Rules
GENERAL:
- The point of this week is to celebrate Karin and have fun with fellow fans, so we encourage kind comments and positive interactions! Support your fellow fans!
- Be respectful and accept that not everyone will have the same ship preferences or headcanons. This event is for celebrating Karin, not starting fan drama.
- UNDERSTAND THAT THIS EVENT ALLOWS ALL KARIN-CENTRIC CONTENT. While we will only reblog posts with “SFW” content/previews (meaning, all “NSFW” content must be behind a link or a read more), all participants should proceed with the understanding that it is the individual creator’s responsibility to use relevant content warnings. Event hosts will NOT vet all external content, and we expect content consumers to navigate this policy responsibly as they would any fandom space with an “all content” policy.
- Please no stolen content or content made with generative AI.
POSTING:
- Do your best to post during the event week (June 14-20), although we’ll accept late content.
- We accept any and all original fan creations, as long as Karin is the main focus. That means any ship or scenario is welcome, but see rule #5. Please do not recycle content that has been previously posted/shared. We want to encourage creating new things!
- When posting, tag us (@karinweek) so we see your creation. We will share it by reblogging. Give us up to 24 hours to interact before reaching out.
- This is a tumblr hosted event and we can only reblog/share posts that are on tumblr. However, we recognize that tumblr is not always the ideal place for hosting content.
FOR TEXT-BASED CONTENT: We have created a collection on AO3 for the event, in order to gather all the awesome Karin fics. Posting to AO3 is therefore encouraged but not required. We suggest setting up a “preview” tumblr post with the summary and perhaps a short snippet of your fic and a link to your full piece, which we will then share. If you choose to host on tumblr, please put anything more than a couple hundred words under a read more to facilitate easy scrolling.
FOR IMAGE- OR VIDEO-BASED CONTENT: If you choose to host your content on a non-tumblr website, we suggest creating a “preview” image for tumblr. Link to the full creation in the body of the post. (You can make images links on tumblr, but the link will break under some circumstances, so we don’t suggest it.) You can also post art to the AO3 collection if you desire, although AO3 doesn’t have image hosting services. (You’ll have to host it somewhere else, like tumblr, and then insert the image into a blank fic. This is an uncommon but legit use of AO3. See FAQs.) - While we accept all original Karin-focused content, we do require any post we reblog to be “SFW,” with any “NSFW” content either in an external link or under a read more, with common sense content warnings. For this event, we define NSFW as any explicit sexual or graphic content more extreme than what one might expect from canon, as well as any content the average person might find disturbing, such as dubcon or especially upsetting themes. The idea here is that followers of the event should expect to see on this blog posts containing anything Karin might reasonably be seen doing in canon, and then can make a decision about whether or not they want to open content that has her doing anything more spicy/graphic/disturbing/etc (and also allow people to safely check for new creations while in public or at work LMAO).
- “Dead dove” is not an appropriate warning by itself. Warnings must indicate what content actually is, not just severity.
