Claude AI is facing an outage today as users report issues with Claude Code, Claude Chat and the app. Check the latest Anthropic update and Downdetector reports.
Claude Code among services facing problems
Downdetector data showed that Claude Code accounted for the largest share of user complaints, at 41%. Claude Chat followed with 31%, while 19% of reports were linked to problems with the app. Some users also reported difficulty logging in, website errors and unusually high latency while trying to use Claude.
The reports quickly spread across social media as users tried to determine whether the problem was limited to individual accounts or was affecting the wider service.
Anthropic acknowledges Claude disruption
Anthropic confirmed that it was aware of the issue through its service status page. The company said it had identified the cause of the disruption and that its engineers were working to bring services back to normal. However, Anthropic had not provided a specific timeline for complete restoration when the reports emerged.
That left users waiting for further updates as the company worked to resolve the incident.
Claude API and Cowork also affected
The disruption was not confined to Claude.ai. Posts on X and user reports suggested that several Anthropic products were experiencing degraded performance.Technology commentator Alex Getman said Claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code and Claude for Workspaces, also known as Cowork, were all facing performance problems.
For developers and businesses that rely on Anthropic’s API or workplace tools, such an outage can have a wider impact than a temporary problem with the consumer chatbot. Claude Code is also used by developers for programming-related tasks, making service interruptions particularly noticeable for users working on active projects.
As Anthropic continued its recovery efforts, users were advised to follow the company’s service-status updates for the latest information on the outage.
