Grass and Trees 2 – Purple Twilight

Twilight. Purple twilight. Trees. It's getting dark and dark. This forest can be very dangerous. You should cross it quickly. Before the purple night arrives. Faster. There should be dire wolves on the night of the purple moon. Your character is still too weak for them.

So run through this evening. Through the trees. There's a village there. And a city. You can't miss them! The trees can be prickly. And they can catch you. Stopping your run. It's like a maze here. And you have to. Turn in different directions. The main thing is to move forward in the right direction.

The black wolves with yellow eyes are large. Half your height and very massive. They'll appear soon. And they'll see you first. And then you'll have to run even faster. But there's time. You need to cross this forest.

A purple sunset. So attractive. You can admire it for a long time. But it can be both beautiful and dangerous. Enormous eyeless worms will emerge from the ground. It's time to start moving. Through this forest. The orange earth is so dense, but only in appearance. There are huge worms crawling underground.

Run through the forest. It's like a maze. The trees may not let you through. And before it gets too dark. It will take some time. Just reach the other side of the forest. There's a city. That's salvation.

This is a fantasy world. Grass and Trees 2. New grass and new trees with a new story. Sunset, almost night and fantasy. And you run through the forest. Purple sunset. This is such a world.

Digital Reader version 0.1 – the software part of the solution

Time passed, and finally I completed another of my developments. Another direction. It's software and literature. And a bit of drawing. And color selection. This is Digital Reader. It's software that allows you to read short texts. It's designed as an MS-DOS viewer in Norton Commander. There are two stories for this version. One is fantasy. The other is science fiction. And you can read them in Digital Reader.

This is a comprehensive solution for reading short stories. This is the Reader program. That's what it's called. You read stories in it. Small in size, in theory. Written in the QB64 Phoenix Edition programming language. This is another variant of Qb64. My first attempt. But it's very similar to QB64, so you could say they're the same thing.

In this first post, I should talk about the software. This is the Reader program. A simple program for reading short texts. Stories. I created it primarily for this purpose. So that readers can read my stories using this program, I wrote the reader myself.

It looks like Norton Commander or Volkov Commander. Retro styling. Everything is listed at the bottom. Menu. Up and down arrows move forward and backward through pages. For convenience, there's a function to jump from the first page to the last. And vice versa. You can also hide this menu. And there's an information menu. It contains all the information used in the program: color palettes, text titles, page count. Everything is controlled by the numbers 1, 2, and 3. And 0 exits the program. Simple. Like on MS-DOS.

I thought long and hard about it, but overall, the program is ready. And it's ready to use. I named the program "Reader." That's one thing. Digital Reader is a comprehensive solution. Software + stories. And styling. The program is simple and ready to use. I was thinking about writing version 1.0, but I named it version 0.1. It's like a starting point. Together, it's like the comprehensive Digital Reader solution. Version 0.1 is just the beginning. So, Reader 0.1 works perfectly. Version 1.0 could have been written. All the intended functions are implemented.

There's also a Launcher included. From there, you launch what you need, just like from a .bat file. There are two stories now. That's where you choose. So, you need to launch the Launcher. It's just a text menu, like MS DOS. You select which story you want to read by pressing 1 or 2. The Reader program launches, which already has the text for the desired story loaded.

That's basically it for the software. But another topic related to the software is styling. A set of color schemes. Each story comes with its own design theme. Four options here: Story text color. Story background color. Text color for control buttons. Background color for control buttons. Four colors in the RGB palette from 0-255 for each component.

Thus, the Reader program takes data from the story folder. And each story has its own folder. There's a file with the color scheme there. An image file. A text file. Each story for the Reader program is a folder containing three files: a color scheme, an image, and the story text.

This Launcher passes the path to the story folder as a parameter to the Reader program. It then grabs it all and applies it. It loads the color scheme, the text itself, and the image with the illustration. So, the Reader program has a launch parameter. This is the path to the story folder. In the format described. It should contain the color scheme, the text with the story, and the image.

In fact, the Reader works just like that, if you launch it. That's the secret. By default, it looks for the Data folder, which is where all of this should be. The format is the same: the Data folder should contain the color scheme, the text with the story, and the image.

This is the software side of the issue. And the styling. Each story is planned as a separate folder, containing a file with the color scheme, an illustration, and the text itself. The text is in text form. The line length is 128 characters. The Reader has 45 lines per page. 45 lines is one page. That's how pages are counted. Plus, page number one is always the image and the title of the story. It's like a title page. So, the first page of the text file containing the text itself is page number two.

The Reader program loads from the Launcher, and you see the story's color scheme, the illustration, and the text itself. That's the idea. That's why I wrote my own software. I dream of writing my own software. Office-grade software. For simple tasks. Simple solutions.

So, welcome to the Launcher and the Reader!

A zombie fell out of the bushes after a mosquito bite.

Autumn leaves glowed like light bulbs in the dark light. A swamp. It was dark here. And damp. Very cool. The wind was already blowing cold. It was autumn, after all. But the zombie didn't feel any of this. And didn't understand. He practically fell out of the bushes and walked. Along the swamp.

Somehow, he knew the swamp was dangerous. And he had to walk along the edge. He walked a little slower than a normal person. And he even remembered. How he'd been bitten by a mosquito. And contracted some kind of virus. A week ago. He itched. And then reddish dots appeared. Like bleeding. He didn't have time to be scared. Everything happened quickly. The process was fast. He'd just gone to bed. And woke up in the bushes. Was it a dream? A transformation after an illness. The virus had done something to him. Some strange, large, green mosquito. He remembered that, too.

His mind was still working. He clearly remembered certain scenes as if they had happened yesterday. He was itching. And walking. Then bruises appeared. And he fell. And woke up in the bushes. He hadn't gone to bed. He had gone to bed the day before, at home. And then, during the day, he had gone into the forest for a picnic. On his day off. He loved wandering here. It always calmed him. And now here he was wandering.

He was almost fine. He had just gotten hurt. And a mosquito had bitten him and infected him. The virus had done something to him. And very quickly. He was walking along the swamp. Sometimes his legs wouldn't obey him, and he would grab fallen branches. Or leaves. He looked down. At his feet. He adjusted his movements. And moved on. Overall, everything was fine. He looked at his hands in amazement. As if he should see or understand something. But he just looked at them. That big mosquito was spinning in his head. So green. Swollen.

It was beautiful here in the swamp. He always liked to walk around these parts on his day off. It was almost night. Or evening. It gets dark faster in autumn. What leaves! He was fine, he could even walk around a tree. Or bend branches aside with his hands. He was sure of it. The main thing was not to drown in this swamp. How could he have slept in the bushes? But it wasn't cold at all. It wasn't cold for him. Maybe he had a fever? He'd have to see a doctor. But why did he have to sleep in the bushes?

He lost consciousness. He thought to himself, as if he were. He seemed to be feeling unwell. Some thoughts were clear. And then there was some kind of emptiness. As if he could see something clearly. And something was floating before his eyes. This was normal. It was dark here, after all. He remembered the way home. And that big mosquito. It was all green. Like the swamp. And big. And it was bloated all over. As if there was some kind of green in it. It was dark green. And he remembered the way home. The forest. The road. He needed to get to the road. He has a car there. And on the way home.

Mother rabbit is following her little rabbit. A beautiful sunset.

In a land where every day is a magical sunset. And many, many beautiful flowers. There lives a rabbit. His mother is now on her way to fetch him. To call him for dinner. The sun is already golden. It's time for a snack of carrot soup. And a carrot juice.

Mother rabbit is walking. And beautiful flowers are growing all around. All sorts of colors. A golden sunset. A beautiful warm summer evening. It's so beautiful here. It's like this every day here, and summer never ends. The little rabbit has run off somewhere. He always runs along this path. Somewhere far away.

He often plays here. With other kind and cheerful little animals. There are bunnies here. A mole and an ant, and a snail. They're all somewhere here. Mother rabbit climbed the hill and saw that yes, they had gone far away. Somewhere below. They were playing something and laughing. They were clearly having a lot of fun.

The snail was the first to notice mother rabbit. And all the little animals turned around. And headed back. It was time for dinner. Each to their own little house. They still had about 15 minutes to walk, then there was the hill. And there, waiting for them, was the rabbit's mother. Now they'd get there and go to dinner.

