JB GA review
Awfully sorry about that! To be honest i'm not sure how it works and assumed it was just like any other wiki page. Was it an edit conflict or something? Or have i just destroyed an hour or so of your life? I apologise sincerely either way! Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:39, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I see i misunderstood! D'oh! I'm incorporating the rest of the salvagable parts to the article now. So wait one sec. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:41, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- (ec) Oh, no no. I had just gotten to the collaborations section. I was copy-editing and taking notes, I attempted to save and got an edit conflict, so I backed up to see the entire rest of the article from that point on (and a section or two above) had been moved to the discography! XD So it saved me an hour of my life! The GA review is being completed now and can be found by clicking the link in the template from the talk page. I'll help you work on it this week. Lara❤Love 18:42, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to bother you: but what was the comment meant to be one the "bootleg recordings" section of the GAR?
- You're not bothering me. I think I wanted a source for the bootleg part. Also, the prose needs to be improved. LaraLove|Talk| 22:50, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Courtesy Notification regarding my recall criteria
Hiya. Just a courtesy note to say I've named you as one of the editors that I would accept a request for recall from. There's nothing onerous about it, and you don't have to do anything. It's simply to let you know that as I have added myself to CAT:AOR I needed some unfussed criteria for recall, and I believe your judgement fits that criteria neatly. Thanks! Pedro : Chat 10:37, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- DOH!. Thanks Lara, and also thanks for your comments as well. As I'm sure you understand to select a bunch of "best-friends-forever-wiki-mates-and-buddies" as the only people able to initiate a recall would be dishonest. And despite our past disagreements I do trust you to be 100% honest and more than capable of making a dispassionate assesment. Again, thanks.! Pedro : Chat 18:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Just a quick note to say that I got your original responses a while ago. Since then, we've firmed up the question list and the process on how to reply. If it's not too much trouble, I'd ask if you could follow through WP:RREV/Q? Many thanks in advance, Gazimoff WriteRead 22:36, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Certainly will. :) Will take me a few days, so much going on right now, but I'm looking forward to it. LaraLove|Talk| 00:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for offering to look at this article for me. I think I've perhaps taken it as far as I can myself. The strain of being here day after day makes it difficult for me to concentrate so much any more, and if I could get out of here, I would. You're lucky to have your kiddo, and a job. I had al that stuff once, and somehow, it seemed to matter. I leave you my groundwork, and you are feree to take the credirt for it. Regards & love, Phil. --Rodhullandemu 00:09, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

- When you're looking into it, you will let us know anything inappropriate has been inserted, or if you smell something a bit fishy?</juvenile> – iridescent 22:30, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- O SRSLY! This article could be definitive because nowhere have I seen an academic or at least plausible coverage of the topic in such broad terms as it's written at present. Sourcing is difficult at best, and I have spent hours and hours on it. I have managed to keep the vandals away so that anyone serious about what WP is can work on it. Not bad, considering it gets about 8000 hits a day. As I say on my user page, it's an acid test for WP and if it turns out to be the authoritative source for the word, I'll be happy. </academic> --Rodhullandemu 22:40, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- Furthermore, it's just been rated as "B", which is a big step forwards from where it was six months ago. I suspect a month's input from committed editors will put it ready for GA nomination. Lara, I trust you on this; I have already asked User:The Fat Man Who Never Came Back, although he's not around much, because he, like you, has the right temperament to do it. I'll mention it to him again. How about a task force to show what Wikipedia is capable of with the right cooperation? --Rodhullandemu 23:40, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on having earned your first WP:FL during the last month. You may want to become familiar with the current experiment of choosing a List of the Month and various WP:LOTDs. You may be interested in nominating your list for consideration as August LOTM and LOTD. It would also be great if you would consider voting on the current set of candidates for consideration as July LOTM and LOTD.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Seeking your advice
Please refer to the details here: Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts#User:Koalorka. My question, for now, is... did I go the right place to voice my frustration about this harrassment or should I bring it up to ANI instead? Appreciate if you could offer some insight or maybe outright help. --Dave1185 (talk) 07:15, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Replied there. LaraLove|Talk 07:33, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, just to clarify things here a bit. I noticed that he was then having a heated argument (which he has deleted or archived by now) with a few other Turkish wikipedians about race thingie within the context of Europe/Eurasia/Turkey, and I explained that I had only dropped by his talk page to post that wiki-love-smile thingie whilst adding a small line to ask them to cool down, he responded with that first line back at my talkpage. Since I had put our past argument behind us and moved on, so it was only proper that I threw back the line at him, "Don't tell me you're going to start this whole thing with