OpenMuse is an open-source personal agent application that combines chat with its own browser, terminal, files, and persistent task execution. It runs separate server, task-worker, and browser-worker components while exposing the agent's activity to the user. Persistent Chromium profiles let tasks continue across authenticated browsing sessions, while an optional Linux workspace provides command execution and editable files. Task plans support progress tracking, approvals, input requests, pausing, retrying, cancellation, and durable receipts. The application also includes PDF workflows, finance summaries, goals, recurring page checks, Gmail and Calendar integrations, and editable personal context. Rich results can appear directly inside conversations as browser, email, document, finance, and plan cards. OpenMuse is built with CopilotKit and React Native for iOS, Android, and the web, with self-hosting as a primary use case.
