Printer tools

Small free tools that turn a test print into an answer. Everything runs in your browser.

Free to use. No sign-up. Photos never leave your device.

Which tool do I need?

For text and column checks on POS rolls, choose the receipt printer test matching your 58 or 80 mm paper.

For a 4×6 label printer, use the thermal diagnostic label to check its scale, text and sample codes on matching media.

How each tool works

Scale and margin check. You print one sheet at 100% with Fit to page turned off, measure its 100 mm bar with a ruler (or the 4 in bar on the Letter sheet), and type the length you measured. The tool compares it with the true length and tells you whether the printer is printing at actual size or shrinking the page, and what to change in the print dialog. Nested frames at 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm show how close to the edge your printer can print.

Camera nozzle check (beta). You print the nozzle sheet, photograph it flat in good light with all four corner squares in view, and the tool estimates how many lines are broken or faded for each ink. The photo is processed on your device and never uploaded. The result is an estimate: glare, shadows and a tilted phone change it, so use it to decide whether a cleaning cycle is worth running, not as a precise measurement.

Ink cost per page. Enter what you paid for a cartridge and the page yield printed on its box or the maker's page. The calculator divides price by yield to give a cost per page. Page yields are measured by the manufacturer under standard test conditions, so your real cost depends on what you print.

Embed a test page button. A plain link to our test page or PDF that help desks, IT teams and repair shops can put on their own site. It has no script and no tracking.

What these tools do not do

  • They do not connect to your printer or change its settings. You print the sheet yourself and read the result.
  • They do not diagnose hardware faults. If a test print still fails after the fixes they suggest, the manufacturer's support is the next step.
  • They do not upload or save what you type or photograph. Everything runs in your browser and is gone when you close the page. The site only remembers your Letter or A4 choice, as the privacy policy explains.

To start, print a test page from the test page list, then come back to the tool that matches what you see. Our how we test page explains what we check and what is still an estimate.
