Hey - just saw this was updated and gave it a try. Sorry I didn't see it during the jam, nice game. I made a planet :D You have a good start to this, I hope you keep going with it. UI, balancing, music, sfx etc.

Btw - there is some slight clicking on the planet sfx, its either in the sound files themselves (open in Audacity and add a fade to the tail) or it could be a problem with playing too many sounds at once, in which case you might want to program a sound manager. Anyway, good luck with this!

Yeah, Godot is pretty fantastic these days. I really should break down and use GD script so I can do web for these jams, but I've gotten so used to C# (and C++ on Unreal + Raylib) it's tough to make the switch.  Maybe that will be my goal next time...

Nice! Glad you did an html version. You probably know this, but your cheat code is on, and the categories don't come on when you win a line, the line just disappears. I will have hours of fun with this 😁

Nice simple game. Agree with Beebster, vertical would be nice. Good job.

Interseting game. Feed back would have been helpful, camera shake, enemy and player damage, audio etc. Nice job.

Great arcade shooter! Upgrade system is awesome. The dots all need some love, it is too hard to tell all of them apart. Great work overall!

Nice, I can't wait! The humor and level design are top notch :D

Great level design and especally story! Has the Cave Story/Kero Blaster  Pixel vibes. The bitey fish were a bit annoying at times. I felt like it was tough at times to position the eel in the correct spot. I think the head is a bit offset, so it doesn't line up exactly to the grid. There should be a bit more snappiness and visual cue in the grid to help you find exactly where you should turn. But past those minor qualms this is a fantastic puzzle game, I didn't win it yet (yet!), but I will return! Great job.

Thanks for playing!

I didn't have enough time to fix the level end and Game over screens , there should have been a pause to finish FX then pop up the screens. And Game over should have been You Win... dumb mistake on my part :D

The images all have cards associated with them - they make a whole lot more sense  in that context. I had to drop that part due to time. The idea was to add in bonuses and cheats as the amount of matches becomes unmanageable. The green slime (Bad Breath) reveals a few icons within it's range :D

I think the dots do appear in the same order,  just in different spots. Not intentional, but I knew it was happening. Will be a fix later, I think I'll push this project to what I had invisioned.

Thanks again for the detailed review, very helpful!

As much as I love shaders, this one was totally unneeded. Your design is fine, you don't need the headache inducing  part. It would make a lot of sense if there was a tired or stunned or health almost a zero mechanic, but for a whole game it's too much. The rest, the story, the level design, the story, music and sfx were all great.

Nice job, looks like a lot went into getting this out.

Nedds some love, would like to see where this goes in the future.

Great storytelling. The lights were a bit hard to read. The artwork was decent, but too bad it was AI. Overall great job on this!

Fantastic work! Love the humor, the vo was superb. Shooting $ at employees is hilarious. Great job.

I only made it to Floppy disk before the greedy employee camping the elevator got me :D

As an artist, not a programmer (though I am getting better at the programming side of things) I applaud your art style. Very painterly, it all works well together with the feel of the whole piece. Great job.

I've already logged the 1.0 version on speedrun.com, so if you update I will be locked in forever with the world record!!! bwhahahaha (kidding of course, I am not now nor ever will be a speed runner - those days are long past)

Beautiful job! Very ambitious for your first jam.

I agree with InkyRisk, needs a ramp up in difficulty, 1st platform is way too hard for a first level. Having said that, awesome submission! Music, art SFX and FX and controls all great. Nice job!

Tell the AI that the O plays twice on its turn. Looks nice.

Edit: Jokes on me - for some reason my post submitted 3 times! Sorry about that :D

Heh, this was awesome.

Nice art! Felt like the jump could have used more weight, and the camera could use some smoothing (too locked on to the player). Nice work.

Like Gruftsocke below, I played for a long time trying to find Tim. And others have mentioned the transparency issues with plants/webs etc. The walkie talkie loop gets really annoying, I would just do some seconds of soft static, then interspersed every once in a while with static Tim voice. Also, your sound attenuation goes into the second floor, I would lower the collider so you don't hear it upstairs.

Having said all that, very ambitious! You got a whole story with cut scenes in on a very short schedule, congratulations! Would love to see it if you clean it up a bit!

Sounds like a fun concept, love to see you finish this. Good luck!

5th try's the charm! Fantastic job, those cops are maniacs. Art style reminded me of the video Shynola did years ago for Lyrics Born (Quannum Projects) - I changed my mind ( worth a watch on YouTube if you don't know it). Anyway, tons of fun here, congrats!

lol - you are DEFINITELY the cool guy now!  :D Thanks a ton for trying again. I didn't have enough time to add in a proper level end and Win end. There should be a pause and SFX/FX before those dialogs come up. Code is there, just didn't have time to implement it. Stupid me I should have written YOU WIN instead of GAME OVER at least.

I know, I dred getting to 8! I was going to post a video, but I had such a poor showing I deleted it :D

Hey, fantastic job. Love the design, audio, gameplay, everything. You put in a lot of work in a short time, great job. Some hitches (I think you did it intentionally, but I'd get rid of them), and balancing, but easily enough corrected.

As an aside, I was not able to play it via the itch app, but was able to play via Safari. Glad I checked, great game.

Really nicely done! Great graphics, music sfx and fx. The fact that you even put in high socres etc is a great addition. Nice work for 10 days!

Would have loved to see some sort of difficulty progression and maybe some original art + audio, but you got your first game and jam built and submitted so great job!

Perfect on theme, for someone that doesn't play these types of games a bit confusing, but fine once in the swing of things. Great job submitting!

Thanks a lot for trying it out! And thanks for the windows feedback, glad it's working. I suck at my own game, I think my highest was 240 :D Oh, that reminds me, I need to change the screenshot - that's an embarrassing as heck 160...

I love Coinium for the coins :D

On the other hand, one of the worst made up words of all time was Unobtainium... tied with Metacholorians I guess.

I'm sorry to hear that! Only thing I can suggest is to unblock it, as I have no way to test atm. Right click the .exe, go to properties and uncheck the scary looking message. (trust me, it's even worse on mac :D). No idea why it would just be my app, this is a straight up Godot export. I'll make sure to have my PC back up and running by next jam, this has been frustrating. No joke, my cat threw up on it and fried it. $12k doorstop right now.

Thank you very much for at least trying, I hope you get it to work!

Thank you very much for playing! I had fun making it. Glad you didn't have issues.

Interesting concept, I couldn't figure out if there was a way to know there was a bomb nearby? I got blown up a lot. Lots of my bones left down there for the other Archeologists to dig up :D

Nice. I suck at dating, been married 30 years :D Fun dialog and mechanics.

Great puzzle design and graphics!

You 2 did a great job on this, it's really quirky and fun. 3D models look great Sam 2!

Heh, last level took me a while :D Soooo cute! Great job on this.

Love all the different connections, I like that there were no real directions, just figure it all out. Nice wire anim, and good level design, though I'd maybe make the spots the character can't go in a little clearer rather than an invisible wall. Great job.

Committed sepaku after 60 girlfriends... my man was tired!
