HyGuru USMLE Prep Reviews 

I passed USMLE Step 1, and I wanted to share my experience with HyGuru.

I used many different study resources during my preparation, but HyGuru stood out because of the way difficult concepts were explained. Instead of just asking students to memorize facts, Rahul focuses on helping you understand the underlying logic, which made it much easier for me to retain information.

The explanations are clear, organized, and focused on what is actually high yield for Step 1.

I won't say that any single resource is enough to pass Step 1, but HyGuru was definitely one of the resources that made a real difference in my preparation. I'm grateful for the effort Rahul puts into creating educational content, and I would recommend his videos to anyone preparing for the USMLE.

Dr. Damania's lecture was very concise and had high yield topics that we've either seen on the shelf's or the NBME's. Great review to brush up knowledge that is good to have at the back of your hand on test day.

Dr. Damania was a pivotal and critical part of my medical school journey. I started tutoring with him during Step 1 prep, and jumped over 10 percentage points in my first two weeks working with him. What I learned from our session got me through clinical rotations with honoring over half of my shelves, then I worked with him again for step 2 and got a 261 (from a 240 practice exam). The thing that sets him apart from all other study methods, is that he teaches you how to think like a test maker and the strategy behind how to get every type right. And, he does this through teaching material that I had seen in Anki one million times but never really learned how to apply it. His course and tutoring helped me score high on exams, yes, but he made me a better student overall and likely, a better doctor because I see medicine in a while new way. Everyone needs this course!

I completed a 2-day review. Handouts are helpful and the additional information that went along with topics was also valuable. Additionally, the course was affordable and worth it.

Dr. Damania’s 2-day High Yield Step 2 CK course exceeded my expectations. He has an incredible ability to simplify complex topics while keeping the focus on what is most likely to appear on the exam. Every hour was packed with high-yield pearls, clinical reasoning, and practical test-taking strategies that I know will help me on Step 2.

What I appreciated most was that he didn’t just teach facts, he taught how to think through clinical scenarios and approach NBME-style questions with confidence. His explanations were clear, engaging, and easy to remember, making even difficult concepts click.

If you’re looking for an efficient, comprehensive, and truly high-yield Step 2 review, I can’t recommend Dr. Damania’s course enough. It was one of the best investments I’ve made in my Step 2 preparation, and I left feeling significantly more confident going into my exam. Thank you, Dr. Damania!

I had the privilege of working with Rahul Damania while preparing for Step 2, and I genuinely cannot recommend him enough. The great parts of the course was the lectures broke down concepts to the simplest form possible. In addition, when Dr. D teaches everything you need to know about one topic or systematic integration where he discusses a condition from different system and what nbme likes to ask is very helpful.

I have worked with Rahul for both STEP1 and STEP2. As someone whose native language is not English, I found myself slower than my peers in learning and retaining concepts. Rahul has been amazing. He is all about strategies and optimization. He not only has a very systematic way of learning for USMLE but also focuses on mindset and habits. He also incorporates AI well in day-to-day study. Rahul is also super caring and consistently supports his students in all means. I am grateful for him and highly recommend working with him!

I took both the HyGuru Pass/Fail Course and the Step 2 CK Rapid Review, and they honestly changed the way I approached studying in medical school. What stood out to me was not just the content itself, but the way HyGuru teaches you how to think through questions. He breaks down what the question is actually asking and gives practical strategies for approaching answers, especially when you are stuck between choices. Before, I felt like I was relying a lot on guessing. After his courses, I felt like I finally understood the reasoning behind the right answer.

HyGuru Pass/Fail Course:
I took this course during 3rd year while preparing for Step 1 after clerkships, which is not the most traditional route, and it was incredibly helpful. The pathology, biochemistry, and immunology videos were especially useful for me. Those subjects can feel overwhelming, but he explains them in a way that makes difficult concepts easier to understand and remember. The course gave me structure and helped me focus on what actually mattered.

USMLE Step 2 CK Rapid Review:
This course helped me more than I expected going into 3rd year. I had no idea how to organize clerkships or what I should be prioritizing. HyGuru laid out a clear plan that made things feel much more manageable. More importantly, he shifted the way I approached questions from memorizing facts to actually thinking through them systematically. That change played a huge role in helping me honor all of my clerkships. Looking back, I wish I had started using his material earlier.

I started watching HyGuru high yield step 1 playlist and over the course of 2 weeks went from a 62 (form 30) to a 69 (form 32) to a 79 (cbse). The way that he walks through questions and ties together concepts that sound similar was incredible. He helped to shape my thought process for approaching questions. He even discussed how vitals should be used to guide you though the question stem. Overall, I cannot recommend his videos enough (especially his STEP 1 HIGH YEILD PLAYLIST). Even if you use them as a review before bed instead of watching Netflix I know your score will increase!

I had such a great experience working with Rahul for my Step 1 preparation! I think what sets HyGuru apart is Rahul himself. He is very meticulous, caring, and supportive throughout the process and creates detailed resources that work for this generation of medical students. Dr. Damania's help in my Step 2 prep was a lifesaver! By adopting the Hyguru method, I was able to break an incredibly frustrating plateau that I was stuck at for months AND increase my score by nearly 20 points all in just the final few weeks of my prep. His ability to help me shift my overall approach, thought process, and mindset when it came to answering Step 2 questions was extremely remarkable.
