Nooo it's not about liking it dude, some people have PTSD, and I don't think some people understand what being 'triggered' actually means. I wasn't triggered, but some people have experience abuse obviously not to the death extent, but pretty bad. These triggeres can actually cause physical disabilities. I know because I have PNES seizures caused by PTSD 'triggers.' So, If I get 'triggered' I have seizures, and I have had panic attacks so severe they caused me fainting, or flare up my chronic pain diseases. Been seeing drs about it since 16.
A lot of people use 'triggered' lightly as if it's just some common little 'it scared me, it upsets me,' but because of that, it dismisses people who have real issues that get triggered by games or words or things that come as a shock. If I'm prepared for the trigger is going to be in it (Like the kidnapping trigger) I am aware of it, my brain has time to process. The human brain is wild. You don't have a chance to respond mentally, in the snap of your fingers, your body physically remembers the trauma and it's too late!
Thatttsss why trigger warnings are crucial. ^^
