I felt my heart beat slower…
as he came nearer n nearer..
as he went lil farther…
as he called my name out….

I felt my heart beat slower….
as he just came to me as a thought…
as a thought –
        that would ring in my ears,
          sing on my lips,
             and a sparkle to my  tears…

I felt my heart beat slower
as it was the first time ever…
that I feel in love…