The rabbit has a lot of friends. And a lot to do. He studies. He goes to school. The mole with the glasses is the smartest. After school, they play computer games. And they play outside. Right until evening. The evening here really is very beautiful. Sometimes you can sit on the hill and just watch. For a long, long time. And there are a lot of hills here. You walk up the hill. A gentle slope. Then the hill itself. And then a descent down. Another gentle slope. Everything is like that here. Further on, there's a field. There's a flat surface. That's where all the little animals live.

Such a warm and nice evening. I don't even want to go into the little house. I'd like to play with my friends. With a snail, a mole, a beetle, a butterfly, a bunny. And an ant. But that's okay. Everyone's going home. And tomorrow they'll continue the game.

There are such beautiful flowers growing everywhere here. Mama Rabbit looks at them. Mama Rabbit has lots of flowers growing in her garden too. Such a huge garden. Half the size of a field. A whole maze of flowers. And paths between them. And further on, other little animals have their own houses. In the shade of the trees. Beyond them, there's a river and a lake—that's where the frogs are. There's just a lot of water and everything is overgrown. The frogs float there on their floating houses. It's an amazing sight when the lanterns light up at night. On the river.

Grass and trees - someone's here

You're on a magical island. And there's a whole exploration of this magical place ahead. Different trees grow here. And the weather is fine. A high mountain lies ahead, which obscures your view of what's beyond. And the first thing you see is grass and trees. Birds are singing.

The island looks like a perfectly ordinary place. Birds. Birds are flying and singing everywhere. It's a beautiful place. But there's a figure behind the tree. It's something green. Like a lizard or a small creature. Or a small green goblin. Hiding behind the trees. There's someone else on the other side. It looks like you should get your sword and magic ready. A walk through this forest won't be easy.

You remember sailing on a ship. And now you're here. Among the grass and trees. On this island. At least it's not icy or covered in snow. Someone has already fired an arrow in your direction. But very ineptly. The arrow fell a few meters away. There's laughter in the bushes. Little green men. Lemmings, goblins. You couldn't see them. Another arrow flies. It goes off somewhere. A very clumsy shot.

You hid behind a large, green tree. To watch. And you saw little green men in armor pacing back and forth. They'd lost sight of you. Yes, this island is clearly already inhabited. And they're not expecting guests. There's probably a village up ahead. You saw some of them from the ship last night. Cities. Or villages. You should move further into the forest. To find shelter.

A zombie emerges from the lab.

A white corridor. Almost sterile white. And empty. A bright yellow LED lamp glows. The lamps repeat every few meters. They cut through the whiteness with their warm yellow glow. It's already night. Closer to midnight. And there's no one here. A zombie emerges from the lab.

It's unclear where he came from. Or how he got into the corridor. But it's a fact. A zombie is in the corridor. Walking down a long white corridor. For him, it's like a second life. But it's full of despair. He hobbles slowly. And waves his arms. Grasping the walls. As if they were his only support.

Occasionally, he makes sounds. More like screams. He walks down the corridor. These LED lamps have never seen anything like this. He's already walked the entire long corridor. And there it is – the sign – exit. A green sign. With white text – exit. A zombie is heading for the exit.

The zombie almost falls once. He constantly touches the walls. And, leaning on them, he slowly hobbles toward the exit. The exit is very soon. He waves his arms. And moves on. As if feeling the air. The zombie can only go forward. And it’s hard for him to understand that he can go anywhere else. His head is in complete chaos. Everything is seething, as if in an ocean. And not a second of calm or clear consciousness. Only chaos. And a constant pulsation. He goes. Step after step. To the exit. It’s a zombie marathon. And he’s almost finished it. He’s a participant in this run down the corridor. And he’s succeeding. The door with the sign “Exit” is even closer.

Again and again. The zombie takes a step. And doesn’t stop. When he almost falls, he tries to grab the wall with his hands. And tries to say something. But all that comes out is a scream. It’s impossible to utter words. His head is in chaos. Thousands of mosquitoes seem to be biting. It’s as if he can’t see anything in front of him. His vision seems to be malfunctioning. It seems he can see after all. Sometimes it's bad – through a veil of red. It's blood before his eyes. Sometimes it's clear. Sometimes everything swims before his eyes. The brain has a hard time processing the signals from the eyes. He can't feel anything with his nose. There's no charm. And he can't breathe. He realized this. Consciousness is weak. But it's there. A spark of consciousness. His back hurts as if after hard work.  

He'll get a bonus at work for this corridor. A thought. Incomprehensible. And everything drowns in a pulsation like an ocean. Thousands of mosquitoes. That sensation again. A burning. It's all just in his head. He doesn't really feel the pain. It's just that his brain is so heavy. His head feels like it's aching. What's wrong with him? He needs to get to the exit. The answer is there. He thinks he's hurt himself. Thought. This is good. Everything will be fine.

He throws both hands at the door. The door swings open. There's the night air. And night. The light from the streetlamps. And the street. He needs to go there.

Bunny and Mom – Bunny Goes to Lunch

Mom goes to see the bunny. The bunny is still little. The bunny is sitting on the grass and eating something tasty. Lettuce leaves, carrots. He still has a lot to grow. He will learn. He will run and jump a lot. And he is already helping his mom grow carrots. It's a sunny summer now. It's like this every day here.

Mom goes to see the bunny. She tells him it's time to go to his house. There's delicious soup waiting for him. And his favorite cartoon. It's about to start right now. The bunny loves the sun so much, eating delicious grass, that he forgets. He runs around the field. Plays with bees and insects. Jumps after beetles in the grass. He met a mole. But he didn't follow him into the underground passage. A cat is running around somewhere. An elephant is walking around. A dog comes too. Lots of people live here.

The lettuce leaves are so delicious and fresh. The carrots are so crunchy, it makes your ears twitch. A crow is flying around. Bunny offered salad. But the crow doesn't want salad. Bunny has fun here every day. It's time to run and watch a cartoon and eat some delicious soup. With herbs. Basil, rosemary, dill, lolo lettuce, and so many other things. Bunny knows about salad too. And in his little room, he grows a carrot, just one, on the windowsill. And a few lettuce leaves.

As soon as the sun rises and smiles through the window, Bunny immediately runs outside. To run and play! There's still dew on the ground. After the night rain. At night, the rain waters everything that grows. A light drizzle falls at night. And during the day, the sun shines. And it's so nice. In the mornings, it can still be cool. In the river, for example. On a sunny summer day, when a snail brings a letter every day. Once. Not every day. The bunny draws the sun in the evenings. In his sketchbook. He's good at it. That's what his mother says. The bunny laughs. He's very happy. The bunny is always here on the path in front of the house. When it's time for lunch. But the bunny doesn't remember exactly when. And sometimes he forgets. Then his mother comes for him. And calls him into the house.  

It's almost time for lunch. The bunny just realized. His mother has arrived. That means it's already time for lunch. He can leave everything. There's no escape. And go to the house. Eat delicious soup. And watch his favorite cartoon. About kind animals. Sit on a chair. And watch TV. Eat soup leisurely.  

Then the bunny will run into the field again. It wasn't long enough for the whole lunch. And he needs to look around. As if it's a new field. There's a lot of grass. You can get lost in the field. But you can always find your way back. In a pinch, someone will show you. A cow, for example. They have their place there. Rabbits live there. The field is really big. Delicious peas grow in the field. He and the mole go to eat them.

The crow flies everywhere. And sees everything. At worst, he'll wait for the crow. And ask. The crow always gives hints. The field is interesting too. And then to the house. Where the garden and vegetable patch are. There are so many interesting things there too.

The chub is a fish with a head!

The chub lives in a very interesting and beautiful place. It's either a pond or an entire ocean. Something of both at the same time. There's plenty of space here. And a whole underwater landscape. Everything is overgrown with green algae. More than edible. And extremely tasty. It's worth traveling – tastes are different everywhere. And it's always delicious. There are drop-offs into the water here.

And entire pillars rising up. It's all dry land. And underwater. And it's striving upward. That's the uniqueness of the landscape. The landscape here is beautiful. And most importantly, all this beauty is underwater. The chub swims a lot here. It really enjoys exploring everything here. Especially since it has never reached the edge. It's simply an ocean here. But it's like a pond. For the chub. Its personal world. And the fish has a personal computer. And not just one. Everything is right under the water.

