    OpenBB Terminal

    Investment research for everyone, anywhere

Fully written in python which is one of the most used programming languages due to its simplified syntax and shallow learning curve. It is the first time in history that users, regardless of their background, can so easily add features to an investment research platform. The MIT Open Source license allows any user to fork the project to either add features to the broader community or create their own customized terminal version. The terminal allows for users to import their own proprietary datasets to use on our econometric menu. In addition, users are allowed to export any type of data to any type of format whether that is raw data in Excel or an image in PNG. This is ideal for finance content creation. Create notebook templates (through papermill) which can be run on different tickers. This level of automation allows to speed up the development of your investment thesis and reduce human error.

    OctoBot

Cryptocurrency trading bot for TA, arbitrage and social trading

OctoBot is a trading robot that is designed to be easy to use and infinitely customizable. OctoBot is built for people who don't have much time or do not easily trust crypto-world projects. Many trading automation tools exist but most of them are complicated to use, expensive, do not behave as intended, or are meant to be used by professional traders. Moreover, when a favorable trend is spotted, it can be difficult to maximize profit from it: trading takes a lot of time, and when it's done automatically how to be sure that the robot will do what it is supposed to? By using OctoBot, you will be able to automate your trades with the strategy you have chosen and the markets you want. Whether you are a beginner or an expert trader, each strategy is testable easily without any limit. You can use an existing setup or try and customize your own until you identify the perfect settings for your trading goals and proceed with real money trading and make real gains.

    cryptos

    cryptos

Pure Python from-scratch zero-dependency implementation of Bitcoin

Cryptos is a pure Python implementation of major Bitcoin concepts built from scratch for educational purposes. It deliberately avoids external dependencies so readers can inspect how the underlying cryptography and protocol mechanics work. The project implements SHA-256, finite-field elliptic-curve mathematics, Bitcoin key generation, addresses, and ECDSA digital signatures. It can parse and inspect legacy and SegWit transaction structures, although its transaction validation is intentionally incomplete compared with a full Bitcoin node. Block utilities cover headers, proof-of-work validation, and difficulty calculations. A lightweight network client can connect to Bitcoin peers, perform the protocol handshake, and request block headers. The implementation is intentionally slow and should be treated as learning code rather than production cryptocurrency software.

    BitcoinExchangeFH

Cryptocurrency exchange market data feed handler

BitcoinExchangeFH is a slim application to record the price depth and trades in various exchanges. You can set it up quickly and record all the exchange data in a few minutes! If the exchange is not supported with the WebSocket API feed, it will automatically fall into using its REST API feed. The subscription section specifies the exchange and instruments to subscribe. After receiving the order book or trade update, each handler is updated. For example, for SQL database handler, it is updated with the corresponding SQl statements. The feed handler acts as a publisher in ZeroMQ. To receive the feed, please follow ZeroMQ instructions to start a subscriber. The application is compatible with version higher or equal to python 3.0.

    Catalyst

    Catalyst

An Algorithmic Trading Library for Crypto-Assets in Python

Catalyst is an algorithmic trading library for crypto-assets written in Python, originally developed to let quants and developers design, backtest, and deploy trading strategies in a unified environment. It builds on top of Zipline, extending that ecosystem to support crypto exchanges and high-resolution historical data (daily and minute bars). Users can express strategies in Python, run backtests against historical price data, and analyze performance through built-in metrics and analytics to evaluate profitability, risk, and behavior under different market conditions. Beyond backtesting, Catalyst was designed to support live trading on multiple crypto exchanges such as Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex, and Poloniex, bridging simulation and production within the same framework. The library includes a rich set of examples, Docker and conda configurations, and integration points for community resources like forums and Discord for sharing strategies and troubleshooting.

    Cryptocurrency Exchange Feed Handler

    Cryptocurrency Exchange Feed Handler

Cryptocurrency Exchange Websocket data feed handler

Handles multiple cryptocurrency exchange data feeds and returns normalized and standardized results to client registered callbacks for events like trades, book updates, ticker updates, etc. Utilizes WebSockets when possible, but can also poll data via REST endpoints if a WebSocket is not provided. Create a FeedHandler object and add subscriptions. For the various data channels that an exchange supports, you can supply callbacks for data events, or use provided backends to handle the data for you. Start the feed handler and you're done! Cryptofeed also provides a synthetic NBBO (National Best Bid/Offer) feed that aggregates the best bids and asks from the user specified feeds. Cryptofeed supports backend callbacks that will write directly to storage or other interfaces. Cryptofeed can be installed from PyPi. (It's recommended that you install in a virtual environment of your choosing).

    Nothing Ever Happens

    Nothing Ever Happens

Focused async Python bot for Polymarket

Nothing Ever Happens is an experimental open-source trading bot designed for the Polymarket platform that implements a deliberately simple and unconventional strategy: automatically buying “No” positions across non-sports binary prediction markets. The project is built in Python using asynchronous architecture, allowing it to monitor markets, evaluate opportunities, and execute trades continuously with minimal latency. Its core concept is based on statistical observations that a majority of prediction market outcomes resolve negatively, and it attempts to exploit this base-rate bias through systematic participation rather than predictive modeling. The bot includes a safety-oriented design with explicit environment variable requirements to enable live trading, ensuring that users consciously opt into real financial risk, along with a paper trading mode for testing without capital exposure.
