    TurboVNC

    TurboVNC

    High-speed, 3D-friendly, TightVNC-compatible remote desktop software

TurboVNC is a high-performance, enterprise-quality version of VNC based on TightVNC, TigerVNC, and X.org. It contains a variant of Tight encoding that is tuned for maximum performance and compression with 3D applications (VirtualGL), video, and other image-intensive workloads. TurboVNC, in combination with VirtualGL, provides a complete solution for remotely displaying 3D applications with interactive performance. TurboVNC's high-speed encoding methods have been adopted by TigerVNC and libvncserver, and TurboVNC is also compatible with any other TightVNC derivative. TurboVNC forked from TightVNC in 2004 and still covers all of the TightVNC 1.3.x features, but TurboVNC contains numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes relative to TightVNC, and it compresses 3D and video workloads much better than TightVNC while using generally only 5-20% of the CPU time of the latter. Using non-default settings, TurboVNC can also be made to compress 2D workloads as "tightly" as TightVNC.

    VeraCrypt

    VeraCrypt

Open source disk encryption with strong security for the Paranoid

VeraCrypt is a free disk encryption software brought to you by IDRIX (https://www.idrix.fr) and based on TrueCrypt 7.1a. It adds enhanced security to the algorithms used for system and partitions encryption making it immune to new developments in brute-force attacks. It also solves many vulnerabilities and security issues found in TrueCrypt. This enhanced security adds some delay ONLY to the opening of encrypted partitions without any performance impact to the application use phase. This is acceptable to the legitimate owner but it makes it much harder for an attacker to gain access to the encrypted data. All released files are PGP signed with key ID=0x680D16DE, available on key servers and downloadable at https://www.idrix.fr/VeraCrypt/VeraCrypt_PGP_public_key.asc VeraCrypt can mount TrueCrypt volumes. It also can convert them to VeraCrypt format. rEFInd

    rEFInd

    An EFI boot manager utility

rEFInd is a fork of the rEFIt boot manager. Like rEFIt, rEFInd can auto-detect your installed EFI boot loaders and it presents a pretty GUI menu of boot options. rEFInd goes beyond rEFIt in that rEFInd better handles systems with many boot loaders, gives better control over the boot loader search process, and provides the ability for users to define their own boot loader entries.

    Barrier

    Barrier

    Open-source KVM software

Barrier is a software that works just like a KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) switch, which allows you to use a single mouse and keyboard to control several different computers by physically turning a dial on the box to switch the machine you're controlling at any given time. Barrier is able to do this in software, giving you control over different machines by simply moving your mouse to the edge of the screen, or by using a keypress to switch focus to a different system. Barrier was built to be simple and reliable, allowing you to control a different machine by simply using your mouse and keyboard from another. It works on all major operating systems (Linux, Windows, MacOS/OS X), including FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

    usbliter8

    usbliter8

    An A12/A13 SecureROM exploit

usbliter8 is a low-level security research project focused on a tethered SecureROM exploit for Apple A12, S4/S5, and A13 SoCs. It targets a USB controller bug that requires specialized microcontroller hardware rather than a normal Mac or PC USB stack. The repository includes firmware source code, board support files, shellcode directories, USB handling code, logging helpers, and a Python control tool. It is intended for advanced researchers who understand DFU behavior, embedded development, bootrom analysis, and the risks of hardware-level experimentation. The project documents supported RP2350-based boards and includes build information for people compiling the firmware themselves. Overall, it is a specialized Apple platform security research project, not a general-purpose end-user utility.

    whisper.cpp

    whisper.cpp

Port of OpenAI's Whisper model in C/C++

whisper.cpp is a lightweight, C/C++ reimplementation of OpenAI’s Whisper automatic speech recognition (ASR) model—designed for efficient, standalone transcription without external dependencies. The entire high-level implementation of the model is contained in whisper.h and whisper.cpp. The rest of the code is part of the ggml machine learning library. The command downloads the base.en model converted to custom ggml format and runs the inference on all .wav samples in the folder samples. whisper.cpp supports integer quantization of the Whisper ggml models. Quantized models require less memory and disk space and depending on the hardware can be processed more efficiently.

    VirtualBox

    VirtualBox

    Virtualization software for x86_64 hardware

VirtualBox is a powerful open-source full virtualization software that allows a user to run one or more “guest” operating systems simultaneously inside “virtual machines” on a single physical “host” machine. It supports a wide variety of host platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS, Solaris, etc.) and guest OSes, enabling, for example, running Linux on a Windows PC, running Windows Server on a Linux host, or even legacy OSes in a controlled environment. This flexibility makes VirtualBox ideal for developers, testers, sysadmins, or hobbyists who need different OS environments, want to test software across systems, or need isolation for development, sandboxing, or security experiments. VirtualBox offers both a user-friendly GUI as well as a command-line interface and headless mode, making it useful for desktop usage as well as server or automated environments.