The fish swims up and communicates online with other fish. Plays games. Programming. Trying out new software. And there are already a lot of computers. Chub even made a map of which computer is which. It's quiet here, and no one distracts you. Be it a game or software, or a programming task. It's nice underwater!  

You can go down into these chasms. It's darker there. And even cooler. But not by much. You can make a place for yourself there. Store Dendy cartridges there, for example. And in another chasm, build a collection of MS-DOS games on disks and floppy disks. The water is excellent; it's a great swimmer.

There's even underwater tea growing in this place. You have to pick it and drink the tea. All sorts of different varieties. Around these pillars rising up. And there are portals to other worlds at the bottom. These chasms sometimes lead to other worlds. Sometimes they're empty. And sometimes someone lives there. Or even lots of cheerful fish swim there. You can find lots of friends that way. It's never boring here. A wonderful underwater world. Chub is very pleased. That he has such a world. A chub can find a very small depression like this. And sleep in the shade. It's like night. Very comfortable. And there are plenty of such places. Some of the pillars that go up don't even reach the land. But you can see the sun and lots of sand. You can sit there and relax. The fish has a TV and a chair there. In one of these places.

It's quite deep here. And it's like outer space. A huge expanse. And a variety of landscapes. Which adds variety to this place. And the algae here are so delicious. They vary slightly in color. The fish map this algae. And record the taste. They share with other fish what tasty things each brings. There's a whole world here where fish share tasty things with each other. After all, something grows and you can plant it yourself.

A whole underwater garden. Some beautiful plants. And tasty things to eat. And you can also exchange Dendy cartridges and MS-DOS games. That's also something. There's a portal here for fans of underwater computer games. The fish swim a lot. And he thinks about all sorts of things. He remembers what happened yesterday. And what's interesting to do today. And what to put off until tomorrow.

Chub is a big fish and programs a lot in a variety of systems. For example, his favorite system is MS-DOS. Rybka makes a lot of fun games, lots of underwater strategy games. Turn-based and real-time. And he writes underwater fantasy. Then he'll make a game. And during breaks, he spends a lot of time swimming and eating delicious seaweed. Oh, and he can also listen to music on audio cassettes.

The pond frog sings songs in a magical pond.

The pond frog sits in the shade or in the sun. It depends. And watches everything around. It's a wonderful pond. The water is green. The colors are just like the frog. Water lilies grow here. Delicious algae grows underwater. There are lots of interesting things lying on the bottom. There are driftwood. And on the surface, there are water lilies. And sunshine. You can shelter from the sun in the grass or in the water.

The pond frog loves this pond. It has its own little house here. One above the water, one under. And the frog builds itself a gazebo on the lilies. To drink tea. And to dive. There's a place in the shade. And a place in the sun. Whatever your heart desires.

You can even float on a water lily. Slowly. And float to the very middle of the pond. And then dive. So that only your eyes are visible. You can float. The frog spends a lot of time underwater, too. There's sand there, too. And it's wonderful to watch the water vary in color. In different places. From dark tea to golden. And there's also a variety of greens. The pond has so many interesting things. It's a magical pond for a frog.

Trees provide shelter from the scorching sun. And there's a meadow nearby. And there's a spot with swamp water. Grass grows there. And everything is always in the water just right. And then the water gets thinner and thinner. And only then does the grass grow tall and dry around. It's not so hot in the tall grass. And there's shade.

The frog also knows places with large puddles where it can sit and get wet. There are these little holes in the field. And they vary in depth. It's just fun to jump in and sit there. And sometimes it's so deep—an entire stream starts there. So much so that only the eyes can be seen.

The frog is everywhere here. In the grass. In the field. In the stream. In the pond. The pond is the main spot. The frog spends most of its time here, and it's where the frog makes its home. There's a river. With golden water. There's a part of the river with dark water. The water there is dark. And you have to swim to the shore. And there's sand. Tall grass. And trees. Beyond that is the forest. The frog doesn't go there. It tries to stay near the water. And there's water everywhere here. One way or another, all the waterways lead somewhere familiar. To the pond. It's the central part.

So you won't get lost. You just walk along the water. And you'll come to the pond. You'll recognize familiar streams. Familiar hummocks. Grass. Puddles. Familiar places are everywhere here. You can travel along the golden river. Or swim along the deeper river. Whatever you like. You can run across the entire field. Even jump. Or sit in the grass. It's nice there in the morning after the rain. It's humid.

The frog tries to come back for lunch and tea. And when it's time to go to bed. And so she hops around everywhere. There's an even bigger pond there. It's probably even more magical. Every pond is a magical place. A whole world to explore. Here's a frog floating on a water lily. And looking around.

The frog is also a musician and a singer. Croak-croak. A cheerful frog. Singing her songs everywhere. When she can't hear the grasshoppers in the field. The main thing is that there's song everywhere. That's what the frog thinks. It's not boring here at all.

A shrew – on the sand and in the sun

A shrew is sitting on the sand in the sun. There's a lot of grass here. It's orange from the sun. And the shrew is sitting here now. Looking around. There's sand here. Quite dense. And it's orange from the sun. Probably. The shrew just came out of its burrow. A long passage. And it brought it here. To a sunny spot. Being in the sun is also a pleasant thing.

All the kind little animals live here. They are kind and smart. And the shrew is in the sun. And underground. There are whole passages underground. Burrows. A world of its own. Above ground, too, is a world of its own. Sunlight. Grass. And sand. It depends where you emerge. The shrew has a map of the underground passages. But it doesn't understand much about what's above ground. Every time it emerges, it's surprised.

It's nice in the sun too. The sand is orange. And the grass is scorched by the bright sun. There's a red brick lying nearby. Someone put it here. Last week. And it's still there. It'll probably stay there forever. The world above ground is a complete unknown for the little animal. The shrew has already made friends with various little creatures. A mole. A mouse. But there are still many amazing things ahead.

The shrew sits and basks in the sun. It can be cool underground. The shrew has plenty of tasty roots in store. There, underground. And dry leaves. There are some, too. It's comfortable to wrap up in them and sleep. It's nice to remember my underground home. The surface is its own world. Everything is so sunny. And I still have many days to explore. Further on, there are thickets of grass. It can be dark. And cozy.

Previously, the shrew only lived underground. And at night or at dusk, it would crawl to the surface. But how smart the little animal became. A whole world opened up. There is a surface. There is so much here. The sun is shining. It's wonderful. So many new things. There's sand. And small pebbles. All sorts. Light and dark.

Now the shrew will look around. And decide where to go next. There's an underground passage somewhere in the grass. She can find it. And navigate from it. The grass has its own unique features, too. The grass is green. Beetles live there. The little animal has already met the cockchafer and the rose chafer. And other beetles. Beetles are kind fellows. Always cheerful. They crawl around. They explore everything. There are also ants. They are also busy fellows.

The shrew knows them now, too. Here she sits in the sun. And thinks about the world above ground. How amazing it is. A breeze caresses her fur. The warm sun warms her. In the grass, the beetles are already calling her to come have some tea. The ants have made some kind of tea. From leaves. Perhaps she should go inside and have some tea. The little animal will go to the grass to find beetles and ants. And it's nice on the sand. It can sit in the sun.

Tench - an underwater field and a treat all their own

This beautiful pond with golden sand is home to tench. There are delicious cubes right at the bottom. So delicious that you just want to swim here. The tastes are varied. And the fish swims here. It wags its tail. And its fins. It has a lot of them.

Delicious cubes. That's the specialty of this pond. The tench lives here. Up there, the water is so joyful and golden. You can hear the water murmuring from above. And the blue sky is more visible. So beautiful. And with clouds. The water is clear. And down here, it's not so hot. And the weather is just right. And there's lots of delicious food.

The fish has a home here. And an 8-bit console. And tea to drink. And food grows – all you have to do is swim out of its home. The sand is golden. And it creates a great mood. From morning until night. When you swim, you can go deeper. Like you're in the shade. Or you can swim higher. Into the very light. And into the very heat.  

The tench fish lives here. This is its own world. Of course, it swims to visit other fish and other worlds where a whole host of different fish swim. And then it swims back to its home. To sleep. To eat. And to admire the golden sand. So you sit on the sand. And just look at it. It's amazing. You remember something fun you did yesterday. What game you launched, what 8-bit cartridge you tried.  

