Request
[edit]Subject: Request for Assistance with Rejected Draft of "Ashish Chanchlani"
Hello Mr Grab up,
I hope you are well. I am reaching out to you for help regarding a draft I created on Ashish Chanchlani. The draft was recently rejected, and I understand that one of the reasons might be related to the subject's notability. However, I strongly believe that Ashish Chanchlani is notable, considering his significant impact as a content creator.
I put in considerable effort to ensure that the draft met Wikipedia's standards by including various sources and making improvements. However, I may not have structured the article or used sources effectively enough to fulfill Wikipedia's requirements.
I have seen the excellent work you did with the article "Khan Sir" and was wondering if you could help me in a similar way to bring this article to the mainspace. If you could guide me through the necessary changes or even make some improvements yourself, it would be immensely helpful.
Moreover, the article review mentioned that it has been "salted," which I understand to mean that it cannot be recreated due to previous issues. If you think the article can now meet the required standards, I would greatly appreciate your help in restoring it from the rejected state and making it suitable for the main article space.
Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I value your expertise and would be grateful for any help you can provide in getting this article accepted. Keep Up the Excellent work
Best regards, Amanatadverse17 (talk) 18:28, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Amanatadverse17: Hey, sorry to say, but Ashish Chanchlani currently doesn’t meet any notability criteria such as WP:GNG or WP:ANYBIO. The article has a problematic history as it has been created multiple times despite several AfDs resulting in a consensus to delete. Repeated recreation led to the page being ‘salted.’ I think it would be better for you to work on other topics or biographies. I know Ashish Chanchlani well, but based on the available sources, they don’t meet WP:GNG, which is why the article was deleted multiple times.
- As for the ‘Khan Sir’ article, it was kept because Khan Sir meets WP:GNG, with multiple in-depth coverages of him in reliable sources such as the BBC, which is why it was retained. Thanks for messaging me, but for now, I would recommend focusing on other topics. Ashish Chanchlani may be notable enough for an article in the future when they meets WP:GNG, and I’d be happy to create it then. But for now, there is no notability. Thanks. AFC with plot summaries
[edit]When accepting articles at AFC about movies, films, books, anything with a plot summary, really, please be sure to double-check that the plot summary wasn't copied from an external source. I just removed copyrighted material from Boong (film). While this plot summary wasn't as advert-like as most are, you should always double check plot summaries. Good-faith contributors add them at lot under the mistaken belief that they're not copyrighted. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 10:06, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. The author has a history of copyright infringement, little miss. GrabUp - Talk 13:27, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
JnK and Haryana articles about the newly elected MLAs
[edit]Good job on these. A couple of suggestions:
- Remember to add Category:Jammu and Kashmir MLAs 2024–2029 for the JnK MLAs. I believe that you've added the equivalent category for the Haryana ones.
- Try to add the relevant infobox ({{Infobox officeholder}}) to each of the articles.
- Add the relevant wikiproject templates to the talk pages : (Biography - politician workgroup, and India - politics and JnK workgroups).
Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:22, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I’ll add them later. Thanks! GrabUp - Talk 12:23, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

VM Munusamy article should not be deleted he is a great freedom fighter
[edit]Hello admin sir V M Munuswamy is the greatest freedom fighter of Tamil Nadu and even the Governor has mentioned his pride and while writing a work on him in English please reconsider deleting it and he has an article in Tamil Wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/V._M._Munuswamy Kala321 (talk) 07:12, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Kala321: Hey, first of all, I’m not an admin, lol. Regarding your concern about the article, I want to make it clear that the subject of the article does not meet the notability criteria as per Wikipedia’s guidelines. You can refer to WP:GNG, WP:NPOL, and WP:ANYBIO for a better understanding of how and why we determine notability for these types of articles. Freedom fighters are not inherently notable per our guidelines, nor does being mentioned with pride by a governor or any other prominent figure establish notability. Notability is established only when in-depth coverage from reliable sources is found, or if the subject was an elected member of the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, or any state assembly, or was awarded a prestigious award. Thanks. GrabUp - Talk 07:24, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

