CSV Diff — Compare Two CSV Files

Paste two CSV files side by side and see which rows were added, removed or changed, instead of scanning two spreadsheets by eye.

How to use

  1. Paste the first CSV into panel A.
  2. Paste the second into panel B.
  3. Read which rows were added, removed or changed.

Frequently asked questions

Does row order matter?

Rows are matched on content, so a file that was merely re-sorted does not show up as every row changed.

What if the columns differ between files?

Header differences are reported separately from row differences, so you can see a renamed or added column rather than a wall of false changes.

Can it compare large files?

Both files are held in the page, so a few thousand rows is comfortable. Very large exports are better diffed with a command line tool.

Why not just use a text diff?

Because a text diff reports a line as changed without saying which field moved. Comparing as data tells you the column, which is what you actually need.