The tench swims a lot. It's always great weather here for swimming. For seeing everything. The water is clear. You can see well here. And it's like an underwater meadow. With beautiful golden sand. New tasty cubes appear every time. And it even makes you want to swim further. To find out what flavors have appeared there. Here with fruit, there with bread. The main thing is to remember where everything appears. That's what the fish does. It records everything on its personal computer.

The tench swims a lot. And it knows this underwater clearing well. The fish's house is made of sand bricks. It makes them with its fins. And the fish's house is very large. And there are small houses. For when it wants something compact and cozy. But otherwise, there's always the big house. And the fish continues to build it. It's very long.

It swims well here. In the house, which is large and long. The fish has a whole collection of computers. They're arranged in a row. In a long corridor. And in another corridor, there are televisions. A common hedgehog – basking in leaves

A common hedgehog adores autumn. He loves to bask in autumn leaves. So varied. And so beautiful. For a hedgehog, autumn is a celebration before bed. So colorful. So many beautiful leaves. It's a joy. And everything is so colorful.

Here he is walking through a warm, dry autumn forest. Leaves are everywhere. Dark green earth. Here and there, soft moss. Pieces of dried leaves. And large leaves. Each leaf is like a painting. Such a beautiful pattern on each leaf. And a unique pattern every time. The hedgehog remembers it all. And then he dreams about it all winter long. You can practically never sleep. In his dreams, he continues to walk through the autumn forest.

There are so many leaves in the autumn forest. You can literally dig through them with your nose. And smell the fresh, warm autumn air. Catch the breeze. With every single needle. The wind is fresh. And warm. And then it gets a little colder, and the leaves become fewer. The hedgehog gets bored and goes to sleep until spring. In the spring, he wakes up. And he'll do his own thing all summer. And then he'll have a long holiday called leaves and autumn.

The hedgehog can even cover himself with leaves and sleep. He carries leaves home, too. You can drink tea with them. And cover yourself with them. Because there's such a beautiful autumn here, and the hedgehog lives here. Other animals choose worlds where there's only summer or something else. But the hedgehog needs autumn and a long summer. And he doesn't mind sleeping either. A whole season of sleep. So many dreams. The hedgehog is an artist, and in the spring he draws everything he's dreamed about. Such whimsical things. All because of the leaves.

Now the hedgehog is bathing in leaves. Taking a leaf bath. It's his favorite thing. Then he can dry off in the green moss. And for now, he needs to run around. And get tired. To fall asleep quickly. The hedgehog runs deep into the forest. And he sees the forest as endless. Trees. Leaves. And it's quiet here and nice. In the summer there is a field. In the summer the hedgehog is in the field. That's why he has a house at the edge of the forest. In front of the field.

Marbled Ferret – Birdsong and a Path

Marbled Ferret. He has such a bright back. And a cheerful tail. He emerged from the dry branches. Where he'd been for a while. The grass around him was still dry. As if after autumn. Yes, that's right. Everything is already turning green. And it's spring. And the branches are dry – after autumn. The Ferret knows this. He walked out onto the path. There are small stones.

The weather is great. The air is fresh. It's not too hot yet. But it's already warm and pleasant. It's wonderful that the grass has already grown. The branches are turning green. The Ferret looks around. The birds are already singing loudly. They're somewhere above. Just last year, the Ferret made friends with a huge number of birds. They are excellent musicians. And great conversationalists. Where can he find them now, those very birds?

The Ferret went to another world for the winter. And he was there all this time. Then he came here. And he fell asleep in the branches. And then he woke up. To spend the whole summer here again. There are many kind little animals here. A mole wanders around somewhere, too. A cow. Near the river or in the field. He needs to find them all. So the ferret went out onto the path to look. Was there anyone he knew?

So far, no one. This is a very big world. And it is constantly expanding. The ferret saw a new lump of earth appear before his eyes. And a week later. Small grass was already growing there. And a couple of weeks later. This was already a new part of the field. An amazing sight. The rabbit showed him this place. The rabbit is observant and noticed this. He shared his observations.

The ferret will probably follow the path for now. Maybe he'll see someone he knows. There are many interesting things ahead. And this path is long. He never walked all the way. He will walk slowly. Beyond there is a river and a field. Birds are singing in the branches. These are new birds. The ferret doesn't remember them. It's a world of intersections. And all sorts of little animals come here for the summer. Perhaps, like the ferret himself, they first found themselves here by accident. They were simply looking for a new place. And they ended up here. And now some of the little animals have come to like it here. And they remember this land. Just like the ferret.

But there's winter and autumn here too. Only in the summer is it warm and wonderful. Then it gets gloomier. Autumn is still nice. Golden autumn is beautiful. The ferret looked at the leaves a lot last year. Until it got cold. Perhaps he'll do the same this year.

Trout – dark green water and fish

Trout also lives in its own pond. The water is green here. Excellent water. Perfect. To do all its business here. To swim. To sleep. To do whatever. The pond is large. With branches off in different directions. It's more fun to swim here. The sand is very soft. You just sink into it. It's easy to bury yourself in it. And there's nothing else there. Just clean sand.

The trout swims around and thinks about all sorts of things. About computer games, magazines with pretty pictures, about songs and records, about funny cartridges. The fish have many hobbies in their fish world. Burying yourself in the sand is also fun. It's so soft. You just bury yourself in there, up to your eyes, and just sit there. Waiting for who knows what. But it's fun. That's how the fish spends its days.

This is the world of fish. Trout live here. They swim. They flap their fins. They swim and dive deeper. It's not that deep. Just perfect for such a fish. It rises higher. The water here is dark green. Everything around is the same. And you can swim into the portal to visit other fish. There's already a common space there for a wide variety of fish. And a wide variety of water. And a river. And the sea. And clear, transparent water. And all sorts of different types and shades of water. The main thing is to set up the portal and swim in.

There are many friends there. You can swim in the sea. The sea is an amazing thing. There's much more water there than in the pond. And much deeper. Down below, the water is already black. But the trout don't dive there. They swim in their own depths. There are many interesting things here.

And there's also clear water. With corals. A beautiful place. There are many rivers. And many other lakes and ponds. Lots of friends swimming there. There's always someone to talk to. And play with. And this is this fish's home. There's no one else here. And the fish swims here peacefully. Drinks tea. Plays a video game. Studies. Relaxes. Lots to do. Trout can also stir up sand from the bottom with their fins. It's fun. They flap their fins and their tail. And the sand rises from the bottom. And they scratch their backs as it settles. To shake it off, just rise higher and swim faster.

A steppe ferret on a bright day

A steppe ferret on a bright day. The sun is outside. Everything is dawning. And it's bright. And so beautiful. It's like every day is a holiday. The grass is bright. Even brighter in the sun. And even more delicious. Sand and earth. Everything is so interesting. The day is coming. The daylight is increasing. And now there will be more sun. This is a great joy for the ferret.

The ferret walks through the grass. And there is still grass. And sometimes the grass is thick, and sometimes not. He walks carefully. And looks around. Now it will soon be summer. He can bask in the sun. And think about those dreams he had. Although now the bright day drives all dreams away. Only the sun and daytime activity.

What else can he think about? He can walk to the river. Drink from the stream. Watch the sun play with the water's surface. The pond is alive. The water gurgles. And there are pebbles there. He can run across them to the other side. And there is a field and grass again. Hills. But not high ones.

The ferret walks slowly. He checks every bush. Under some of them, there are beautiful stones. All sorts. White ones. Black ones. Some the color of asphalt. Everything is interesting. The ferret collects them for his collection.

The ferret knows these places well. And soon, summer will come again. Again, days of fun. The ferret has been waiting for such days for a long time. And he makes his way to the river. The ferret has a wooden house on the other side. There, he will rest. And run along the hills. These hills are covered with all sorts of grass. The ferret can also dig holes in the sand. Or in soft soil. And plant flowers and grass. He actively does this too.

The sun shines brightly and warmly. A fresh breeze blows through his fur. It creates such a pleasant sensation. Someone needs to scratch you. It's truly the best day. And yet, it's only spring. And summer is still ahead. Just think, the ferret still has a whole summer ahead of him.

The ferret has already seen the birds. They're all here. I'll have to visit them and talk to them. Summer's coming! Plenty of grass. And the ferret moves on and on. Heading toward a familiar river. And there's a house there. And an owl lives there in a tree. But the owl won't wake up until evening. When the sun sets.

