deepin is a Debian-based distribution that aims to provide an elegant, user-friendly and reliable operating system. It does not only include the best the open source world has to offer, but it has also created its own desktop environment called DDE or Deepin Desktop Environment which is based on the Qt 5 toolkit. Deepin focuses much of its attention on intuitive design. Its home-grown applications, like Deepin Software Centre, DMusic and DPlayer are tailored to the average user. Being easy to install and use, deepin can be a good Windows alternative for office and home use.

2007 yılında Edgar Colby ve Necho Carlota tarafından Portekiz ve Brezilyalı kullanıcıları Arch Linux tabanlı kolay kurulabilen bir GNU/Linux dağıtımı ile buluşturmak adına ArchMint projesi başlamış ve 2013 yılına kadar Gnome 2 masaüstüne sahip 4 ayrı ana sürüm yayınlanmıştır. 2013 yılında Mate masaüstü ortamına geçiş ile birlikte projeye Hasan Arslan ve Tekin Özer dahil olmuştur. 2014 yılında projenin başlatıcıları olan Edgar Colby ve Necho Carlota'nın projeden ayrılması ile birlikte proje ismine ithafen Arch Linux'un sağlamlığı ve Linux Mint'in açık kaynak kodlu araçları birleştirilerek 2 yeni sürüm hazırlanmıştır. ArchMint projesi, 2016 yılında tüm geliştiricilerin ayrılması ile birlikte askıya alınmıştır. 2017 - 2020 yılları arasında eski geliştiriciler birkaç sürüm yayınlamış fakat devamı gelmemiştir. ArchMint paket deposu hala günceldir ve Arch Linux içinde kullanılabilir. Debox GNU/Linux Live CD is a live hybrid distribution based on Debian and OpenBox. Can be used on computers supporting 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures. Debox was made with the middle and novice user in mind. Includes a wide range of software: word processor, media players, internet browser, email client, disk utilities, java and few games. Also, a plenty of printers, scanners, bluethooth, web cams, digital tv, fax are supported by default. Different from the majority of the distributions, the Debox desktop environment does not tightly integrate every component but use various programs and tweaks that give the final result. Debox Live CD is full persistence capable so you can store your favorite data on hard disk/USB stick. Debox Live CD can run in old computers that have more of 256MB of Ram whith a 700MHz CPU (but strongly advised 2GB of Ram and unleast 2Ghz CPU)