me again, are you? I really don't mind being a dick again, you know?", considering that I really don't mind being a dick again and he will have his hand full. I'm not combative but I find that his words are usually very caustic, it is as if he has no intention of holding no civility towards other wikipedians when he pushes his views right into their face. I consider him being a very disruptive opinionated user at times (read as in ownership issues on a few articles, go deeper into his rabbit hole and you will know) who would spare no thoughts for other wikipedians which I deeply resents and I'm quite sure there are a few other editors who share this same view, had they been bitten by him prior to this. Anyway, like I said... I've moved on but by his actions, he hasn't. --Dave1185 (talk) 08:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Once again, I disagree. From your actions, you haven't moved on. He didn't appear to even recall former interaction with you during the second incident. Your behavior in that was uncivil. This time, as I said, he may have a legitimate complaint, and it's certainly not harassment. I'll talk to Elonka about it the next time I see her online. But I don't see anything with this situation that's actionable. If anyone deserves a civility warning, it would be, in my opinion, you. LaraLove|Talk 15:05, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Lara, did you bother to check the dates? That incident happened way back in April and I have since long forgotten about the whole thing until he came tagging me with this complaint about me removing flags from certain articles (I did mentioned that I had removed his comment from my talk page today), and that is a time lapse of over 50 days. I find that preposterous! Even by my standard, the last time I ever remove flags from military articles was around two to three weeks back and that was it! So isn't what he is doing now like harassing me when I had clearly stopped that edit check a while ago? Don't believe? Check my edit history and his edit history, it would be plain to see who is the liar here. Clearly, he is taking things out on me when he has problem with other users (check his talk page!) then come to assume that I am still conducting those edit checks and tagged me as such. Suffice to say, he is the one assuming bad faith here. I don't care what his agendas are, he is not going to step over me and get away with it this time. --Dave1185 (talk) 15:29, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- You need to calm down. Whether you removed flags a day ago or a month ago, it doesn't matter. The point is, he realized it and let you know that you edited against an established consensus. Whether or not that is the case, I don't know, I don't have links to flags or articles. But what I do know is that's not harassment, and claims of harassment should not be thrown around lightly... something that happens here all too often. At the very worst, he poked you. Ignore it. More likely than that, he doesn't want you editing anymore articles on his watchlist against consensus.
- Past that, to be a dick is to be uncivil. So you have admittedly been uncivil to him in the past, and you have stated you will be again. That's unacceptable. So your best bet here is to ignore him and let it go. Because you come off like you want some sort of formal warning or block for him. And, honestly, I can't see any admin reviewing this situations and giving him any sort of warning without giving you one as well. A surely neither of you, from what I've seen of this situation, have done anything to warrant a block. I recommend you let this go before that changes. LaraLove|Talk 23:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

RE: Hello
Sorry about that. I was asking around exsperienced wikipedians to see who would adopt me. In the end i was adopted by Redmarkviolinist, but he has been quiet for a long time and i need a bit of help with references. Is there a etter way to put references into an article than just using <ref> </ref> ? Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 11:47, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ish, but not really. You can use <ref name="shorthand name">{{cite...}}</ref> the first time you use the ref. then just <ref name="shorthand_name" /> for every following use of the ref, if that helps. Gazimoff WriteRead 11:51, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, <ref> is the way to go. You can use this tool to help you construct them. If you need help in a specific article, link me and I'll be glad to help. One of my "specialties", so to speak, is reformatting references. One example of a huge job I took on is Elvis Presley, which had something like 238 notes and references. And now I need to go redo the footnotes.... but, yea, anyway, :) Just let me know. I'll be glad to help you with anything else as well. LaraLove|Talk 14:54, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
You covering of the wiki log
Hi Lara Taylor, I'd like to ask you to remove this image from covering the Wikipedia Logo. It is very distracting and covers the navigation links making browsing Wikipedia difficult. Thank you. Fingers Mckenzie (talk) 13:08, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- I actually think it's fine. You may want to ignore this comment: the user is a possible sock of Grawp. Shapiros10 contact meMy work 13:31, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thread restored; no evidence of Grawpish presence whatsoever. Algebraist 15:42, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
First, to Fingers Mckenzie, feel free to browse Wikipedia from other pages than my user space.
Second, to Algebraist, I agree, this doesn't fit the profile of Grawp, however, he's a whiny brat and I did vote to delete and redirect that little article from that non-notable character he likes to fantasize about, so it very well may be, which would explain why he pointed out that my last name is Taylor, as if it's not already in the history of my user page, which is probably where he found it, or maybe in a thread on Wikipedia Review where I posted it in March. Obviously, I'm not concerned about my last name being out there, but I guess he's not into logic.
