What sets this frontend for ffmpeg apart from other stereo simulators is it creates an impression of stereo separation. Without trying too hard to be "true" stereo in a gimmicky fashion. More importantly, it produces none of the weird phasing, and/or time delay artifacts. And very little, if any of the tone discoloration, when those others aren't meticulously set up just right. All this is accomplished by using the ffmpeg crossover audio filter to split the sound into 8 frequency bands. The split points are based on center frequencies of a typical 1/3 octave equalizer. Those 8 bands are then panned in varying degrees to left and right. The varying width of each band is set to achieve the best balance between the left and right channels. Mind you: the goal was not to exactly replicate orchestral seating. It was to best alleviate that "tin can in a hole in the wall" mono sound.

TBasic is an implementation of a minimalist BASIC (based on the Tiny Basic specification but with a few significant additions) in the C++ language. It was written for fun, as a project to create a functional language interpreter from scratch and to be potentially used as a lightweight scripting language (it can either be used as a classic command line BASIC interpreter or as a class that allows a C++ programs to load and run basic programs, register custom basic commands and interact with basic variables).

QToaster is a simple app that executes QEMU with proper command line parameters (a frontend). The features are pretty basic, the executable is small and is a portable application. I needed something to automate QEMU quickly operate fast without having to worry about setting things up. I just wanted to get moving fast. It is designed just for that. It will keep your last machine settings and reload them from the .ini files that it creates. The main purpose I needed this for is Android - using Limbo. If something works on QEMU then it has a good chance of working on Android. You don't need to put QEMU in your environment path, just point to its base folder. It doesn't need any special runtimes (java, .net, Python, etc.), it only needs the utility file Lutil.dll. QuickerBasic is a QuickBasic 4.5 compatible compiler which attempts to implement as much of the QuickBasic language as possible, as well as extending it.

OOoLilyPond (OLy) is an Extension for OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice. With OLy, you can include musical notation within text and presentation documents. The music expressions are entered as text codes and translated to images (png or eps) using LilyPond. QuickBASIC? Why? To see if it could be done, I guess, and also to re-familiarize myself with this BASIC dialect. It also compiles in FreeBASIC using the *-lang qb* switch. Linux has dozens of Markdown implementations, probably better than this one, too, but I don't know of any on FreeDOS.

All can be used to take a look how things can be done in Gambas, not with the idea to supply a product or a finished program. The sourcecode can easily be run from Gambas2 on Linux. Some small programs that appear here are in real use in a small business, but no warranty is given! SimpleDemo contains more complete apps that can be used to demonstrate a working Gambas program. Database is often needed. SimpleSample is more a small piece of sample code as a reminder how gambas works or how something can be done. Empty project is an example of how you can start with some things in place already; just copy the code to any new project, more templates might appear. Feedback is welcomed of course, bugs might be corrected if you create a ticket in the bug list.
