Monobook edit

[edit]

Hello, Imoeng, I wanted to let you know that I have edited your monobook file because it was incorrectly appearing in Category:AfD debates (Not yet sorted). This should not cause any problems for you, but if it should for some reason please make sure that you do not reinsert yourself in the category when you fix it. Thanks, Prodego talk 17:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh man, where the hell have you been? — Indon (reply) — 13:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So, how are you now? Have a great WP mood back? The project is running well. We have renovated the project structure (I hope you don't mind). Anyway, it's good to see you back, really. — Indon (reply) — 13:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Having you back is already a great news. Don't worry about the project. Let's write together articles into FA. We will have so much fun. And hey, good luck for your exams. ;-) — Indon (reply) — 15:33, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merapi

[edit]

Hey - welcome back! ... One of the problems with the Merapi article was worldtraveller - whom I think has since quit wikipedia - he was putting in stuff which was dubious - my presence in the talk page is there because I have lots of problems with the info put in - BTW while you have been away Indon has done the most amazing list of volcanoes in indonesia - and it is excellent! Check it out! SatuSuro 14:20, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Project

[edit]

You should not have to ask - you should consider yourself emeritus professor of the Wikiproject Indonesia anyways! SatuSuro 12:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SatuSuro translation of meaning of emeritus professor - someone who has been in an occupation so long (or is so good despite retiring) - that an institution (or university) keep them on in position with office etc - as they still keep contributing to the profession - I do hope that makes sense ! SatuSuro 12:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO the project that got the kick start from your efforts is still showing fruit from that time - (even if we do change some formats ...) SatuSuro 12:41, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maaf - anak sulung sudah world of wracraft addict on our PC (which eats up our modem capacity) - and for some reason I cannot get on my imac - ichat to work properly - I'd like to but.. [edit]

On behalf of the small team that keeps regularly churning away at the articles and stubs on the WikiProject Indonesia Project that owes so much to him - we wish Imoeng all the luck that you might need for your upcoming exams! SatuSuro 12:58, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox islands and catography

[edit]

Hi Imoeng, hope you've done well at your exams. Just to let you know. The Infobox island of Indonesia is upgraded into {{Infobox Islands}} with Michael's great skill, so non-Indonesian islands can use the template. I have activated the long-abandoned Cartography sub-project. Please check that and see you later in the project. Cheeeeeeeeeeeers. :-) — Indon (reply) — 13:47, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flight 200

[edit]

Mudah mudahan tak ada keluarga atau teman teman disana! Artikel itu lihat jelas dan professional. Sebelas tahun yang lalu saya berspeda ke tempat crash dengan anak kecil untuk watch the planes - that is the east end of the far too short runway!SatuSuro 08:48, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Syukur for you - but I feel sad for the people, I know the airport so well SatuSuro 08:52, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Problem with yk airport - is it is very old and too short - and for many decades actually had a bump in the middle - the article dosnt point out the old rivalry between yk and sk - it was the adisumarmo at solo was built during orde baru -and it wasnt till after order baru that yk caught up. I dont know where my refs are on the airport rivalry - I used to live about 3 km due north of the east end of the runway - where the crash is SatuSuro 08:58, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I got to go out for a couple of hours - I would say if you trawled clusty or google there are probably some older articles about conditions - its worth a section in the flight 200 article and possibly summarising in the airport article-

(1) slippery tarmac known (2) short (3) the bump - it was joked about in the 1980's - the airport runway was not on the one plane - it might have been fixed i dont know (4) rice paddies right to the edge of the airport land. catch you later SatuSuro 09:30, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea

[edit]

But some eds prefer to do their thing quietly/privately almost - its a bit imposing....what i mean is - i think it would have been better like the very old contribs page - where its up to the ed to add bits of interest incrementally like the way a talk page adds bits by bits - the 'chart/table thing might just be intimidating to some (have a look at the australian wp contributorss page - and some of the things that people do or dont do on it... ) - as i say a good idea - but i think more of a log/blog - adding onto a talk page thingo might be less of a problem - if some want to show what theyre up to... but dont be disheartened by this response - wait so see what others think... good to have you back anyway - so keep ait it - youre always like a fresh breeze through the place so dont get me wrong - maybe sometimes nakal - tetapi pintar! SatuSuro 00:30, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The idea is good, to know what is somebody doing in the project, but it should be voluntarily edited by the member itself. I and Ben (Bwmodular) have done the same thing in the Cartography section, though then Ben has done almost all of them :-). — Indon (reply) — 08:36, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do hope we dont have too much a misunderstanding - I think rather than have the big list (the second one) - that people add like they do to talk pages - underneath - like -

SatuSuro - I am slowly but surely trying to find every indonesian stub and article to put 'Wp Indonesia' in the talk page, later when we decide as a project - all articles above (but not including stubs) - should also have Indonesia Portal tags as well - its a slow process... Also all category talk pages are being tagged as well WP Indonesia class=NA - so that we can as a project review all the categories used in the project... Its a slow process (no awb being used for this) but its good to see when others help!

