Encore is an infrastructure platform designed to help developers and AI coding agents build, test, and deploy production applications with less manual infrastructure work. It provides an open source infrastructure SDK for TypeScript and Go that lets developers declare databases, Pub/Sub, object storage, caches, cron jobs, secrets, and other resources directly in application code. Encore can run these resources locally with production-like infrastructure and automatically provision corresponding services in AWS or Google Cloud when applications are deployed. The platform supports local development, per-pull-request preview environments, distributed tracing, and production deployments using a consistent infrastructure model. Encore also integrates with AI development tools through generated configuration files and an MCP server that allows agents to inspect services, APIs, databases, and traces.
Features
- Infrastructure-as-code through application code – Declare databases, Pub/Sub, object storage, caches, cron jobs, secrets, and other infrastructure resources directly within TypeScript or Go applications.
- Local production-like infrastructure – Run applications locally with real Postgres, Pub/Sub semantics, distributed tracing, and a development dashboard.
- Automated AWS and GCP deployment – Provision and configure cloud infrastructure automatically inside an organization's own AWS or Google Cloud account.
- Preview environments – Automatically create isolated environments for pull requests to support end-to-end testing before changes reach shared staging or production environments.
- AI coding agent integration – Configure tools such as Cursor and Claude Code while exposing application architecture, APIs, databases, and traces to agents through MCP.
- Observability and infrastructure management – Monitor services with distributed tracing, metrics, logs, cost analytics, service catalogs, architecture diagrams, and infrastructure approval workflows.
