Engineering the CO₂ transition

Over ons

Skytree is engineering the CO₂ transition by building machines to capture CO₂ from the air and repurpose it for good: whether it’s reused across different industries or stored permanently. Our DAC technology transforms atmospheric CO₂ into a valuable resource: powering applications like renewable fuels and chemicals, greenhouse operations, beverage carbonation and water treatment. Our modular DAC machines and unique DAC Park architecture allow us to deploy in any climate, at scale - empowering more industries to switch to a circular CO₂ source and contribute to a cleaner planet. With more than 10 years of applied research starting at the European Space agency, we have the engineering excellence and the patented technology to enable the shift towards decarbonization. Our machines are already hard at work, capturing over 10M tonnes of CO₂ by 2030. • We are delighted to welcome Jacqueline Pieters - Zetsma as Skytree’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 August 2026. As we enter our next phase of global growth, scaling Direct Air Capture worldwide takes a clear financing strategy and experienced financial leadership. Jacqueline brings over 30 years in international banking and finance, including a 28-year career at Rabobank and board roles at Invest International and Aqua Spark. She joins our Management Board alongside Rob van Straten and Floris de Bruijn. This allows Floris de Bruijn, currently both CFO and COO, to focus fully on his role as COO as we continue to scale. In her own words: “The company offers me a unique opportunity to bring together the three sectors I care most about: finance, international agribusiness, and the energy transition.” Read the full interview through the link in the comments section. #DirectAirCapture #CarbonRemoval #ClimateTech #Finance #Leadership

  • 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 After three inspiring days at GreenTech, one thing became very clear: horticulture is actively looking for more resilient and sustainable CO₂ solutions. Across the conversations we had at our booth, growers and industry partners consistently emphasized the same priorities: reducing dependence on fossil CO₂, ensuring a reliable CO₂ supply, and gaining more control over costs in an increasingly volatile market. These insights proof that Skytree Stratus is no longer just an exciting concept but rapidly becoming the standard for forward-thinking growers. We were pleased to welcome visitors from around the world, including Asia, Africa, North America and Europe. The diversity of conversations demonstrated that while local markets may differ, many growers are facing similar challenges and seeking more secure, sustainable alternatives. A big thank you to everyone who visited our booth, attended our sessions, and shared their perspectives with us to make GreenTech 2026 such a success. #EngineeringTheCO2Transition #DirectAirCapture #EnergyTransition #Cleantech #greenhouses #GreenTech2026

A major milestone for Direct Air Capture and agriculture: Today brings the proud announcement of our landmark agreement with Lingezegen Engergy to deploy the first commercial Skytree Stratus system. This strategic alliance plans to establish a decentralized, fossil-free CO₂ supply for a vital greenhouse cluster in the Netherlands spanning 80 hectares, ensuring optimal crop growth while simultaneously meeting strict decarbonization targets. The Skytree Stratus system at Lingezegen Energy is planned to capture 7,200 tonnes of atmospheric CO₂ per year. This collaboration demonstrates how our modular DAC architecture integrates directly into existing renewable infrastructure, such as floating solar parks and thermal storage. Berno Schouten, CEO of Lingezegen Energy, noted: "Capturing CO₂ from ambient air is not a luxury, it is the key to a sustainable and thriving sector." By deploying the Skytree Stratus DAC system, this partnership proves that circular, atmospheric CO₂ is a financially viable, scalable solution to decouple CO₂ production from fossil fuel sources. This milestone marks our transition to commercial manufacturer. Validated by over two years of operational lab data, the commercial Skytree Stratus system features proprietary moving-bed technology that decouples adsorption and desorption, reducing energy consumption to as low as 0.9 MWh per tonne of CO₂ by integrating with low-grade heat. • It’s almost time for GreenTech and we’re looking forward to meeting the global horticulture industry again. On June 11th at 12:00 Skytree’s VP Project Development - EMEA, Peter van Hooft, will discuss how Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology can provide a secure, on-site, and fully circular CO₂ supply for greenhouses. CO₂ is essential for enhancing photosynthesis and boosting crop yields. However, dependence on a declining fossil fuel supply chain poses significant risks. To ensure long-term productivity, greenhouse growers must transition to a sustainable, independent alternative. This shift is now a commercial necessity, not just an environmental goal. Join the panel session including panelists Janneke Grit (Wageningen University & Research), Nicola Donato (Green Gas & Liquids), and Henry Gordon-Smith (Agritecture) to explore how modular DAC can be deployed at greenhouses to eliminate reliance on third-party CO₂ suppliers and future-proof operations for evolving climate regulations.