The ferret is in a great mood today and always. The brightest day. And every day is like that. Bright sun. Bright day. Sun in your eyes. Look away. And everything is orange. And then you see everything in bright light. Now it will be like this every day. The river is already babbling nearby. The ferret carefully pushes aside the grass. And moves toward the river.

Panda Ant – Walking Through a Field

Panda Ant is making his way through the grass. It rained this morning. And there are lots of drops of water. He can drink them. The water is delicious. And the grass is green. He can eat. Panda Ant often comes here. He's a builder. He loves to build things. Out of sticks. For example, he can build a house.

Just a couple of days ago, he finished making a house for a mole. The mole always digs the earth and lives underground. Now the mole will have a house above ground, too. Panda Ant built a tea house before this. For all the animals in this forest. And in the field. In the grass. You can come and have tea. Rabbit always makes new tea. He's always running around here. And making tea.

Panda Ant loves walking through the grass. Beautiful sky. Interesting earth. Everything is so fresh. After the rain. Fresh air. And soon there will be a warm summer day. It will be hot. It's very fresh now and so nice. There's a breeze blowing. The panda ant is walking along its path. A path across the edge of a field. There's a place with more grass. And there's a place with less grass. The grass is green. Just like the rabbit's green tea. I wonder if it's a coincidence or not. I can't find the time to ask the rabbit about it.  

The ant is also thinking about making a path here. So he can see where he's going. Put some sticks here. And make a path. Otherwise, walking through the grass feels like walking through a forest. Sometimes a chicken wanders here. Just like I told you. Of course, it's okay. It's a field.  

The ant has many friends, other ants. They live in a city. An anthill. There are many, many houses there. Many stories. Lots of ants live here. The city is also interesting. They have a TV and a radio there. But when you go far into the field, the signal weakens.  

The ant is walking. There's a stream far away. With fish. And then the forest. In the forest live wood ants. There are fir trees there. And it's so nice when the sunlight falls from the branches. There are lots of branches on the ground. From fir trees. A wonderful place. There will be another city there.

The ant walks along and rejoices. What a beautiful day today. How nice everything is. The sun and summer. And he's already seen many other kind little animals. His friends. Everything is nice here. The ant is fluffy. He likes being so fluffy. This makes him very different from other ants. Ants are kind and cheerful. And they even build cities.

The ant walks along, here's a blade of grass. Here's another one. You can climb it. And how to look from above. But the view is usually the same. Only sometimes you can see a chick running like a hurricane across the entire field. He's lost here again. Or he's just playing. You can't understand him. But he's cheerful. He always runs to the river later.

The ant has already walked a long way. He also has a little house here where he can rest. He has tea there. Fresh. The rabbit poured it. He always does this in the morning. Maybe there's a beetle sitting on a chair there. A green beetle has a green chair. We can chat about all sorts of things. And then move on. The ant will be there soon!

Whitefish – so much space for a fish!

Whitefish live in a pond. The water is dark here. A little blue. The sky is reflected right in the water. It's very beautiful when you surface higher. The deeper water is darker. And the bottom is cooler. This is especially valuable on a hot day. It's usually just a nice summer here.  

The fish has a lot to do. It needs to swim here and there. The water is so pleasant. And good. Simply excellent water here. Swimming is perfect. The bottom is clean sand. No branches or anything else. It's very pleasant to scrape your belly on the sand.  

The water is like an ocean. So clean. And free. Swim in all directions. Water is everywhere. Dense. And nothing gets in the way. This fish is very happy. This is not a pond, but an entire ocean. Considering there are passages to other similar bodies of water. And so it turns out. And further on – it really is an entire ocean. Only this is a pond. The largest pond in all the worlds.

Other fish come to visit. Having lots of friends is always fun. You can all swim together. Discuss the news. Talk about all sorts of things. And swim to the bottom. And sit there and drink tea. Play video games. Listen to music. The fish has so many new things at the bottom. He can't even figure it all out.

Fish often watch all these things. Movies, music, computer games. There's a whole treasure trove here. A whole pond dedicated to this topic. And all the other ponds are so clear. And you can swim wherever you want. Water. Just water in all directions. And nothing gets in the way.

The water is simply perfect. Like the sea. But not so big. And there are many, many ponds like this. And then one huge pond. This is the world of the whitefish. The fish live here. And swim. Wag their tails. Wave their fins. Everything is fine with the fish.

And most importantly, it's not boring. Lots of friends always come to visit. There's a pond called "All Friends' Pond." There's a pond of silence. You can be alone there if you want. And the whitefish hasn't even figured out what all the other fish are for. The fish live in one pond. And they swim everywhere. It's great to have so much space!

The gopher has a whole summer ahead of him!

The grass is already growing. Almost summer. The gopher crawled out of his hole. He woke up. He shook himself. And looked around. That's the first thing you should do. When you've just woken up. And it's spring all around. And you slept until the warmest spring. Almost until summer. He slept well. He woke up happily. The sun was shining. And the grass was green. Beautiful! The gopher even stared.

A whole summer of fun lies ahead. And joy. Many more days like this lie ahead. He woke up. He looked around. And stared. It's like this almost every day. What a wonderful summer. Everything is green. And so delicious. The water in the river is flowing. So refreshing. It might still be a bit chilly for a swim.

There are no grasshoppers yet. The gopher often listens to them. They are excellent musicians. They will come here later. While it's summer here. Or they will grow up. And that's how it happens. While they are still small and just mastering music. The gopher will now slowly walk. And stretch his legs. He slept well. And had many good dreams. But the gopher has already forgotten some dreams. And he remembers others. He sometimes writes them down. Everything he dreamed. Whole stories emerge. Gopher dreams. He writes them down every year. Until autumn.

Then the gopher will run through the grass. All the way to the river. And drink some water. It's very refreshing. But he won't be running in the water for now. It's a bit chilly. His friends, the birds, are somewhere around here. He should find them. Ask them how they arrived. What they've been doing.

He should look for beetles. They're also somewhere around here. They've also been busy with their own affairs for a while. The gopher will also check on the frogs by the swamp. After all, he only just woke up. And everything seems so new and interesting to him. While everyone else has long since been busy with their own affairs. That's the kind of gopher he is.

But that's okay. The gopher will soon start doing his own thing too. He has a house here. Made of wood. He'll build a dam with the beaver. He'll build his own house. He has a lot to do. He'll tend to the garden every day. The garden is big. The bunny will come to plant carrots in the field. The gopher also helps the bunny. He needs to look after the carrots. They'll grow a lot. He needs to fix the cart. He needs to check how the apple trees are growing in the garden. It's far away. But the gopher also watches over them.

Mountain snail – among the mountain houses

Even in the mountains, our friends live. Kind little animals. For example, the mountain snail. In the mountains, there's room for forests. And meadows. Plenty of juicy, tasty grass. You can crawl there almost endlessly. It's quite unusual in the mountains. But on the other hand, there's the same forest and field. All of that is there too. And mountain snails live there.

Here in the mountains, flowers grow that don't exist in lower elevations. There's plenty of tasty grass here. The snail crawls everywhere. The snail has many friends. Other mountain snails. And the sun is closer here. More than in others. High up, the air is clean and fresh. It's pleasant to breathe. There are many climbs and descents. And entire forests are hidden between the mountains. And lots of meadows. It's a wonderful place!

The snail has houses here. In the forest. In the mountains and in the meadows. There's plenty of space here. You can put some leaves in reserve. The snail does just that. There's a little room in the house for leaves. You can drink tea with them. And eat. The snail knows a place where incredibly tasty leaves grow. She goes there once a month.

And even closer to the forest, delicious dark green grass grows. When you spend a lot of time in the meadow, you want to spend some time in the shade. In the wooden house, there's a little room for just such grass. Excellent tea. And a great treat for the whole day. Here in the wooden house, the snail has a place to watch TV. And play Dendy 8-bit.

Smelt – a fish in a green pond

Smelt lives in a pond. It's a cheerful pond. With greenish water. Sand. And algae. Usually, everything is green here. And the smelt knows this place well. There's a pond here. And it's big. Really big. And there are places where you can swim somewhere else. A whole corridor from which you can get to all sorts of places. A river. A lake.

And underground passages. Filled with water. There are even more places to visit. And including swimming to visit other fish. Smelt often swim to pike and carp. The water is full of algae. And the food always seems to float by itself. It's convenient. Other fish don't have this. They are very surprised when they come to visit. It's a unique place in its own way.

