Terms of Service

1. The service

Lexi is an API proxy service operated by LexiCo AS (Norway). It processes API requests on your behalf and forwards them to your chosen AI provider. Lexi does not provide AI model capabilities — those are supplied entirely by your provider. By using the service you agree to these terms.

2. Account and access

You must register with a valid email address and be at least 18 years old to use the service. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your API keys confidential and notify us immediately at contact us if you believe a key has been compromised.

3. Billing and credits

Lexi operates on a share-of-savings model. For each request:

• You pay your provider's rate for the tokens actually sent to the model.
• If a saving is generated, Lexi charges 40% of that saving as a service fee.
• If no saving is generated on a request, there is no Lexi fee on that request — you pay your provider's standard rate and nothing more.

Credits are prepaid and deducted as you use the service. New accounts receive $10 in free credits on signup. The minimum top-up is $5.00. Credits are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. LexiCo AS reserves the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice to registered users.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Violate the acceptable use policies of your upstream AI provider.
• Generate, distribute, or facilitate content that is illegal or harmful.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or abuse the service infrastructure.
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these conditions, without refund of remaining credits.

5. Your provider API keys

Provider API keys you supply are forwarded directly to your provider with each request and are never stored by Lexi. You are solely responsible for all usage on your provider account, including any charges resulting from requests made through the Lexi proxy.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.

7. Limitation of liability

LexiCo AS's total liability for any claim arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including loss of profits or data.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms. On termination, any remaining credit balance is forfeited except where applicable law requires otherwise.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be referred to the courts of Norway, with Oslo District Court as the court of first instance.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered accounts at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
