  1. (video games, slang) The enemy ghost character Blinky in the 1980 video game Pac-Man, when he enters a mode in which he can outpace the player character Pac-Man.

      As the player munches through the dots, pills and spirits of the maze, Blinky is provided with extra speed, turning him into what is commonly known as 'Cruise Elroy'. The origin of this term is unknown, but it is believed to be attributed to Spencer Ouren of the Bozeman Think Tank which cracked the problem of grouping ghosts in Ms. Pac-Man.
