Audience

Anyone who needs to scan documents to searchable PDFs in the browser, without uploading or creating an account

About OpenDocScan

OpenDocScan is a free, open-source document scanner that runs in a web browser. Users can photograph pages with a phone camera or import images, then detect and adjust page edges, correct perspective, improve lighting, rotate or reorder pages, and export a multi-page PDF. Optical character recognition adds searchable, selectable text to scanned documents. Scans and the document library are kept in the browser on the device rather than uploaded, and the scanner can continue working offline after the site has loaded. The browser version is the complete current product; native Android, iPhone, and iPad apps are not currently available.