The water here is excellent. The pay is good. This is the fish's home. Its very own home. The fish, though small, loves to swim everywhere. And it swims a lot. Everything is overgrown with algae. Even the surface. And the bottom. It's quite cozy here. And if you want, you can swim through the underground passage—anywhere. For example, into the lake with blue water. The water there is slightly different. And the lake is huge. It probably even seems endless.

The smelt fish also swims around a lot. It's great to chat with the other fish and find out what's new. With one fish, you can play Dendy. With another, you can see the wonders of Super Nintendo. A forest snail – along forest paths

In the forest, in the shade of the trees. Where there's earth. And branches. That's where the forest snail lives and crawls. Crawls peacefully. Among the earth. And under tall trees. It's not always as light here as in a field. Or in a meadow.

The forest is cool. And quite cozy. You can rest peacefully here under a tree, right in the shade. Or even sleep. Earth. There's plenty of earth here. Fresh earth. So delicious. The smell of freshness comes straight from the earth. Sometimes grass grows on the sides.

There are ferns. You can climb them. Here and there, there's a gap, and it's not so dark. Sometimes the light falls from above, very beautifully. When the forest is not dense. The main thing is to follow the path. And there will be an exit from the forest. And there will be more sun. At first, there are gaps. And then the sun will shine fully. Quite a journey.

When you spend a lot of time in the dark. All day long. And it's so cool to crawl out into the light. Look at the sun. And talk to the kind little animals. Show them your drawings. And show them your new piece of the map. The elephant and the mole fold these drawings. And they fasten it all together into one very large map.

There's a snail seen a place. Pleasant moss grows everywhere. And there's even sunshine there. Green moss. And everything grows. Such soft moss. And there's also a place where fallen leaves lie. And there are mushrooms there. A beautiful place. Yes, the snail knows that the forest leads to another world. Where there's an autumn forest. A very beautiful autumn forest. It's incredible!

A grape snail is in a great place.

A grape snail crawls through the plants. Grass. Leaves. Earth. Dry branches. Anything will do. The snail moves. There's a delicious leaf growing up ahead. So said the beetle. The snail is almost there. Delicious green leaves. Delicious, juicy green. Perfect sunshine. But here in the grass, it's not as strong.

This is good for the grape snail. It can even be dark in the grass. You can sleep here. Or find a dark, cozy spot. And then go to where it's lighter. And move forward. Towards the juicy leaves. It's so delicious. And then there are sunny spots. The light falls beautifully from above. And passes through the grass. Right here. The sunniest spots are also here. Sunbeams live here.

It's a kind of greeting from the sun. Which lives up there. High up. And it smiles. It has many arms. It happens after the rain in the morning. More drops of water. Delicious cool water. A very pleasant bonus on the way to the leaves.

A carp in a murky pond

Today's 3D scene is about a carp. It's still a small fish. It's still learning. And it swims. In its pond. The pond is large and varied. The carp lives in murky water. There are some plants growing underneath, like sticks. The water here is yellow. And the carp itself is a similar color. No one sees it here. And there's no one else here except it.

This is its home. This is the entire pond. And the neighboring one. The water there is clear. Lake and river. Everything for the carp. So it can swim and grow. And it's already used to being here. Here you can bury yourself in the sand. Scratch your back and fin on the sand or dry branches. Those are probably algae. The carp keeps trying to guess what kind of packs these are.

The carp swims calmly and leisurely. The water here is murky. There's a lot of sand in it, and this is still water. And there's a lake there. And lots of clear light. And then there's the river. You can build houses in the sand. And there are plenty of them here. The carp have already built everything here.

The carp is a kind and good fish. It swims. And it likes to swim. It knows many friends of other fish. Other carp, for example. They can build sand castles together. Squirrel – Branches and Wind

A squirrel is sitting in a tree. What a wonderful tree. It's so interesting to sit up there. There are so many fluffy branches. They're thick, and you can sleep or sit right there. You're sitting so high up. And there are so many tiers. Sometimes you don't know how high you are. Just look to the side. Sometimes you see how high you are. And sometimes you just jump to the ground and run on.  

The squirrel loves fir trees. And jumping from branch to branch. There are so many levels in the forest. Everything for the squirrel. The squirrel sometimes sees nuts and pine cones here. It's all delicious. Birds come flying in. They're all great friends, too. You can talk to them about everything. They fly everywhere and know so much. Birds have a broad outlook. And the squirrel is a musician.

The branches are green. And there are lots of squirrel houses here. And the birds have houses too. So there's a whole city up there. Plenty of places to run and jump. And then you can come down to the ground. And run through the field and forest. And then climb the tree again. And look around. From the very top. And take in everything around. And get your bearings. Forests can be large and dense. Meadows can be large. But you climb a tree and see where you need to run.

In the field there's a good friend – a bunny. And a gray rabbit. But they live in the meadow. Where the meadow is. And here there's both the forest and the meadow. It's a slightly different place. These are the homes of the birds and the squirrel. So many worlds. Good and kind little animals live in them all. They're all doing something interesting.

The squirrel loves to jump and is good at it. You can jump along the tops of the fir trees too. And quickly get over all the obstacles that were on the surface. It's very convenient. Sometimes the squirrel surprises its friends. How quickly it appears. And all because it runs along the tops of the trees. For example. The mole is always surprised by how quickly the squirrel appears. The mole lives mostly underground.

A Gray Rabbit in a Summer Land

A gray rabbit came to a clearing. He hadn't been here for a long time. He's here for the whole summer now. It's a wonderful meadow. Green. And the sun is shining brightly. Plenty of grass. You can wander wherever you want. The gray rabbit is here now. Beautiful grass. There's so much of it that it's impossible to count it. And there's no need to count it. There's so much of it here. The rabbit is sitting in the grass. He's settled comfortably. And now he's resting.

There's a wonderful sky here. Have a wonderful summer day. The gray rabbit will be here for the whole summer now. He's come to this land. An endless field. A huge meadow. And hills beyond that. An artifact awakens zombies

Today's 3D scene is based on zombies. I'm mastering the game engine. And trying to learn how to make zombies. Here are my first attempts. The zombies turned out. The meat texture is used here. It's like a tip from the internet. Something like the game Doom. But in its own way.

Plains of Limits

Swamp World

Today's pixel art is based on the Super Nintendo video game Tales of Phantasia. A stunningly beautiful adventure. Into a fantasy world. Where, like forgotten kingdoms, ancient secrets are kept.

And this is my drawing based on Tales of Phantasia (SNES). Today I drew something I think is in the spirit of an action RPG. Or like the MSX2 game Knightmare. Or like these plains with monsters and treasures. Or how the screen moves forward like an arcade game. And you see monsters and treasures. And as you move from screen to screen, you see what the developers have in store for you next.

In the Swamp World. Monsters have appeared. They are skeletons. And swamp dwellers. Zombies. They have settled there. And you leave your village area. There, further on, is a swamp. And zombies. In the Sorcerer's Valley

Today's 3D scene is based on the 3D landscapes from Might and Magic 6. I remember spending so much time in that RPG. I absolutely loved those low-poly landscapes and sprite trees. I spent hours in dungeons there. Today I learned a bit about Blender. And I'm even pleased with myself. It turned out pretty well.

And this is my 3D scene based on Might and Magic VI (PC Windows 95). In the Sorcerer's Valley. There's a light gray fog all the time. It's quite humid. And lots of trees. And flowers. It's like a fairytale island. Flowers, grass, logs. Trees and fir trees. Some trees are leafless. A sign that all is not well. Monsters live here. Undead. Summoned here by the sorcerer.

You set foot on this island for the first time. And you have no other information. The ferryman sails away. He wishes you luck. And you have the whole island to explore. You can walk around it with a point-and-click perspective. Like in the Might and Magic games. And explore everything around. It's a forest. Swampy. And a little damp here. There are flowers.

There's a mountain in the distance. Apparently that's the center of the island. And you can't go there. You need to explore the plains. And find the sorcerer's secret. To defeat him. It's worth starting with simple monsters. Enchanted pirates, skeletons, and zombies. Bats and large frogs. That way, you'll level up, gain experience. And you'll understand how everything is laid out. And where to go next.

Different hats – friends in an old mansion casting a spell

Today's pixel art is based on the Super Nintendo video game Tales of Phantasia. Oh, really, really great! A super gaming system. I heard that to create such cool graphics, they put extra chips inside the cartridge. An adventure in a fantasy world. Probably even cooler than Final Fantasy!

