Was hard to deal any damage but i really loved the rain effect and the 3D terrain reminded me of the terrain editor for the 1st Medieval Total War if you opted to make really steep hills in the siege level mode.

Nice minimalist game!

standouts

- the progression where your character sprite AND the pickup-items change per level

- clean response times and smoothness of graphics

- cleverly put the buy a coffee and paypal links in there

(i do something similar as a musician i have the URL buttons of the streaming services like spotify soundcloud etc in my games when i finish developing them far enough so a person can click and go to the same music that is at-the-moment playing, see this in Clover Delve and some other games i did)

-smart use of external links!

This is beautiful 

1) you did isometric which is so so hard and people had a lot of hate for Zaxxon in the 80's so managing to get isometric to work with a flight thing is doubly impressive.

2) you mixed the graphic styles which is always fun and tongue-in-cheek that the plane is kind of a different deal than the terrain.

3) i liked how the flame propagation triggered me to think of the very very first SimCity game in late 80's or early 90's.

4) A+ for effort having a whole bunch of missions to choose from.

I'm always a sucker for voxel stuff because in the back of my mind i want to resurrect Flight Sim Toolkit by DoMark from the 90's.  Visually this felt very clean and the controls were maybe a little wonky but the responses were smooth.  I don't personally know enough GTA because i'm an old :) So i didn't really like -do- any objectives just drove around.

Anyway it felt nice lol.

It's my fault that i didn't pay better attention how to move the drone rather than the robot, from my standpoint i launch the drone and it just trucks off to the right-side of the screen and never comes back.

Otherwise being as I write things with big vision that are only partly realized most of my games, i vibe with people building depth into their game even something feels off.  So i gave pretty good marks to this one.

Everything on this game seems professionally done so I'm most pleased.

Most gratified.  I was a little worried about the minimum AI use but i needed the scaffolding off Rosebud to get started,  in terms of really being able to code, I'm kinda a SAMS book circa 2005 "teach yourself blah in 21 days" level except vibing is inadvertently teaching me debugging just because it has to explain itself to me (....?)

So it's not nothing-skill it's...like a Gen X'er who never got to code for pay in the industry but every 5 years went back and pretended i was about-to furiously, then aborted over'n'over

The other thing is I am partial to the font and the graphic style because as a kid i played ultima 4 and 5 all the way through and this felt like ultima 6's pixel style and almost exactly the letter-font, lolz

This got 5 in all things and i'll tell you why.  Immersive, and the tutorial was progressive and baked in which is an excellent style.  The music was minimal without being overbearingly repetitive.  The twists as the game got harder were great.  And I especially liked the complexity that the health of the sand castle -counted- as sacrificial kills because i was surprised that i went from level 7 to level 8 on the way out of the game trying to die in purpose because i have to get up and go somewhere else in a bit for an appointment lol.

Yeah.  It concerns me that the -protruding- square things, i didn't get them rotating with the surface nor wire them in to do stuff.

Could be a stale artifact from earlier in development.

It's a little like turning on the afterburners on a jet fighter in costs though :)

if i use my voice for the base sounds can i use a DAW to somewhat pitch bend so long as there are no actual instrument-synth things

like vocoding but the voice is ALSO the carrier instead of an instrument like voice in BOTH SLOTS (assuming it won't just reject this?)

and using the voice with the pitch bending and tempo stretching to get timing right

all the DAW manipulation -short- of using non-voice components?  as long as the human voice is the Base of it all

Much appreciated and everyone's right that it does have that limitation that it was vibed without loading design docs so the AI had issues bending back 'towards true mechanical interaction'

I mean this is the trouble with a badly specified (in this case....absent entirely!) design document at the -start- of the AI process.

maybe i should have fed it old scans of Rocky's Boots manuals, some PDF from Robinett's game in the 80's. lol

But gratified you gave it a try. With start-material crammed in there in the attachments, maybe the AI would have less-been about herding cats most of the jam length :)

This is a point because now these things can take in scraps of guidance at the start and produce far better assets/etc.

In just the last few months it's no longer only-text-input.  So, that's now a thing :)

All that you have said, is spot on.  Always nice to hear from a more formal reviewing process.

