Why teams choose GegoSoft as their engineering partner
Choosing a development partner is mostly an exercise in managing risk. Will the work arrive. Will it hold up. Will anyone still answer the phone in two years.
We are an AI assisted software development company in Madurai, India, and this page is the honest version of our answer — including the work we turn down.
Four kinds of partner, and where we sit
Every option below is the right answer for someone. Knowing which one you are choosing between matters more than any list of technologies.
A freelancer
Cheapest and fastest to start. The risk is concentration: one person's availability, health and interest carry the whole system.
A large offshore vendor
Process, scale and continuity. You rarely speak to the people writing the code, and small changes move slowly.
A full-service agency
One supplier for design, marketing and development. Depth in any single discipline varies with who is free that month.
A specialist product team
Where we sit. A narrow set of platforms and frameworks, engineers you speak to directly, and a company that runs software of its own.
Six things that are actually different
Not a capability list. These are the things a client notices in month three, when the novelty has worn off and the real work has started.
The whole team builds with AI
Not a pilot and not one enthusiast. AI coding tools are standard daily practice across the team, which is why our specifications are sharper, our tests broader and our documentation current. Every change is still reviewed and signed off by an engineer.
We run software of our own
We build, host and support our own products for schools, churches, construction firms, laboratories and procurement teams. We have had to live with our own architectural decisions, which is a discipline most vendors never acquire.
Design leads, not follows
We came up through interface design rather than back-end contracting. Screens and flows get resolved before the schema hardens around them, which is a cheaper order to do things in.
Nothing is locked away
Our school ERP is open source, code sits in repositories you control, and you can deploy on your own infrastructure. A client who is free to leave and stays anyway is the only kind worth having.
You talk to the engineers
No account manager relaying your question to a delivery lead who relays it to a developer. You speak directly to the people writing your software, and you keep the same faces across the engagement.
We are there after launch
Most of our relationships are measured in years, and the substantial work usually begins after go-live. Maintenance, enhancement and a clean handover if you ever take it in-house.
What working with us looks like
The same sequence whether the engagement is one module or a multi-year platform.
A conversation
You describe the problem, the constraints and the deadline. No forms and no discovery invoice before we have established there is a fit.
A written scope
You get the scope, the assumptions, the exclusions and the estimate in writing before any money changes hands. If we think your requirement is wrong, we say so here.
Short build cycles
Working software you can open and click, on a regular cadence. Progress is measured by what runs, not by a percentage on a status report.
A real handover
Code, documentation, deployment process and a walkthrough with whoever will own it. Written so the next engineer can pick it up without us.
Whatever comes next
An ongoing support arrangement, a rolling enhancement backlog, or a clean exit to your own team. All three are normal outcomes here.
When we are the wrong choice
Saying this early costs us some enquiries and saves everyone a bad six months. If you recognise your project below, we will tell you the same thing on a call.
- × You are optimising for the lowest hourly rate. There is always someone cheaper, and on a small enough project they may well be the right call. We compete on what the software costs to own, not on what it costs to start.
- × You need coding to start this week with no written scope. We write the specification first. If the requirement genuinely cannot be defined yet, a short paid discovery is the honest way to begin.
- × The work is speculative-investment or multi-level marketing. We no longer build in this category, whatever the budget attached to it.
- × You need embedded firmware, game engines or original ML research. Real disciplines, just not ours. We would be learning on your budget, and we would rather point you elsewhere.
- × Nobody on your side can make a decision. Software stalls on unanswered questions far more often than on hard engineering. We need one person who can settle them.
