Beyond the free web tool, we built this for people who need transcripts programmatically: a metered REST API and an MCP server for developers and AI agents, plus AI-generated video summaries and chat, bulk transcript extraction across a whole channel, and a Chrome extension for summarizing and chatting with any video in-page. Unlike the official YouTube Data API, there's no daily quota ceiling — usage is bound only by your plan's request rate, not a fixed unit budget.

We keep the transcript tool free on purpose — students, researchers, and content creators shouldn't hit a paywall just to read a video instead of watching it. Signed-out visitors get a few transcripts a day and a free account gets more; the daily cap is there to stop automated scraping.
