The MIDI Agent System (MAS) uses the interaction between different agents to generate MIDI notes. This software is designed for live use and it enables the performer to have real time control over very complex music.

Java decoder for FLAC sound files. This project arrives to update the jFLAC package 1.5.2 to relieve nasty bugs and where possible improve program code appearance. Currently it has only practical intentions of usability and doesn't target to review the codec algorithm. The target format is Java 8 for maximum compatibility.

JACo MP3 Player is a cross platform java mp3 player. Features: very low CPU usage (~2%), incredible small library (~90KB), doesn't need JMF, easy to integrate in any application, easy to integrate in any web page (as applet).

This project was started as a Masters project back in 2006. I completed the project as part of my dissertation, and produced software to render Maya script (MEL) to animate a piano model I'd also created. From this I produced a number of videos, which I uploaded periodically to YouTube. Following numerous request I attempted to create a standalone application to playback MIDI performances without the need for a 3rd party 3d modelling/rendering application such as Maya. Given my original background in Java, and it's existing support for MIDI files, I proceeded to attempt to create this using Java 3D. However, (and this sounds like an excuse, which it probably is), life got in the way and I never completed the project to a commercial standard for reproduction. As such, I'm offering the source here in good will to other developers/musicians who might be able to take what I've achieved and carry it forward to a useful learning tool.

The Tibetan and Himalayan Library has several open-sourced tools for inputting, manipulating, translating, and transcribing Tibetan-language text, audio, and video. We aim to make using a computer easier for Himalayan peoples and scholars.

Unicode Rewriter is a Java tool which converts ID3 tags of MP3 files into Unicode. The reconverted MP3 files can be processed by iTunes and Rhythmbox.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) evolves musical instruments you play with the mouse from small blocks of Java code that operate on numbers, each block designed to keep all numbers in range -1 to 1 if they started in that range, and combinations of these evolved codes running 44100 times per second for high quality 44.1 khz audio. You can also write the Java code into its window. Uses Javassist internal compiler on the new Java code assembled by renaming variables to overlap eachother and reordering, copying, and removing blocks of code. This branched into my other projects: GigaLineCompile, JSelfModify, JSoundCard, and Human AI Net as I got more into the AI and systems side of things and explored vision research as a better user interface to network minds together through the Internet. Someday I will bring it all together in a shared space on the Internet.

An Android application for recording high definition stereo audio through built in microphones.

The High Fidelity Audio Player aims to be a fast, simple java based alternative to Itunes. It has a similar interface and plays mp3, ogg, aac, mp4a audio files. Currently it is only tested on windows, but support for linux and OS X is planned.

Java wrapper for the LAME mp3 encoding library. This is not a Java port of LAME, but only a set of wrapper classes based on JNA. Tested on Windows and Linux, it should work on other platforms too.
