[edit]Likely from Sanskrit प्रतिदिन (pratidina, “day by day; daily; every day”) (MED gives the borrowing source as Pali pakkhadina). Cognate with Khmer បដិទិន (paʼdetɨn), ប្រតិទិន (prɑtetɨn), Lao ປະຕິທິນ (pa ti thin), Thai ปฏิทิน (bpà-dtì-tin).
