Giovanna's stitches

Hi everyone, as usual far too much time has passed since my latest update – time seems to go faster as I age 😦 Also, there hasn’t been much stitching going on here, because of a really mean summer hitting us a few weeks earlier than it should have done: not funny! As a result, I’ve been rather restless, and that leads to impulse starts and little progress on anything. So this is just a quick update on my current projects, bearing in mind that there are still many others waiting on the back burner. First of all, I recently acquired a re-issue of a classic, The Needle’s Prayse’s English Whitework Sampler, which is so beautiful that it just begged to be started. I’m finding that I really need daylight to stich on it at ease, so progress is slow – but the first band didn’t take long. The second band… not so much, with all those eyelets, but hey, nobody’s chasing me.

Ciao a tutti, come al solito è passato veramente troppo tempo dal mio ultimo post – purtroppo quando si invecchia il tempo sembra andare più in fretta 😦 C’è anche da dire che non ho crocettato molto, perché un’estate torrida ci è piombata addosso con un certo anticipo rispetto agli anni scorsi (bleah!) Di conseguenza, sono diventata inquieta, e questo porta ad avvii impulsivi, e a scarso progresso su qualsiasi lavoro. Quindi questo post è una rapida panoramica sui lavori attualmente in corso, tenedo presente che ce ne sono molti altri che aspettano pazientemente. Innanzitutto, ho recentemente acquisito una ristampa di un classico, English Whitework Sampler di The Needle’s Prayse, che è talmente bello che non poteva non essere cominciato subito. Purtroppo riesco a lavorarci bene solo in luce diurna, quindi non procede molto rapidamente – ma la prima sezione è stata abbastanza veloce da ricamare. La seconda… non tanto, con tutti quegli occhielli. Ma non mi corre dietro nessuno.

As mentioned last time, I started the 4th in Little House Needleworks’ coffe/tea-themed series, Caffé Latte.

Come scritto l’ultima volta, ho cominciato Caffé Latte, il quarto schema nella serie di Little House Needleworks dedicata a the e caffé.

And another irrestible one was Plum Street Samplers’ Cape Cod Keeps: two pincushion charts, this is the first. Mermaids and whales are great favourites of mine, and my first vacation with DH, decades ago, included a brief visit to Cape Cod – bingo.

Un altro a cui non ho potuto resistere è Cape Cod Keeps di Plum Street Samplers: due puntaspilli, di cui questo è il primo. Sirene e balene sono tra i miei temi preferiti, e la mia prima vacanza col marito, decenni fa, ha toccato Cape Cod – bingo.

I’ve been plodding along slowly on the latest block of Country Cottage Needleworks’ Frosty Forest series. It might have to do with the incongruity of stitching a snow-themed project in this blooming heat. This is how far I’ve come in the last month and a half – pretty pathetic, eh?

Sto andando molto a rilento con il sesto riquadro della serie Frosty Forest di Country Cottage Needleworks. Forse perché è strano crocettare tanta neve quando fa così maledettamente caldo. Ecco quello che sono riuscita a fare nell’ultimo mese e mezzo – che pena, eh?
