Here is a list of places where you can host Broadcast, the self-hosted email marketing software.

Hetzner

Hetzner is a German hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen) known for its price-to-performance ratio. Hetzner raised its cloud prices in 2026. Since 15 June 2026 the entry plan is the CX23 (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe) at €5.49/month in Germany and Finland. A primary IPv4 address costs extra. The older CX22 is a legacy plan.

Data Centers: Falkenstein and Nuremberg (Germany), Helsinki (Finland), Ashburn and Hillsboro (US), and Singapore. Pick a German or Finnish location if you want your subscriber data to stay in the EU.

EU and Swiss hosting

If you want your server and database in Europe with a European provider, these are good fits for Broadcast. Where the parent company sits matters as much as where the data centre is, so we list both.

OVHcloud

A French provider based in Roubaix. The VPS-1 (2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe) costs €3.81/month excl. VAT. VPS locations include Gravelines, Roubaix, Strasbourg and Paris (France), Frankfurt (Germany), Warsaw (Poland) and Milan (Italy), plus locations outside the EU.

Scaleway

A French provider and a majority-owned subsidiary of the iliad Group. The DEV1-S instance (2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM) costs about €6.55/month. Storage and a public IPv4 address are billed on top. Scaleway also sells a transactional email service for system mail such as password resets, but it does not allow newsletters or other marketing email (see email providers).

Infomaniak

A Swiss provider headquartered in Geneva, founded in 1994. Its data centres are in Switzerland. VPS Lite starts at 2.70 per month in CHF or EUR, excluding VAT (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB disk), with a 12-month commitment paid upfront. The 2 GB RAM / 40 GB disk setup that matches Broadcast’s minimum costs CHF 5.40 per month excluding VAT.

Exoscale

A Swiss cloud provider headquartered in Lausanne. It is part of A1 Digital, which belongs to A1 Telekom Austria Group. América Móvil (Mexico) holds the majority of A1 Group, which is worth knowing if ownership matters to you. Zones: Geneva and Zurich (Switzerland), Frankfurt and Munich (Germany), Vienna (Austria, two zones), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Zagreb (Croatia). The Micro instance (512 MB) costs about 5.32/month, the same number in EUR, CHF or USD. For Broadcast you will want more memory than that, so compare the larger sizes on Exoscale’s pricing page.

STACKIT

The cloud of the Schwarz Group (Lidl, Kaufland), operated from Germany. You can sign up through the self-service portal, but only as a business: a VAT ID is required. Billing is pay-as-you-go with no fixed term. See STACKIT’s price list for current rates.

Data Centers: AWS has an extensive global infrastructure with data centers in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

Google Cloud

Google Cloud Platform offers a robust set of cloud services, including virtual machines through Compute Engine. See Google Cloud’s pricing page for current instance prices.

Azure

Microsoft’s Azure is another major cloud platform, offering a wide range of services including virtual machines. See the Azure pricing page for current VM prices, which vary by configuration.

Data Centers: Azure has an extensive global network of data centers, with presence in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

Conclusion

When choosing a hosting provider for Broadcast, consider factors such as:

  1. Price: For small deployments, a VPS from Hetzner, OVHcloud, Infomaniak or a similar provider is usually the cheapest option.
  2. Location: Choose a provider with data centers close to your target audience. If you want subscriber data to stay in Europe, pick a European provider and an EU or Swiss location, and check where your SMTP provider, backups and monitoring tools run too.
  3. Scalability: If you anticipate growth, consider providers like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for their extensive service offerings.
  4. Support: Look into the level of support offered by each provider, especially if you’re new to server management.

Remember to also consider the specific requirements of Broadcast when selecting your hosting provider and plan. Always refer to the latest pricing and offerings on the providers’ websites, as they may change over time.
