Noden
Noden is a powerful, native macOS client that unifies SSH, SFTP, RDP, and serial console access into a single, intuitive window. Designed for IT professionals, developers, and system administrators, it streamlines the management of diverse server environments by eliminating the need to juggle multiple applications.
Key Features
Unified Remote Access: Seamlessly manage SSH terminals, SFTP file transfers, RDP desktops, and serial console connections side-by-side.
Secure Password Vault: Keychain-backed vault for passwords, SSH private keys, API tokens, and secure notes, protected by Touch ID.
Intelligent AI Assistant: Context-aware AI that generates shell commands for Linux or provides direct answers for Windows, enhancing productivity.
Dual-Pane SFTP File Manager: Local and remote file management with drag-and-drop, remote file editing, and Quick Look integration.
Advanced SSH & RDP Capabilities: Supports SSH tunnels, jump hosts (ProxyJump), RD Gateway, admin/console sessions, and shared Mac folders.
Broadcast Input: Execute the same command across multiple open SSH tabs simultaneously, ideal for fleet management.
Use Cases
Noden significantly enhances productivity for anyone managing remote systems. System administrators can effortlessly switch between a Windows domain controller via RDP, multiple Linux web servers via SSH, and a network switch via serial console, all within one application window. This integrated approach reduces context switching and improves workflow efficiency.
Developers benefit from quick access to remote development environments, secure file transfers, and the ability to edit remote files directly from their preferred local editor, with Noden handling the synchronization. The AI assistant can help generate complex commands, further accelerating development tasks. For IT teams, the robust, Keychain-backed password vault ensures secure credential management and simplifies secret rotation across all connected sessions, bolstering overall security posture.
Pricing Information
Noden operates on a freemium model. The free version supports up to 5 saved connections, basic command history, up to 20 password vault items, and serial console access. Noden Pro, available for $5.99 for the first year (then $10.99/year), unlocks unlimited connections, full command history, unlimited vault items, and the AI assistant. A Team plan with shared connections and live session sharing is currently in development.
User Experience and Support
Built natively for macOS using SwiftUI, AppKit, and Metal, Noden offers a highly responsive and visually integrated user experience. Its keyboard-first design, especially for the file manager, ensures efficient navigation. Per-tab latency indicators provide immediate feedback on host performance. The interface is available in English, Turkish, German, Spanish, and French. Comprehensive documentation is available, and Pro users receive priority updates and support.
Technical Details
Noden is a native macOS application, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to Apple's design guidelines. It leverages Apple's `libssh` for secure SSH and SFTP connections, and its remote desktop rendering is powered by Metal for smooth graphics. All sensitive credentials are securely stored in the macOS Keychain, never on external servers or in plain text files. It supports macOS 13+ on both Apple Silicon and Intel architectures.
