    Set of OpenType Pan-CJK fonts

Source Han Sans is a set of OpenType Pan-CJK fonts. In addition to functional OpenType fonts, this open source project provides all of the source files that were used to build these OpenType fonts by using the AFDKO tools. Individual font resources or ZIP files for various deployment configurations are available for download. To help decide which fonts to download, please refer to the Configurations section of the official font readme file. Those who are unfamiliar with GitHub are encouraged to reference the official Source Han download guide, which is provided in English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can also download entire releases that include all available configurations in two ZIP files. To build the binary font files from source, you need to have installed the Adobe Font Development Kit for OpenType (AFDKO). The AFDKO tools are widely used for font development today, and are part of most font editor applications.

    Ark Pixel Font

    Ark Pixel Font

Ark pixel font - Open source Pan-CJK pixel font

Ark pixel font - Open source Pan-CJK pixel font / Ark pixel font - Open source Pan-CJK pixel font. An open-source pan-Chinese-Japanese-Korean pixel font. 10, 12 and 16 pixels are supported. The goal is to provide an out-of-the-box pixel font solution for game development that can be used for text. This project not only provides all the glyph source files, but also provides the complete program needed to build the font. This font is still in early development and still lacks a large number of Chinese characters in all sizes. Among them, 12 pixels are the main development target. 10, 16 pixels are experimental. Efforts are currently underway to achieve the availability of 12 pixels under the GB2312 character set. We have a temporary interim solution available for production until the full font is available, check out the Stitcher Pixel Font project.

    PyMuPDF

    PyMuPDF

Python bindings for MuPDF's rendering library.

MuPDF is a lightweight PDF, XPS, and E-book viewer. MuPDF consists of a software library, command line tools, and viewers for various platforms. The renderer in MuPDF is tailored for high-quality anti-aliased graphics. It renders text with metrics and spacing accurate to within fractions of a pixel for the highest fidelity in reproducing the look of a printed page on the screen. The viewer is small, fast, yet complete. It supports many document formats, such as PDF, XPS, OpenXPS, CBZ, EPUB, and FictionBook 2. You can annotate PDF documents and fill out forms with the mobile viewers (this feature is coming soon to the desktop viewer as well). The command line tools allow you to annotate, edit, and convert documents to other formats such as HTML, SVG, PDF, and CBZ. You can also write scripts to manipulate documents using Javascript. The library is written modularly in portable C, so features can be added and removed by integrators if they so desire.

    Source Code Pro

    Source Code Pro

Monospaced font family for user interface and coding environments

Monospaced font family for user interface and coding environments. Source Code Pro is a set of OpenType fonts that have been designed to work well in user interface (UI) environments. The fonts' source files and build instructions are available in the repository's master branch. Provides several types and styles of fonts for coding purposes. To build the binary font files from source, you need Python 3 along with the Adobe Font Development Kit for OpenType (AFDKO) and FontTools packages. The key to building the OTF fonts is makeotf, which is part of the AFDKO toolset. Information and usage instructions can be found by executing makeotf -h. The TTFs are generated with the otf2ttf and ttfcomponentizer tools. For convenience, a shell script named build.sh is provided in the root directory. It builds all OTFs and TTFs into a directory called target/.

Typeface from Ming Dynasty woodblock printed books

Typeface from Ming Dynasty woodblock printed books. A Ming typeface. Extracted from Ming Dynasty woodblock printed books (凌閔刻本). Using semi-automatic computer vision and OCR. Open-source. A work in progress. Named in honor of 閔齊伋, a 16th-century printer. Intended to be used with Kenyan-lang, the Classical Chinese programming language. Download high-resolution PDFs and split pages into images. Manually lay a grid on top of each page to generate bounding boxes for characters (potentially replaceable by an automatic corner-detection algorithm). Generate a low-poly mask for each character on the grid, and save the thumbnails (using OpenCV). First, red channel is subtracted from the grayscale, in order to clean the annotations printed in red ink. Next, the image is thresholded and fed into the contour-tracing algorithm. A metric is then used to discard shapes that are unlikely to be part of the character in interest.

    ShieldFont

    ShieldFont

A typeface that protects written content by poisoning unauthorized AI

ShieldFont is an open-source typeface system designed to discourage unauthorized collection of written work for AI training. It replaces words in HTML with grammatically compatible decoys, then uses OpenType rules to display the intended text to human readers. Basic scrapers that collect source text without rendering the font receive the substituted version instead. React components, build-time tools, CDN assets, and downloadable fonts support several publishing workflows. Users can generate protected versions of their own typefaces and create private substitution mappings. An optional accessibility layer reveals the original text through a browser-side puzzle, but protected blocks are not fully WCAG compliant. The defense raises scraping costs rather than providing encryption and does not stop font analysis, rendered browsers, OCR, or screenshots.

    Vazirmatn Font

    Vazirmatn Font

    Vazirmatn is a Persian/Arabic font

Vazirmatn is a Persian/Arabic font project that started in 2015 under the name of Vazir with the idea of a new simple and legible typeface suitable for web pages and applications. Design and development have taken a long way but I hope the results are worth it. Thanks to DejaVu Sans font (v2.35) published in public domain there was a free software base to start the Vazir project. Although Vazir was completely different in typeface, still the original software was common. The design is done in Fontforge. For Latin glyphs, Vazirmatn is combined with Roboto font by a build script, however, there is also a version without Latin glyphs (Non-Latin). All weights other than Thin, Regular and Black are generated by the interpolation method by fontmake library.

    Monocraft

    Monocraft

A programming font based on the typeface used in Minecraft

Monocraft is a font for developers who like Minecraft a little too much. Featuring monospaced characters and tasteful ligatures, I've carefully designed each glyph in Monocraft to be usable in a dev environment while preserving that Minecraft charm. Try it out today and discover why nobody has ever done this before! The characters in this font were based on the typeface used in the Minecraft UI, with a select few glyphs updated for better readability and spacing. Each character has been carefully redesigned to work in a monospaced font. Thin characters like “i” and “l” have been reworked with tasteful tails and serifs to look better in a monospaced environment. Add some spice to your programming life with all new ligature characters. Arrows now look like arrows and comparison operators are easier to see at a glance. After following the installation instructions up above, simply select the "Monocraft" font (note the space) in any application that supports custom fonts.