Draft: Shehzad Poonawalla
[edit]Hello MrGrabUp, I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently working on creating an article about Draft:Shehzad Poonawalla, but I’m facing some difficulties and would appreciate your help. The article was previously restricted to administrators due to multiple recreations in 2018. To address this, I escalated the issue to the Administrator's Noticeboard, where I was advised to create a draft stub article and submit it for AFC review. I followed their instructions, but unfortunately, the submission was declined. I believe the topic is notable enough, as there are numerous reliable news articles about Shehzad Poonawalla. However, I might not have referenced the sources properly, which could be why the draft was declined. But I believe there are more sources available. If you could help me with improving the references or making edits yourself, that would be incredibly helpful, especially if you think the topic meets notability standards. I’m specifically requesting you because I know how capable you are and greatly respect your work. Thank you for your time and consideration! AstuteFlicker (talk) 15:19, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- @AstuteFlicker: I agree with the decline. As stated in the notification, the subject has not received significant coverage. I have also been unable to find substantial coverage. The subject fails to meet the criteria for WP:GNG and WP:NPOL. GNG requires the subject to have significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources, such as news articles. NPOL requires the subject to have been elected to a national office, such as MP or MLA. In my view, the subject currently fails both criteria. Therefore, I am unable to help you create the article at this time. I suggest waiting to see if the subject gains significant coverage or is elected as an MP or MLA in the future. Thank you. Administrator Elections: Discussion phase
[edit]The discussion phase of the October 2024 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- October 22–24 - Discussion phase
- October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
- November 1–? - Scrutineering phase
During October 22–24, we will be in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages will open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Discussion phase.
On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Special:WantedTemplates
[edit]Hi! I have been cleaning up WP:Database reports/Transclusions of non-existent templates and Special:WantedTemplates and I noticed that two of your javascript pages are transcluding Template:\s*Cite\s+web.*?. Due to a "feature" in the backend software, even though this is a javascript page, the software parses braces and brackets the same to generate links. It would be very helpful if you could add
// <nowiki>
to the top of your script page (or above the section with this expression) and
// </nowiki>
to the bottom of your script page (or below the section with this expression). Because these <nowiki>...</nowiki>
are inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend sofware from thinking you are transcluding templates. Thanks in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:42, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Plastikspork: Done and fixed. Thanks for notifying me. GrabUp - Talk 14:55, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

- Thanks! If you move the closing nowiki down one line you will get Template:\s*(URL as well. The other method is to replace
{{
with\{\{
in the javascript patterns. Or just put the nowiki comments around the entire script text. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 12:45, 5 November 2024 (UTC)- Done. Thanks again! GrabUp - Talk 12:56, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from Miss Michelle ZA (08:23, 31 October 2024)
[edit]Hi there
I have an inspirational person who deserves a Wikipedia page, how di I make one? --Miss Michelle ZA (talk) 08:23, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Miss Michelle ZA: Hey, I hope you are well. To create an article about a person, you must first search for multiple independent reliable sources that provide in-depth coverage of the individual to meet the general notability guidelines WP:GNG for any type of article. There are also specific notability guidelines you can check, such as WP:NPOL for politicians and judges, and WP:NACTOR for actors. Let me know which subject the person belongs to. After you find those sources and confirm that the person meets a notability guideline, you should create a draft using WP:ARTICLEWIZARD. Write your article without any promotional tone and cite the reliable sources you have found that provide in-depth coverage of the person. Once you finish the draft, you can click on “Submit” for review. After some time, an AfC reviewer will evaluate your draft; if it meets our inclusion criteria, your article will be moved to the main space and published. If it doesn’t, the reviewer will provide you with the reason. Also, read WP:YFA for more detailed information. GrabUp - Talk 08:34, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

EL Script
[edit]Special:Diff/1254763666 – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:37, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @DreamRimmer: Hey, I hope you are doing well. I think it is no longer targeting the citation, based on my tests in my sandbox. Actually, there aren’t many articles that I have tested with this script, and each time, a new issue arises that I am trying to fix. Let’s hope no new issues come up. Thanks! GrabUp - Talk 16:41, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's good to see you doing great work. The script should remove the unnecessary text: * Jodhpur district Official website * Jodhpur district * Jodhpur Map that was left behind. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:58, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- It is designed to remove only external links. If I add the option to remove text, it will also start to remove valuable content texts from other articles when the script is used on them. Therefore, I think a manual edit is justifiable. I created this script with the intention of tackling articles that have tons of external links in the text, considering that if an editor starts to remove them manually, it will take a significant amount of time. Thanks GrabUp - Talk 17:03, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I would say it is possible to do this without getting so many false positives. This type of unnecessary text is generally added between references section and external links section, so you can track it. Additionally, this type of text usually starts with an asterisk (*), so you can look for asterisks between references section and external links section. In its current form, I believe it should not save the edits directly; instead, it should open in a preview screen and saving should be left for manual confirmation. This is just a suggestion, feel free to ignore it. – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @DreamRimmer: I’m working on the preview thing, under testing. GrabUp - Talk 18:07, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

If the article meets our guidelines, it will be published to the main space. Keep in mind to cite multiple reliable, independent sources that discuss the subject in depth, not just trivial mentions. You can start your draft article with the help of the Article Wizard, and for a more detailed understanding, you can read this. GrabUp - Talk 12:20, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi GrabUp, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! Hey man im josh (talk) 15:52, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

