I've seen comments attached to online vidclips of this song that Dianne Whiles who's listed as a co-writer had the original idea for the song and mentioned it to Dottie West when the singer visited Whiles' hometown of Moline IL and that Whiles ultimately had to sue to get songwriting credit and royalties. Is there an authorized source for this info? --Cherrylimerickey (talk) 21:29, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am Dianne Whiles oldest daughter. If you want proof of her writing I was raised on country sunshine back in 1970, she has a very good friend Bob Fisher in Nashville. You would need to talk to his daughter Lori Fisher. Besides this my mom Dianne is in the Nashville Hall of Fame from this song sincerely Lorena Sanders 166.181.85.139 (talk) 07:28, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
