Mergers?

[edit]

A variety of mergers has been proposed. Please add to the discussion at Talk:Linear regression.

Is it possible to illustrate this procedure with a picture? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.112.151.175 (talk) 00:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion is very technical for an encyclopaedia aimed at a general audience. Although the mathematical formulae are useful, some sort of explanation of the basic concepts of ANCOVA, perhaps with a few examples would make this page considerably more useful. Figure

[edit]

The model would be much easier to understand if there was a figure similar to the one here: http://www.theanalysisfactor.com/assumptions-of-ancova/. You could then put in intercepts and slopes, etc. to identify the different parts of the equation and what they are doing. Gak (talk) 11:48, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviations use

[edit]

(ab)use of the abbreviations DV, IV and CV makes this technical article practical inscrutable. Replacing these with the full terminology is preferred.

Power

[edit]

The article states: ANCOVA can be used to increase statistical power. This assertion is apparently debatable: https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/9331/9f9e57224b38219385f2acdc4b1e3cf3dbae.pdf Can someone who has more statistics expertise than I do take a look and adjudicate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arschein (talkcontribs) 15:29, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
