Air conditioning certainly helped with the journey, train was delayed but not too long. The train was clean enough however train guard/ security would be beneficial.

App is fairly easy to navigate, though I wish there was a very simple way to compare a return with two single tickets, which I'm told can be cheaper.

Our train to Glasgow was delayed so we…

Our train to Glasgow was delayed so we missed our train from Glasgow to Fort William. First we tried to get a refound from TP express - but then I wrote to customer service at Trainline and the day after I got the money back. I will use Trainline in my future travel. What a good service

Advance booking

ve been using Trainline for a while, and the pricing has become incredibly frustrating. Even when I try to book off‑peak, the prices jump up and down for no obvious reason. I’ll look at an early train and a late return hoping to get a good deal, but the more I check specific times, the worse the prices seem to get. It feels like the algorithm reacts to my searches and pushes the fares higher instead of helping me find the best option.

Overall, it’s become really difficult to trust the pricing, and it takes away the whole point of trying to plan ahead for cheaper travel.

Trainline used to be good

Trainline used to be good. Now they use dark UX patterns to sell you the most expensive tickets, making it hard to see the cheaper tickets. I wanted a return ticket but it presents me with a single ticket option rather than open return.

What excuse next

Trains are cancelled and delayed for various reason every week and it’s ridiculous we’ve had a train system for 200 years. People rely on this as consistent transport and it’s shit

All the trains back to penkridge were…

All the trains back to penkridge were cancelled, no members of staff gave us a helpful response and we had to get on a train to a different location which was packed to the brim with no working air conditioning to then have to travel back via taxi to the original station to collect car

Really poor

Me and my partner used the app to purchase a 2 tickets for blackrod to Manchester. Train there was fine, a few mins delayed but nothing crazy.

On the way back however we attempted to get the 16.02 train back. This train got stopped at Oxford road and we waited for over an hour as we were informed there was an incident at Salford. We were then told the train was cancelled and subsequent trains were also cancelled so no chance to even hop on the next train or train after that. We were forced to get a taxi home costing 3x the price of the ticket.

What really gets me is that when we tried to request a refund we were told our tickets were not eligible for a refund. I understand non refundable tickets but when we wernt provided or able to get the service we paid for that’s just a company robbing money.

Last time I’ll use Trainline unless they can contact me and put this right.
