    Faraday

    Faraday

Simple, but flexible HTTP client library, with support for backends

Faraday is an HTTP client library abstraction layer that provides a common interface over many adapters (such as Net::HTTP) and embraces the concept of Rack middleware when processing the request/response cycle. You probably don't want to use Faraday directly in your project, as it will lack an actual client library to perform requests. Instead, you probably want to have a look at Awesome Faraday for a list of available adapters. The best starting point is the Faraday Website, with its introduction and explanation. This library aims to support and is tested against the currently officially supported Ruby implementations. This means that, even without a major release, we could add or drop support for Ruby versions, following their EOL. Currently that means we support Ruby 2.6+. You can also install the faraday_middleware extension gem to access a collection of useful Faraday middleware.

    AnyCable

    AnyCable

Polyglot replacement for Ruby WebSocket servers with Action Cable

Notifications, chats, real-time updates, GPS trackers, collaboration tools, and other real-time features are essential for every modern app. And you should be able to build them in the comfort of your core framework: owning the data, using resources efficiently, and writing clean, maintainable code. AnyCable transforms your Rails application’s real-time performance, making it on par with Go, Elixir, and Node.js–based solutions so you can focus on implementing the business logic. Scale efficiently with AnyCable by leveraging its much lower RAM usage and better CPU utilization than Action Cable. Like with any data, being strategic when handling real-time data is super important. With AnyCable, you remain the owner: you store and access all the data directly, and you never send it to a 3rd-party. Simple and secure.

    diaspora*

    diaspora*

A privacy-aware, distributed, open source social network

The online social world where you are in control. Instead of everyone’s data being held on huge central servers owned by a large organization, diaspora* exists on independently run servers (“pods”) all over the world. You choose which pod to register with, and you can then connect seamlessly with the diaspora* community worldwide. You can be whoever you want to be in diaspora*. Unlike some networks, you don’t have to use your real identity. You can interact with people in whatever way you choose. The only limit is your imagination. diaspora* is also Free Software, giving you liberty over how you use it. In diaspora* you own your data. You don’t sign over rights to a corporation or other interest who could use it. In addition, you choose who sees what you share, using Aspects. With diaspora*, your friends, your habits, and your content is your business, not ours!

    Wraith

    Wraith

    A responsive screenshot comparison tool

Wraith is a screenshot comparison tool, created by developers at BBC News. Wraith uses a headless browser to create screenshots of webpages on different environments (or at different moments in time) and then creates a diff of the two images; the affected areas are highlighted in blue. There are two main modes for using Wraith, 'capture' mode and 'history' mode. Wraith has some built-in JavaScript and configuration file templates for you to get started with right away. If you wish to take screenshots of a component rather than the entire page, use casperjs and pass a selector along with your paths. In the 'component' example config, you can see how we specify a component name, domain path and selector we want to capture. All config options will be placed in a YAML config file. You set the headless browser, diff mode, threshold, fuzz amount and screen widths.

    Mastodon social network

    Mastodon social network

Your self-hosted, globally interconnected microblogging community

Your home feed should be filled with what matters to you most, not what a corporation thinks you should see. Radically different social media, back in the hands of the people. You know best what you want to see on your home feed. No algorithms or ads to waste your time. Follow anyone across any Mastodon server from a single account and receive their posts in chronological order, and make your corner of the internet a little more like you. Mastodon provides you with a unique possibility of managing your audience without middlemen. Mastodon deployed on your own infrastructure allows you to follow and be followed from any other Mastodon server online and is under no one's control but yours. cronwatch

    cronwatch

CronWatch records every run of your scheduled jobs in your database

CronWatch records every run of your scheduled jobs in your own database, and speaks up when one is missed, fails, gets stuck, runs slow, or costs too much. It is a library, not a service. No server to run, no account to make, and run history that stays in your database. An alert carries the error and the last lines of output to the channels you pick, and to Anthropic only if you turn on triage.

    Decentralized Internet

    Decentralized Internet

SDK for building decentralized web and distributed computing projects

This project was created in order to support a new internet. One that is more open, free, and censorship-resistant in comparison to the old internet. An internet that eventually wouldn't need to rely on telecom towers, an outdated grid, or all these other "old school" forms of tech. We believe P2P compatibility is an important part of the future of the net. Grid Computing also plays a role in having a better means of transferring information in a speedy, more cost-efficient and reliable manner.
