Phat Pants (Aaron Reene) is a multi-genre UK DJ and producer with over two decades of experience spanning Hardcore, Oldskool, DnB, Dance and EDM. Starting out in 1995 as a mobile DJ in Lowestoft, Aaron’s path shifted when he discovered Happy Hardcore and bought his first decks in 1997. He trained under DJ tutor Richard Carruthers, later becoming a DJ course instructor himself after only one year. When Happy Hardcore vinyl became difficult to find, he dived deep into Hard House, spending countless hours in record shops mastering his craft. Key support from Harmony Records, especially Grant Philips and Nick Lacey, helped give him his first real break in the scene. For 20 years, Phat Pants has been a loyal resident DJ for Illicit, performing everywhere from Norwich to London and sharing stages with his heroes — including Gammer, Darren Styles, Vibes, and Dougal. Few moments match the feeling of handing over a set to the DJs who inspired him. As a producer, Aaron has spent more than 15 years developing his skills, entirely self-taught and dedicated. After recommitting to the craft four years ago, his sound found its shape in Cubase, the DAW he has always returned to. With four official releases and a new release dropping in March 2026, he is entering his strongest creative era yet.
