Super usefull for group trips, I'm giving 4* just because they limit the daily input to 2 or 3 per user, which complicates things a bit.

Splitwise is great for holidays and splitting bills with housemates. Getting everyone on this at the start of the holiday really encourages everyone to get their wallet out to pay for things.

There’s no denying that the constant prompts for going pro are annoying, but I guess it’s gotta make money somehow. I’d happily pay £1 a month for an app like this, but the annual subscription is just way too much in my opinion.

Splitwise WAS a great free app to sort out group expenses on say a golf trip abroad with various players paying for dinners out or taxis. This year Splitwise was completely useless. It kept prompting us to go pro ( ie to pay for the app ), and what was left as a free app was pathetic, confusing, and largely useless. Do not use this app, it is rubbish.

I used Splitwise a few years ago and it was great. Sadly the free tier is very restrictive and barely with doing, but £40 a year with only an annual subscription is overkill and not worth it either. In addition that do not inform you that they are about to take a renewal payment which is usually standard practice.

Have been using this app for 3 years. I find it mostly easy to use. It is NOT the most intuitive, but you can figure out fairly easily. The downside is that expenditures can be
Inadvertently edited and removed by any member of the group AND they tell you you can "pay through the app" but that function is ridiculously difficult. Also customer service resolving the payment issue is nonexistent, they seem to be motivated to keep your money as long as they can. Based on that alone I won't use this app anymore, the company is unethical.

Like many other users, I've used the app for years. It's simple and focused. The tightening of free features is concerning. I understand they have to make money, and I am happy for them. The problem is that there are too many alternatives. Play it smart SplitWise.

Probably one of the worst experience of my life and I did not suspect until it was time to withdraw which was taking forever and I don't know what would have been my fate if contact @ moneyhelper. Solutions did not swiftly get every thing back for me without hassle. Lessons have been learnt

This app is supposedly supposed to make things easier. It does not. I would just use Venmo seems to be the best app out there. THIS IS NOT IT!

I've used this app for a long time, but the new limit of only 3 transactions per day is ridiculous. What's worse is the 10-second countdown you have to wait through just to add a single expense. It’s clearly designed to frustrate free users into paying.

I switched to Lightsplit and I'm not looking back. It’s completely unlimited, has no annoying timers, and the UI is much more modern. If you're tired of being held hostage by a timer, just get Lightsplit.

I hate it. Not friendly user at all, and number of actions per day is now limited. How can that be possible ??
There're much better alternatives out there in the market.

I used splitwise back in September. One of the group paid us thru Splitwise. DO NOT do that. I still haven't gotten my money. I have had 14 emails with them. They WILL NOT give me a phone number to call to get help. I will not use them again.

OKish for tracking the expenses but I don't believe the reconciliations - had to download everything to Excel and do it there.

Man kann jetzt nur noch 3 Einträge pro Tag machen oder so in der gratis Version. Damit nicht mehr wirklich nutzbar im Urlaub.

I used this app about once a year for large family holidays. In the last year they’ve introduced a paid version and so added lots of friction to the free version - ads, time delays, constant upselling modals, a limit of 4 expenses per day limit etc. The free version is essentially unusable and an annual fee is not good value for the occasional user. I’ve switch to TriCount.

Awful app that makes paying bills extremely painful and complicated. I absolutely HATE it.

Was a perfect app untill they made it payed. You can't do anything with the free version. Constant adds and only 3 things per day you can add. I switched to Tricount with my housemates.
