Rocket Matter

Pros: Easy enough to be used by Admin staff unfamiliar with the law.
Faster to load website than many online Practice Management Systems.
Good API integrations.

Cons: API Support is basically non-existent.
Time tracking is a chore.

Overall: Let's start with the bad: Time tracking takes about 7 to 9 clicks to record. Asking a lawyer to click 7 times is like squeezing water from a rock. In my experience, the lawyers end up handing the time tracking to their assistants to input. That largely defeats the purpose of a time tracking system, but I simply cannot blame them. It's way easier to track your time in a spreadsheet.

Their API works well enough. You can add time, new matters, etc. easily. Rocket Matter has only had a single API glitch in the year the app has been running. But Rocket Matter's API support is virtually non-existent. You cannot email support, because they don't know. You get sent, instead, to the Developer team. They answer your questions days later.

The good is that my first introduction to Rocket Matter was when I knew nothing about the law. It's remarkably easy to see how a law firm is supposed to be run, just by reading the menu options. That makes it great for new staff to jump right in.

In my experience, Rocket Matter is also faster to load and more responsive on a click-by-click basis than other systems. They don't seem to have as many features as others, so maybe that has something to do with it. In any event, the time between clicks add up (especially with time management).