Vibing unfortunately is still in this intermediate phase where one does not always win the arguments one makes with the prompt interactions. :)

Hu-Nam is prior to finding that I can just switch from Sonnet up to Opus.

That said, Opus's token consumption rate is like an F-14 with the afterburner constantly running.  Sonnet probably IS the correct cruise-mode for the bulk of the development.

 check "Flight of the Flightless" on my page for a better taste of where Opus got me out of an impasse (it has about a week and a half of credit burn invested into it BEYond their jam-ending phase).

Which brings an interesting parallel to doing manual synthesizer tracks for the Music Jams on Itch without tightening the tempo to be on-beat, and that occurring through "Alpha Remasters" a full year later sometimes 18 months.

Which is our jams are just the start, or the middle, not the end :)

I was really pleased with this (though I'm terrible at it, i've learned my own skill at the game is not the point of rating over time lol).  I liked the touches where the gears slowly move  on the walls and the fact the controls are 3D presented in the opening room while you break the shell which cleverly keeps you there as a strategem long enough to read the controls.  Fine psychological work, that.

Being a recluse i was looking for an automatically-controlled opponent 1-player option but since the rest of this game is really so nice i could see how that would have taken longer than the jam to make that (other than have it randomly issue attacks)

Every other way though this game is top notch.  Would recommend.

The immediacy of immersion on this is really sharp, the choice of C/C++/Emscripten which I am now reminded to try, gives clean fast execution and i think the minimal audio is part of the genius of this implementation.

I was right-away able to get in and not really need to understand what was going on because the minimalism was so direct.  A lot of Life-game implementations are kind of boring to work with and this was just perfectly side-stepping that defect especially with the audio as the pleasant guide.

Your Friendly Developer has no idea either, I mean it was the result of arguing back and forth with AI without a proper design document so it was only gradually teased into a game.  It just boils down to "hopefully clump things together and hit X to autosolve and walk around.  Weird interactions will happen which might kill you like a traditional roguelike.  Good luck!"   And the after-descriptions are valid to the combos of the pieces but other than that its just totally irrational.

Outstanding minimalist game in the best sense of running crisply, being minimal like game jams on Itch really want, and yet having constraints of physics that force interesting choices (Sid Meier always big on "interesting decisions"). Kind of like a little spirit of Lode Runner mixed with the unforgiving puzzle platformers like VVVV.

I have  a soft spot for low poly voxel because I liked Flight Sim Toolkit in the early 90's. The only thing in gameplay is it was hard for me to get the gun back forward pointing once it was totally backwards of the direction i was moving.  (I mean, that's Skill Issue but maybe a key to auto snap it to the front for newbies, after which it can freely move again)

Perfect internet-of-things theme and concept.  People saying that the minigames could have varied and they're technically correct, the best kind of correct, but if this game was expanded it makes sense that Per Building(!) the minigame could be mostly the same and then different minigame types would just happen when this game is larger and you keep taking the Roomba to different places around town or the world.

The Jam competitions on Itch are for the most part very loose and friendly in criterion and their themes are often optional so that you can be in them, just to keep your creative momentum without necessarily rigidly adhering. (Often, not always)

I'm a composer who's secondarily as of not that long ago, also making games.

Yeah this was the tough part of doing it in 2 days, and probably why a Real chemistry modeling thing costs 600 bucks haha.

I mean we're talking about a random walk where at the earlier point every stereo-center was wrongly the same four groups like H, O, NH3 and COOH, i was in process of talking it into the Metal Ions.  Maybe it's telling the truth about why it's too easy to solve or maybe it's lying to me about doing Real Chem.  I did tag it a few times to get it to come to heel.

Just not necessarily Enough Times.

This is my own criticism exactly fighting with the AI over and over to try to get it to do real chemistry

if: it's accomplishing vague edutainment by making people read the biographies and the stuff around the experiments historically

then: it's succeeding

if: it's trying to do real chemistry

then: it's crashing out because forcing that to be True, requires More Iterations arguing at Claude

So that's in hard-agreement.
