Browser Use is an AI browser agent for developers automating tasks across websites. It can work through pages and forms to complete jobs such as booking an appointment.
- Local automation: The Python library runs the agent on your machine with your choice of model and a local or cloud browser; a CLI also supports browser tasks.
- Claude compatibility: Its Claude browser toolset integration can control a local browser, a Browser Use Cloud browser or an existing remote browser through CDP.
- Hosted agents: The cloud service runs both the agent and browser, with browser profiles, recordings and data policies.
- Remote browsers: Your own agents can use managed browsers through an SDK, REST or CDP; the hosted browser service includes stealth features, CAPTCHA solving and residential proxies for protected sites.
The open source agent uses the MIT license. Running the Python agent locally and using the hosted service are separate choices: cloud browsers and hosted agents run on Browser Use infrastructure. The local agent's model connection depends on the provider you choose; the Python quickstart uses an OpenAI API key.
The Claude integration's Bash tool requires Linux or macOS, or WSL on Windows.
