    BackupZit

Self-hosted backup for servers, VMs, databases and Microsoft 365

BackupZit is free, open-source backup software that you run on your own server. One web console manages agents on Windows and Linux machines and backs up files, whole disks (bare-metal recovery), Proxmox VE, VMware ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V virtual machines without agents inside the guests, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB databases with point-in-time restore, NAS shares and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint). Backups are deduplicated, compressed and encrypted (AES-256) before they leave the machine and can go to SFTP, S3-compatible storage, Azure Blob, SMB shares, USB disks or a write-once hardened repository. Immutable copies, backup copy jobs for 3-2-1, automatic restore tests and instant recovery of VMs are included. No cloud service, nothing exposed to the internet. The console is available in 14 languages. Licensed under the GNU AGPLv3; commercial support is offered by MaxZit.
