes with the genre or industry you pick.
Does the domain suggestion check real availability?
No. It only shows what a lowercase, hyphen-free ".com" version of the name would look like. Nothing is looked up online, so always check a registrar before you commit to a name.
What does the pronounceability guess mean?
It is a rough estimate — easy, medium or hard to say — based on how many vowels the name has and how many consonants appear in a row. It is a heuristic, not a linguistic judgment.
Can I stop specific words from appearing?
Yes. List them, separated by commas, in the exclude field. If your list rules out nearly every possible word for the chosen options, a few blocked terms may still slip through rather than the tool looping forever.
Is anything I type or generate here uploaded anywhere?
No. Every name is generated entirely in your browser using its built-in secure random number source. Nothing you enter or generate is sent to a server.