You see I dont think that chatty message would look good in a list - I thinks its better to add like a talk page, menurut pendapat saya... But lets see what others say! SatuSuro 10:45, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK i'll try clean it up a bit further then :) SatuSuro 11:28, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update - Welcome back

[edit]

Welcome back mate - glad to see your userpage is back to its former glory! I have so many things on my 'to-do' list both in and out of wikipedia that I tend to bounce around from thing to another a little too much, but I had great fun doing those maps - educational for me and good to learn new software. More to come in terms of detailed maps of each main island, but I'm concentrating on Provincial pages first. --Bwmodular 11:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New collaboration...

Hello everybody. I’ve updated the current Indonesia collaboration to > > > Central Java < < <

This article’s not in a very good condition but such a significant part of Indonesia, the cultural heart of the Javanese. Please contribute! Thanks to all those contributed to the previous collaboration Sidoarjo mud flow particularly Indon.

The next collaboration...

For the next collaboration in a fortnight, I’d like to try something different. Let’s chose a stub rather than an already well-developed article. Here is a list of Indonesian stubs to choose (there’s two pages). Please check the article's importance rating – let's chose an important and significant article that will appeal to a broad range of people. Please do not choose an obscure and/or esoteric topic that is not very important. Please place your nomination here.

Any questions, please let me know. Kind regards --Merbabu 05:02, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back! Thanks, it's changed quite a bit since you reviewed it! diff. Hi from WikiProject Indonesia

[edit]

Hi Imoeng! How are you?

WikiProject Indonesia invites you to join the project, and we are sure that you can help us greatly there. WikiProject Indonesia is a project dedicated to improve all articles related to Indonesia and currently we have got 37 members.

Here are some things you can help us with:

  • Assessment: It's where you can tag Indonesia-related articles out there with our project banner and help us gather all articles.
  • Cartography: Or maybe you can draw maps? It is a very important sector of our project, since Indonesia is a big country with thousands of islands, maps could be very useful.
  • Collaboration: Every fortnight, we choose a short article that needs to be looked at and we improve that particular article together. The main goal is, of course, to reach featured article status.
  • Or you can just help us expand articles related to Indonesia.

Have fun and see you there!. -- Imoeng 12:59, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, when you were gone, Merbabu did manual spamming with the newsletter, but only with a link. We can do it again for the next edition. Including on how to organize the project as you mentioned. — Indon (reply) — 18:16, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

a lot more to go yet :) SatuSuro 12:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC) we need a quote for 'history' in indonesia project - something like 'if you dont use it - youll lose it' - tried on the chinese bit - still a mess - not sure of the convention with captial C or lower C - most of what was written had ignored the fact that during the new order chinese characters (script) were banned in all media. as a consequence the writing does not take the political banning of chinese language materials in the early 60's as the main reason/point of the language loss - the other stuff is unencylopediac - sttill need to ccome back to it later SatuSuro 12:46, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine. Yes, finally it is and the show is going to be 12 August. We'll try to get for Indonesia on the 17th and I'm going to send emails to some Indonesian newspaper editors to point our work here. And then we can create WP Indonesia or even your username in the main article space, because there are some reliable sources... hahaha :-)). You must have noticed the portal being reviewed to be removed. Nah, it's just hard to maintain the portal when there are few active editors in the project. — Indon (reply) — 15:51, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:21cineplexlogo.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:21cineplexlogo.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:34, 18 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 21:34, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jem2kdna.JPG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. High on a tree (talk) 23:42, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:5000rupiah2001.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:5000rupiah2001.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:15, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Guitar Specification Infobox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Magic fingers.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Magic fingers.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:11, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Magic fingers.JPG)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Magic fingers.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Research survey invitation

[edit]

Greetings Imoeng-

My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Oregon, studying digital media and online community. I am posting to invite you to participate in my research study exploring the work of Wikipedia editors who are members of WikiProject: Countering Systemic Bias. The online survey should take 20 to 25 minutes to complete and can be found here:

https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_cSHzuwaQovaZ6ss

Your responses will help online communication researchers like me to better understand the collaborations, challenges, and purposeful work of Wikipedia editors like you. In addition, at the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to express your interest in a follow-up online interview with the researcher.

This research project has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Research Committee as well as the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon. For a detailed description of the project, please visit its Meta page. This survey is voluntary, and your confidentiality will be protected. You will have the choice of using your Wikipedia User Name during the research or creating a unique pseudonym. You may skip any question you choose, and you may withdraw at any time. By completing the survey, you are providing consent to participate in the research.

If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via my Talk Page (UOJComm) or via email. My faculty advisor is Dr. Ryan Light. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, please contact the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

File permission problem with File:Map Indonesian religions.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Map Indonesian religions.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:23, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Notice

The file File:Selectedstarindo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Requests for Indonesia peer review requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
