I'd be lying straight to your face if I said this game didn't have quite a few problems, but everything I say is meant to be constructive so please listen to it. firstly, the game is lacking originality, a lot, I really would have loved to see an original touch to the sort of style or gameplay, just something to break up what is just mostly the same thing over and over again with some extra enemies here and there. technically it follows the theme but realistically the execution of it, felt like the whole thing was thought of within the span of 10 seconds. it is very important to think out or plan out how you want to go about the theme. the art as well, now I know not a lot of people are just going to wake up one day and suddenly be DaVinci, but it would definitely help the rating of the game if it had more of a soul to the art it uses. as a concept and actual game, it lacks the one thing that pulls a game together, ideas. but I really hope you improve from this game onwards:3

thanks for the kind words, i  really am proud of what ive done but i know for sure the next games i make will be much better.

i'll check out your platformer in a moment:)

I really dislike how the art varies from pixel art to quite blurry graphics or just straight up hd graphics, the overall game loop is really nice but i find that the audio all around is a bit unfitting. its definitely not a bad game though, i just think it lacks a lot of polish.

i'd say try to have a strict range of how bit your pixel art can be, the worst thing you can do is put a lot of effort into art that doesn't even fit into the game(from which i've got no idea if this is an art pack or something other). and for the audio, i don't know what the creative process for the game was, but i'd say try to make everything audio related after you have a general feel for how the game will play out, that way it will be more fitting. there are lots of easy to use sfx generators like chiptune, but sometimes it might be easier to get what you want by recording it on a mic. but still a pretty fun game, cant wait to see what yall come up with in the future:3

i'll try :3

sorry about that, when i was making it, it was just kinda to suit myself without thinking about how someone else might dislike it..

i really enjoy games with a narrative aspect to it so if you do get a team seen, i wish you good luck:3

fl studio and time, lots of time. like centuries worth of time. oh and you also gotta sell your soul to get people to hear it, this is a niche tip.

(i use fl studio AND audacity but only audacity after to mix up the parts i dont quite like as much, either wway your gonna be openning fl studio a lot to just close it before you start getting somewhere AND you cant expect to make something cool first try)

yeah sorry about the gameplay, its just stitched together from the first map so the only really cool thing i could fit in was the rainbow glass at the end, thanks for commenting:>

thank you so much, i actually tried to make it so that if a munchy is too close to the elevator it stops moving but i didnt account for when there is lots of them squished up into a little bubble, maybe i should have given them the pathfinding  obsticle behavior idk. and for the needed boxes i didnt even realize i had to do that until like a day after i submitted when it just crossed my head. but maybe in the future i'll try to do something different with a similar style so i can encorporate all of the feedback ive gotten for this.

:3

definitely putting myself very far out there with this one but, i can make music, i can do some pretty ok cover art, and while i dont have much to show for that, if i get the right idea passed onto me, i can definitely make something really cool to help out your game. although i dont want to share any of the prizes in any way shape or form. yall can keep that gate closed.

i could definitely help with music and art since i wouldnt call myself a pro at it and ive not much to show for myself but i do dabble a lot in unique art styles.

that being said, i will also be making my own game, which wont be a problem since im really good with multitasking but maybe not constant availability for communication. if your fine with that then my discord is _pancakeperson1

GiYS, ObViaSliY thi a-je riquermunt is, five to twelf, it sae so on thi poll:D

which engine did you use?

ive got some experience making music but goodness ive got no idea how to do the whole 8-bit style. but im definitely not apposed to a duo, so i guess i'll see once the theme rolls around:3

thank you so much, i would have probably done more polishing to the game if i had started earlier(i started 3 days before the deadline lol), and i actually did want to make it so that when you die you begin from the start but it was becoming to hard to get to the end of the game and also considering i had to put time into fixing bugs i'd see along the way. but i think the current way fits well enough. maybe i wouldve made it so that the boxes would reset when you die but im lazy and im like half sure i cant update my game... thanks for the feedback

i guess your right, although it wasnt exactly my first instinct to speedrun it so maybe make a simple tutorial level outside of the actual game part thing,(IF you make something similar sometime after this)

absolutely no problem.

way too fun for something so simple.

i absolutely adore this, its really simple but really fun. the jump physics and character animations could be improved aswell as the sfx.

i know this defintiely wasnt easy to make so try not to take offense to anything i say. this game is just a bit unoriginal and unmatching to the theme, while technically you can build upwards, there is not really a final goal related strictly to the theme. but i definitely see a lot of potential in you as a game developer as a whole. i'd say try to experiment more with how you make up your projects, whether its a game or some other form of media, if it even is media related, just try to experiment as much as possible with it.

would have really appreciated some easier parts to the game but as a whole kinda lacks stylistic choices and ive seen this idea executed in many ways before so it doesnt really end up being as fun and original as i assume it was *shooting* to be but overall pretty solid.

and also i found a bug where if you collide with one of the physics objects that you don't assign to the player in a weird spot then you just spring up really high, but that might be more of a gdevelop physics engine problem

this is really cool but i cant lie to you the gameplay concept is great but really hard to get a hold of, and can be a bit unfun when you have to restart every time you run out of the equipment thingmajigs. i guess i would just recommend making a tutorial level that is like extremely easy because otherwise the current one kinda throws you off into a pit from which if you dont time your moves properly you are banished to live there forever.. unless you press r, but other than that i absolutely love the artstyle and animations.

sorry for that, ive updated the description of the game just now to reflect the controls.

i hate to say this but unfortunately my inspirations are very limited  since i actually create most of my projects game related or not on a computer that only uses ethernet connection. but i can say that most of the graphical personality comes from the music because when i made it i had a sort of idea of how it would fit into the game so yeah. i'll be sure to check out somewhere whenever i get the time,  or... wifi?

sorry about the controls, i'll fix that right now. i actually dont know what somewhere is.. although a while back i made a geometry dash level called somewhere but it is not even remotely similar lol

i would like to mention that the spawns are dictated by activity, if you just spam w then you could actually break the game lol. should have probably made that more clear though..

just to clear up a few things,
1: the deadline for me was 9pm

2: this is my first time making a game for a jam, forgive me if i sound a bit slow.

So yesterday, i submitted my game, when i submitted it to itch.io it was 8:53PM, although after the deadline i updated it twice,

the first update being to fix that i forgot to make the music loop,(consider that i was making the music just a few hours prior) @9:07PM
the second update being a visual bug for the endscreen.@9:30~PM
but just about 8 minutes before @8:45PM i submitted to itch.io, i uploaded it to gd.games, from which i did not update the bugs to be fixed.

though shortly after since i am not an adult and therefore still have parents, i had to go to sleep. so i could not make this message literally any earlier.

I really put a lot of effort into the game over the course of the second half of the jam, and i would be extremely dissapointed to not even have a chance because of what i can only assume was a fault on my part that at the time i hadnt even realized.

i really like this visual style so far, im also making a sort of shooter game, i really hope you pull this off when before the deadline because it looks like you could get into the top 15

cant wait to make something for this, seems like a refreshing game jam for me.

super cool game, should definitely place in atleast the top 20 once the jam is over

this is genuinely a virus, installed it on my computer and now im using a usb installation of windows to restore my pc to an older version. DO NOT install this, for your own sake
