Moli is a headless browser for developers building AI agents, web scrapers and retrieval pipelines on their own machines or servers. It reads page content and executes JavaScript without continuously rendering a visual page.

  • Page extraction: Return HTML, Markdown, JSON or semantic text trees for agents and other applications to process.
  • Dynamic pages: JavaScript execution, iframes, workers, cookies and browser storage support tasks on sites whose content depends on scripts.
  • Optional visual tasks: On-demand layout enables coordinate input and viewport screenshots, with low-frequency CPU-rendered screencasts for inspecting page changes.
  • Automation protocols: CDP, WebDriver Classic and WebDriver BiDi provide browser control, while Chrome DevTools can inspect live page structure, styles and geometry.

Moli runs on Linux, macOS and Windows and is open source under Apache 2.0. It's a standalone browser built in Rust, with V8 for JavaScript and Servo/Stylo for CSS. The browser and automation server share one binary, without requiring a separate browser or driver installation. Persistent profiles, HTTP caching and proxies are supported.

Real layout and rendering are disabled by default and require explicit opt-in. Text extraction and JavaScript tasks can skip that visual workload. Moli works independently of Lexmount Browser, the separate managed cloud runtime built around it.
