kubescrape-agent

Overview ¶

Command kubescrape-agent is one binary deployed as three workloads, selected by its pipeline flags (agentRole names which one a process is):

• the per-node DaemonSet: tails container (and plain and journal) logs, scrapes the node's Prometheus targets (discovered through the kubescrape metadata service) and the kubelet, and receives OTLP logs and metrics pushed by the node's pods (-ingest);
• the cluster singleton Deployment: Kubernetes events (-events) and Azure diagnostics (-azure-diagnostics);
• the trace tier StatefulSet (-service-graph): receives the cluster's OTLP traces, derives service-graph and span metrics, and samples.

Everything is enriched with Kubernetes resource attributes from the metadata service and exported as OTLP, over gRPC or HTTP, to an OpenTelemetry collector.