And this is my drawing based on Tales of Phantasia (SNES). Two friends actively practicing magic. They came to an old mansion to perform a magical ritual. There's an old floor. And dark wood all around. The house stands in a field. And outside it's late autumn. It's getting dark early. So they lit candles. They called all their friends. But it looks like no one has come yet.

The wind wanders through the rooms. And the doors open by themselves. Just from the wind. This is an abandoned old house. Some wizard in a hat. Who disappeared long ago. And no one cared where he went. It all just happened. The house of a true wizard. Who had lived here for centuries. No one else dared to settle here. Some think the wizard will return any minute.

Maybe it will rain. It's late autumn. The sky is gloomy. The grass has already dried. And so two friends are waiting for all the guests. But so far, no one is there. They check their magic books. To make sure everything is correct. Candles are lit. Because without them, it will be dark here. There is no electricity in the house.

Two friends. They are dressed beautifully. Different hats. Coats. Cloaks. Scarves. And big eyes. Thirsty for knowledge. And magic. At magic school, they were advised to search for ancient books in the ruins. And read complex spells from them. So the two friends have just gotten hold of some runic notes with magic. But they can't understand what's there. But first, a simple spell they understand.

A magical school of magic on a magical glowing field

Today's pixel art is based on the video game Final Fantasy VI for the Super Nintendo. Excellent graphics. And quite a long adventure. In it, you'll see a strange and beautiful world. Many strange and mysterious things await you in this magnificent 16-bit cartridge.

And this is my drawing based on Final Fantasy 6 (SNES). In this magical garden. The crosses glow. These magical fountains. It's a truly magical place. And no one knows why it happens. It's such beautiful magic. It does nothing but glow.

There's a lot of grass growing in the garden. In the summer, it's a beautiful place. And this abandoned old house. Now it houses a school for wizards. One day, a man in a big purple hat came here and decided to open a school of magic here. He never introduced himself. And no one asked him.

He also doesn't know why all this glows. He calls them magic lanterns. They glow day and night. Happy children come to his school. And grown-up men. And little animals too. The mole and the bunny invite you to visit the school of magic too. Here they will teach you elemental spells. Ice, water, fire, flame, earth, air, wind. Different magical notations have different names for these elements. And they have different spells. Then you can set off on a journey!

Ash and sand – necromancers and sorcerer towers

A 3D scene for today. About trees. And I'm impressed by my adventures in the world of Might and Magic 6. There's a ghost village. Fog. Ghosts. And such coal-like trees. I finally learned how to do that! How wonderful to be able to create something interesting!

Ahead are the ash lands. Sand. Ash. Like the moon. These are forgotten lands. Ghosts dwell here. And here are numerous necromancer towers. Some of them are even abandoned. And some are still inhabited. And sorcerers and necromancers sit there. There's a ghost village here. Tons of zombies. They wander the wastelands. Slowly. In such dark weather, they can easily be mistaken for a bush or a tree. This is always the weather here.

You approach. With your team of adventurers. Gray lines. Gray landscape. And sparse trees greet you on these plains. Everyone is ready for the ghosts to appear. They're invisible for now. But when you get closer, you'll see them. That's their standard approach. Necromancer towers contain a lot of enchanted things, including powerful magical items.

It's like a Might and Magic 6 landscape. Low poly. I can't even believe I managed to depict something like that.

I've long dreamed of combining two things. Writing texts. And programming. A story. And software. A program that displays your story. In a specific format. A picture. Like a cover. Or an illustration. One thing. And the text. And all this in a special program that understands its own format. That's what a digital reader is. It's a program.

It's a little program. In which my stories are stored. I wrote a great story and put it in the program. The program's interface is reminiscent of MS-DOS shells. Several indicators at the bottom.

The interface is simple. Contents at the top. Indicators at the bottom. Like DOS Navigator, Volkov Commander, and Norton Commander. At the bottom, there are indicators for the control buttons. There are only a few of them. A page-up button. A page-down button. If this is the last page, pressing the down button takes you to the first page. And vice versa. From the first page, you click the up button to get to the last page. And so you wander through the pages. Like a ship on the waves. These are the reader's comparisons.

There's also the option to hide or show this indicator. Of course, there's an exit button. It's all numbers. 1, 2, 3, and exit is 0. And up and down arrows. There's information: how many pages there are and which page is currently active. That's the bare minimum of information for the reader. The information button. It contains general information. About the program itself. The program version, for example. And general statistics for this story.

A story is text. That's clear. And it's also an image. And a settings file. That is, it's a kind of file structure. And the button displays all this information. Yes, there's also a color scheme. The text, the background color, the color and text of the buttons. Four colors. Colors are on a scale from 0 to 255, and so there are three color components: red, green, and blue.

So, the program is a reader. It's tailored to a specific story. A folder. Where the text is. An image. And color settings. Text color, background color. Background color for the indicator. Text color for the indicator. This way, you can vary the appearance of the text. And make it match the style of the story. So each story will have its own visual style.

And the first page of the story. It's always an image and a title. Then the second page is the first page of the story itself. This is primarily designed for short stories. Several pages.

That's the whole idea. Stylizing the story through colors. An illustration for the story and the text itself. And all this is launched from the Digital Reader program. The Info button displays all this information. Including the story title. All loaded colors. Whether the image has loaded. Something else. And the version of the Digital Reader program itself.

Initially. The idea is that each time you copy the Digital Reader, the program itself. Then you upload your story in the program's format. That is, the text itself in text form (like a TXT file). An image for the story in JPG format, and a file with the settings. The txt file contains the colors for the program's style.

Sort of. It's a folder. It contains the Digital Reader program. The program. And the story text files. With settings. And a JPG image. The image is 800x600. The program itself is 1024x768. Like everything I do, it's retro. It's written on QB 64 Phoenix Edition.

BASIC Moss – 5 BASIC versions, launched, visited the website

New development. With an idea. Like moss. Moss grows so green and fluffy. And moss is an environment. This will be a program about BASIC. Extremely small. The program has two main functions. And maybe, suddenly, it will even be useful. In theory. If the idea is developed further.

The first function. This is the web side. About the internet and BASIC. Here you can see links to popular BASIC dialects. And visit their website to personally check their website. Check for updates. Download it.

The second side is the local side. The software side. Programs. Here you can run them all. These BASIC dialects. Now on your machine. So that it's convenient to launch them all in one program.

So, there are two sides. Two buttons for switching between modes. The web side. To visit the developers' website. And the software side. To run a locally installed programming language.

This whole thing is dedicated to the BASIC programming language. Here I've collected several of its popular dialects. This is QB64. Its variant is QB64 Phoenix Project. This is Free Basic, Free Basic. BBC Basic for SDL 2.0. And PC Basic.

In soft mode, it launches the locally installed version of the programming language. The development environment starts. In soft mode, you're redirected to the programming language's website.

There's a language selection. That is, the language of the program itself. There are two choices: Russian and English. That's all for now. Everything is still in development. I'm using VB Net. I've always been a fan of not only Basic and Turbo Pascal, but also Delphi 7 and Visual Basic 6.0. That's why it's written in VB.Net.

This is the start of the Moss project. Moss is so green and beautiful. I remember how beautifully it grows under a tree. And so soft. A very magical thing, this moss. Moss loves moisture. And such a dense mat of grass. I decided to call the project Moss. Later, I might do something about other programming languages. Probably. For now, only Basic.

The Moss project is about Basic. It's a training program in Visual Basic (VB.Net). It's great to have everything at your fingertips. A small program, and everything at your fingertips. Planetax

Today's sprite drawing is based on Abadox for the Dendy console. An 8-bit sci-fi shooter. It's about some kind of interesting spacesuit. Or a robot. What could you have imagined back then? It's hard to tell about the games. Even from the covers. So you sit and imagine. What's it about? It's great to develop your imagination. And peer at the covers. And think about what the game is about!

And this is my drawing based on Abadox (NES). By the way, it also looks like some kind of improved Game Boy. I saw that there too. White space. And a few sprites on the screen. Trees grow on the planet. And you walk around in your super protective suit. It looks like a deep-diving robot.

