THIS IS NOT WHONIX'S HOMEPAGE. Please go to: https://www.whonix.org/ (This is only Whonix's sourceforge must-have project page.) Whonix is an operating system focused on anonymity, privacy and security. It's based on the Tor anonymity network, Debian GNU/Linux and security by isolation. DNS leaks are impossible, and not even malware with root privileges can find out the user's real IP. Whonix consists of two parts: One solely runs Tor and acts as a gateway, which we call Whonix-Gateway. The other, which we call Whonix-Workstation, is on a completely isolated network. Only connections through Tor are possible. Whonix is produced independently of, and carries no guarantee from, The Tor Project. This 32 bit mintyMac release installs on just about any computer new or old from netbooks to full desktops. This system was built from our popular 32 bit cinnamon version released earlier this year. As for "eye candy" cinnamon covers it well however personally I just luv wobbly windows and NEED my magic lamp which is the compiz version of the famous Mac OS X genie effect when minimizing windows. Compiz works best with the Mate desktop without eating up resources on Ubuntu flavored Distros from what we see. This system is quick and completely loaded with software. Both desktops have built in theming interfaces so you may totally change the look and feel of the OS from Mac OS X, which is our default, to Windows7, 8 and even XP...or your own theme. We use "Noobslab" for alot of our standard graphics on mintyMac systems. Download your own favorites on their website for free.