Third, Sharpiros10, don't remove messages from my talk page unless they are obvious vandalism. Although I do appreciate the consideration. LaraLove|Talk 23:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- It was me, sorry. I figured you would see it and restore it if you wanted to, and at the time it looked like it was yet another attempt to out someone by a Grawp sock (users first edit, mentions a last name, etc.). Sorry for the inconvenience. AvruchT * ER 23:14, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- On the off chance that this is a legitimate question, there's a known bug in the Modern skin that removes the navigation tabs if any image on the page is absolute-positioned (as this is); change your skin to Monobook. – iridescent 23:22, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Avruch, you dramamongerer!! No, not really. It's not a big deal, and I do appreciate the consideration. I didn't realize it was the only edit for the account, so that would be pretty clearly vandalism, considering the inclusion of my last name... but still, it's okay. Maybe next he'll tell everyone I live in North Carolina... or worse yet, maybe he'll dig up a pic of me from somewhere on teh intrawebs, then everyone will know what I look like. *GASP* teh fearz. So many people who have never looked at my userpage will now know all mah sekrets that people who have looked at my user page already knew! HALP! LaraLove|Talk 23:50, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
I'd just like to ask if above you are calling me "a whiny brat" or the sockpuppet? I can't tell from your wording, but if it was directed at me I find that unkind when I was simply making a request about a image that screwed up my browser when I looked at your page. If you don't want to change it fine, I was just letting you know. Fingers Mckenzie (talk) 15:28, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I refer to Grawp as a whiny brat. LaraLove|Talk 15:37, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I thought I smell a rat when he started with his first edit on your talk page just as I was about to give him a warm welcome, then I added an extra sock tag to his talk page as well to express my concern that he might be the Grawp or his clones since Grawp (or his clones) were extremely busy at almost the same time, all thirty accounts were all tagged by me on UAA and BLOCKED indef by Persian Poet Gal, FYI. And someone thought otherwise. "hintz" --Dave1185 (talk) 20:08, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Lara: I asked Avruch why he did it, he told me, so I did it again. Sorry! Does this mean I fail adoption? Shapiros10 contact meMy work 19:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? And stop asking me if you fail adoption. It's adoption, not a test. LaraLove|Talk 19:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

- Seriously, Shapiros... you need to have a nice cup of tea and sit down, relax! It's not as if you've said "Candyman" three times in a row, you know? --Dave1185 (talk) 19:49, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: The undertow
I'm not too familiar with what happened. Would you mind filling me in?
:- ) This might upset you, but you were deleted from Wikipeda
here. Funny situation over, however. The nominator made only 3 edits besides for the nom. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

½ barnstar
Hey, I've never seen ½ a barnstar awarded before. Found that rather nifty. Still, you seem to have plenty. Keep up the good wiki-work! Jared Preston (talk) 19:54, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Michael A. Jackson (sheriff)
User:Sallicio has been the one who removed the tag twice now. I know he says I guided him through it, and I did offer him advice, but I never said he was notable. --Tom (talk - email) 21:49, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply. I think it may be time to bring the article up for deletion. :/ LaraLove|Talk 21:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello! I have added notability, references, and third-party citations to the article. I hope that I have done enough. Thanks for keeping me on my toes and maintaining a higher standard! Cheers!--Sallicio 02:09, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Wikibreak
Hi, its me! Just randomly snooping through special/prefixindex. Just a suggestion: change th name to Sealed Lips or Not Talking. You scared me when you had a wikibreak template! Shapiros10 contact meMy work 11:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sigh. It's the template I use for my wikibreaks. It's handy for other things. I'm not moving it or creating another one. I don't like having more subpages than I really need. LaraLove|Talk 12:17, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyvios
User talk:DreamBrother83 is uploading images en masse with GNU licenses that aren't appropriate. I highly doubt that they are the copyright owners as they have done something similar last year and the images are in the hands of multiple copyright owners. I won't be available now so can you keep an eye on the situation. I'm reverting the edits now to discourage reinsertion of the copyvio images. Thanks. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:09, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've gotta hold of this one. Makes a change from a c... - OTOH, let us not go there. --Rodhullandemu 18:27, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi! I just noticed that you are regarded an excellent copy-editor! Working on the aforementioned article for some time I am ready to nominate it for F status. But I would like to have the prose checked first by a good copy-editor (you see my mother tongue is Greek; perfect for Βικιπαιδεία but not for here)! Therefore, in case you have time, I would be grateful if you could have a look at the article. Any further suggestions welcome! Cheers!--Yannismarou (talk) 19:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll see about getting around to this. I keep meaning to, then I get distracted with other things. Sorry for the delay. LaraLove|Talk 19:22, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
