Red Gladiola originally began as a whimsical blog, swinging wildly between creative writing, found items, and thoughts on places in New York City. In April 2013, it settled on one identity as the fiction and poetry journal of T. Wong. Today, it showcases the writer’s works and collaborations.
From the Roman word for “sword,” the gladiolus symbolizes strength and moral integrity, as well as infatuation. Red gladiolas are popular Lunar New Year flowers due to their “good luck” color. They are also the writer’s favorite type of flower.
Ms. Wong’s poetry has been featured in Horizons and The Asahi Shimbun. Her short fiction piece “The Twin” has appeared in Visual Verse.