There are many biological mutating creatures on the planet. There's a dangerous gas here. And many mutating creatures. They attack very quickly and try to devour everything. Anything that doesn't look like them is their source of mutation. Apart from that, the planet is pretty empty. Trees. Surface. Soil of some sort.

The plants are blue because the liquid here is so strange. Like water, but viscous. And blue. You need to get to the stream and take a water sample. No one has figured out what it is yet. Be careful.

Water Horizons

Today's sprite drawing is based on the Dendy video game B Wing. It's a cool, 8-bit game. A space shooter. An entire genre flourished in those 8-bit days. And we played them on cartridges! It was so much fun!

And this is my drawing based on B Wings (Dendy). The ocean. A vast, endless ocean turns purple as dusk approaches. You fly around inflatable and plastic blocks. The entire ocean is filled with them. These structures are significant. They have many different functions. Radio communication, energy storage. Office bays. Everything is here. A universal structure.

The entire planet is covered in water. A deep ocean. 10 km. And floating above are these blocks. Lots of them. And they're scattered haphazardly. It's hard to tell what's where while flying so quickly.

Some simple sprites. On a blue background. The colors turned out similar to the Commodore 64. Even. And it's all 8-bit. Something simple, based on 8-bit sprites.

Three trees. It's a dream.

A 3D scene for today on the topic of low-poly trees. This is the place where you are now. There are low-poly trees. And a flat surface. It's a low-poly world. Gray sky. It's like you've entered the world of a game from the first PlayStation. It's strange.

Visual I version 0.4 "Fourth" – columns and space

It's time for the next step. Already number four. A small step. But mostly for stability. Because a decent amount of time has passed. And it's time to release something. It's time to get going. As they say. And here's the new release. Three intros. One controllable intro. And two regular intros, where you just watch the animation. And you can't do anything about it.

This time, there are two themes. It's space. It's a tradition. Because I started the idea for the visual intros with a space theme. And one is a vaporwave theme. Retro wave, synthwave. A kind of digital future, an 80s theme.

The first intro for this version is space photos. Just a intro. You look at a cycle of space photos. It's seven space photos set to music. This is the first intro for this version. And there are photos of Andromeda. And there's a comet. There's a pulsar. There's a nebula. These are rather mysterious, albeit dark, images of space. There's room for bright objects in the darkness.

Space is something vast and mysterious. It's no wonder it contains such beautiful images. This is simply a screensaver. You have to watch it. Like a movie. Without words. But with interesting music.

The next screensaver is Andromeda Photo. Essentially, the idea is taken from the previous screensaver. One of the photographs. Only a close-up. 8 photographs. They all seem to be part of one larger photograph. 4 horizontally and 2 vertically. A total of 8. Amazing detail!

Music by White Bat Audio. He has his own website and makes a lot of music, including some free for use. The track "VHS Dreams" is featured here. Andromeda is the closest galaxy to us. But still far away. And there are dark areas hidden in the darkness. And bright ones. Where thousands of strange and distant stars glow.

This screensaver is controllable. There's a map. You use it to navigate. It's reminiscent of a 90s TV remote control. You use the arrow keys to move around the map. There's a mode for displaying information on the screen, like a menu on an old TV. You can also increase or decrease the frame duration. There are also several display modes. One has vertical image movement, another horizontal. Random selection. And all the images are static, and only the user can change the image.

VaporWave Road. The final screensaver. It's dedicated to vaporwave. It's columns and virtual reality in a retro style. 80s-inspired. The music is Crystal Cola by WhiteBat Audio. He has great tracks! I'm convinced of this time and time again.

This screensaver took a lot of time. Because of my math and logic test, I decided to do everything using formulas. I spent a lot of time. And ultimately abandoned that idea. I just coded everything. It immediately became faster. I can now do this in a reasonable amount of time.

I spent a lot of time on the formula and the math. And I didn't bother making another new screensaver. I decided to finish it all without math. That's what I know how to do. It turned out well right away and in a reasonable timeframe. And that's why there are three screensavers instead of four for this version.  

And here there's a background—essentially a desktop screensaver. Vaporwave or synthwave. More like synthwave. Retro future. And columns. And music. And it all moves. There are two types of movement: columns from the side and columns as if into the distance.

I realized in time that it was better to do without math. And just finished it. A total of three screensavers. On the fourth step. That's when I realized it. Learning is one thing. Practice is another. And small projects are better done as you already know. This is only version 0.4. And it's good that I realized that! The theme here is columns and space.

VaporWave Road – the long road is finally programmed!

Finally, this long road is programmed! It was a bit of a challenge. I applied the formulas here. And, to put it briefly, I messed up. I decided not to do that. But to use my existing skills. I'm not good with math, and I've learned that again.

The intro is a standard one. You just have to watch it. And random animations appear. There are two types. It's all about columns and a synthwave background. Columns – hence the vaporwave. And the music is by a cool guy, WhiteBat Audio. The track is called Crystal Cola. He has his own website. And it's easy to find online. Thanks to him for the music! It's a real lifesaver!

So, the idea here is a road in virtual reality with columns. Like Sonic, maybe there's a level with columns. Or maybe there's a game like FarCry 3 Bloody Dragon. But I'm certainly overdoing it. It's all simple here. But there are many pre-programmed situations. A column from the side and, as it were, in 3D. Two types.

The side view is all sorts of stairs. Up and down stairs, for example. There are many such screensavers. They seem to move to the right side of the screen. And there are also many screensavers that seem to be 3D. When you move into these very columns. As if from the perspective of the eyes.

The columns are mostly pre-coded. And this is a good way for me to create such landscapes. And they simply move downwards. As if creating the effect of 3D movement. Many different columns. That's how I wanted it to look. You're flying at altitude through a strange virtual world. And you're looking at it all. Like a bird. Or some kind of virtual observer. Like an observer of a round in Counter-Strike.

There are many columns. And these are all sorts of bizarre landscapes within virtual reality. The columns often have some kind of structure. That is, they're arranged in lines. At different distances. And these are the landscapes here. These are plains. Virtual plains. A virtual surface. A fantastic flight. Like in retro VR movies from the 80s on VHS.

There were a lot of screensavers, sort of two types. They are shown alternately. First one type, then the other. About more than 10 views of each type. In total, there are more than 20 pre-made screensavers within this screensaver.

The columns move, and this is the main element of the landscape here. And the background is AI-generated. From the FreePik website. There's a lot there. You can also take a look. Mostly, the 3D screensavers are columns with a landscape. That is, there are many of them, and they seem to be in the distance. They are scattered across the digital plain. And they form the landscape. Large and small. Many and few. In different ways.

Most of them are pre-programmed. That is, it's hardcoded. But there are large columns, where they move to the right and left. And this is already done according to the formula. That's how I started this intro. And then I simply moved from formulas to hardcode. I can do everything much faster this way.

Such white columns. Left and right. And you between them. And they're approaching. Such a visual effect. Like a dream about virtual reality. Maybe there, beyond the horizon, you'll see how the matrix transforms reality into numbers. And before that, into a pseudo-world. A world of sketches or lines and columns. A great theme too.

For a computer enthusiast. Some films come to mind, like The 13th Floor and Nirvana. Not as popular as The Matrix, but also very good. From the era of VHS tapes and DVDs. That's also in my head. Such columns. And space.

Chel 2 (dude)

Today's sprite drawing is based on the Contra Force video game for the Dendy 8-bit console. A cool cartridge for all fans of action games, thrillers in 8-bit format. And VHS tapes too. Probably something like Action Movie or Rainbow Six, Police or something like that.

 And this is my drawing based on Contra Force (Dendy). A seaport. A beautiful blue sky. A bright day. The day is just beginning. Dude is already here. He knows that the mutant hellish ship is arriving again. A huge cargo tanker. With mutants on board. Enormous monsters. Tall and large.

The black tanker is already approaching. They came from another dimension. And they travel in tankers on water. And then they disembark. Near large energy sources. This time, a hydroelectric power station is nearby. Lots of water. A dam. A water storage facility.

Along with the black tanker, a huge gray fog is trailing. This is a new approach. Weather camouflage. The mutants prepared more thoroughly for their second visit. Again, the first level: huge docks. Cargo containers. Warehouses. And some kind of factory. A sorting plant.

Further on, a road along the shore to a hydroelectric power station. A dam. Plenty of water. And the hydroelectric power station itself. A labyrinth-like factory. Steel staircases. Lots of metal passages. Water chambers. Water containers. Computers.