G1 on Draft:ARK CONSULTING株式会社
[edit]Hi GrabUp -- G1 (Patent nonsense) does not apply to blank pages; refer WP:G1. I've deleted this one as a test page (G2) as there's little point declining deletion just to maintain a blank page, however it would have been better just to have left it be, in case the creator came back and added content later. - PS I see you are a very new reviewer -- thanks for volunteering! Do be careful to read the speedy criteria carefully as the remit is usually strictly limited. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 06:51, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information! Yes, I’m new to NPP, but I have a long history with AfC and CSD. I was often unsure about what to tag, and I didn’t use the G1 tag very much because of this confusion. GrabUp - Talk 07:52, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Espresso Addict: May I ask which CSD tag I should apply to this? G3? GrabUp - Talk 14:05, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Good question -- I think it may count as an attack page, but advice is not to tag things as an attack page especially where the target might be a minor because it just draws attention to the article/draft, so patrollers generally go with vandalism WP:G3, which would also cover hoax, another possibility here. I've just deleted it to avoid drawing further attention to it. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 22:48, 6 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, could you open a deletion query for the article Los Juglares del Dexas which does not have notoriety or substantial sources that support the topic significantly or with extensive coverage. Thank you 190.219.102.114 (talk) 02:21, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
G11 on Dubai Studio City
[edit]Hello GrabUp -- Thank you for patrolling. I see your concerns with Dubai Studio City but I've declined the G11 and tried to prune down the promotional material. See what you think now. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 14:09, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the work. Aah, it was mostly promotional, and I thought a speedy deletion was needed, so I tagged it. In the end, it’s in the hands of admins like you. GrabUp - Talk 14:24, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- I always try to go by the rubric of G11: "exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten... If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion." Obviously feel free to take it to AfD if you feel that is necessary. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 14:38, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

Rollback granted
[edit]Hi GrabUp. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:18, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

Turbo (2024 film) budget correction
[edit]Hi,
Turbo movie budget 23 crores. 70 crores is incorrect. please check this source. https://www.asianetnews.com/entertainment/box-office/actor-mammootty-movie-turbo-final-global-box-office-vysakh-midhun-manuel-thomas-ott-release-shy541 , https://www.manoramaonline.com/movies/movie-news/2024/07/16/director-vysakh-reveals-turbo-production-cost.html .
23 crores budget source is confirmed at director Vysakh.
Please check and update hopefully.
Thank you! FrancisMathew2255 (talk) 08:23, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- @FrancisMathew2255: The director is a WP:PRIMARY source, and they mentioned that the reported budget is incomplete as it excludes “Mammooka’s salary and promotion costs.” The Manorama source stated, “The production cost of this film is Rs 23.5 crore without Mammooka’s salary. Apart from that, Mammooka’s salary and promotion costs may also be added.” Therefore, the reported budget from these sources is incomplete. Considering the director is a PRIMARY source, it is best to rely on Zee News as a secondary independent source. GrabUp - Talk 08:29, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Turbo movie is produced by Mammootty Kampany owned by Mammookka. I think Zee News corresponder mistake. Please check properly.
- Thank you. FrancisMathew2255 (talk) 08:44, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- @FrancisMathew2255: Check my respond to you at the Talk page of Turbo. GrabUp - Talk 08:45, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Question from TRoda on Gill Stadium (19:06, 26 November 2024)
[edit]Hello, my first time doing this. I just created my account.
I just wanted to point out that the Manchester Yankees played in Gill Stadium for three years, 1969, 1970, and 1971. I was the trainer for the team in 69 and 70, and lived down the street from the Stadium in 1971. The article says 1971 and 1972. They moved to Connecticut in 1972. I don’t know how to correct the dates in the article. Thank you. --TRoda (talk) 19:06, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- @TRoda: Hey, thanks for your message! If you want to make corrections to the article, feel free to edit it, but ensure your changes are backed by reliable sources. For the years 1971 and 1972, there is a reliable primary source: Manchesternh.gov, which says
The Manchester Yankees, a class "AA" Minor League Baseball Team in 1947 and 1948. In 1971 and 1972 a second Minor League Baseball Team, the class "A" Manchester Yankees played at Gill Stadium
. However, if you’re adding 1969 and 1970, you must provide a reliable source. Once you find credible sources to support your claims, you can either update the article yourself or go to the talk page to request an edit. Don’t forget to properly cite the source. Thanks! Review of T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge
[edit]Hello,
You noted on my new page (thank you, by the way, for reviewing it so promptly) that I should redirect from the former name, which is Brown's Island Dam Walk, but that is already a redirect. Did I miss something?
Thanks so much!
JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 14:03, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- @JuxtaposedJacob: I just marked your redirect as reviewed and added a tag indicating that the redirect is from the former name to the new name. That's it, thanks. GrabUp - Talk 14:05, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ahh, thank you for clearing that up.
- Have a good day!

Query
[edit]Hello GrabUp, There is a YouTuber named Nitish Rajput. A year ago, an article was made about him but was deleted through PROD. Maybe at that time he wasn't notable. But still, then also some users in the AfD discussion had said that he might be notable after some time. Although, the article was then deleted. As an AfC reviewer and an experienced editor I would like to request you to please invest some of your valuable time and check if now he's notable or not and would it be justified to create a draft on him and submit it for AfC. I am not able to figure this out by myself and therefore requesting you to do so. As you know, It takes quiet long time to create any draft or article. So, it would be very helpful for me to know that if it would be good to create the draft or not. AstuteFlicker (talk) 16:45, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- @AstuteFlicker: I think Nitish still doesn’t have significant coverage in reliable sources. It has been one year since the closure of that AfD, so you are free to create a draft and submit it, but the present coverage, in my view, doesn’t pass WP:GNG. Thanks.
